I have just about given up on timing the market. I will just try and buy any dips in the future. Wish I would have had one more IFT in August.

Isn't buying the dips considered timing? :blink: See you around at the next dip. :smile:

Getting out is the hard part and timing that is incredibly difficult.

First trading day of the month Dow gains more one day than all other days. First trading day in September, S&P up 13 of last 19 but down 4 of last 6. Day after Labor Day, Dow up 14 of last 20, 1997 up 3.4% and 1998 up 5%.
I'm going to stick with history this time around and see what happens. Will probably get out on the 8th.

First trading day of the month Dow gains more one day than all other days. First trading day in September, S&P up 13 of last 19 but down 4 of last 6. Day after Labor Day, Dow up 14 of last 20, 1997 up 3.4% and 1998 up 5%.
I'm going to stick with history this time around and see what happens. Will probably get out on the 8th.

The dream for a positive first day of the month is gone. :blink: Oh well. I wasn't getting out even if the sky was falling.

JTH and FWM are talking another leg down, possibly 10% ; may want ot hold off another day.
