Fascinating. Why has this resource been ignored for so long? Speaking of re: crater lake, re: what? Could not find the reference but I have never been good at finding old posts.
Is this in OR or some CA attraction? If it's in Oregon, much better for California.
No matter, a government approved company must be found immediately to harvest this wood. At that point or at the same time in the name of efficiency, stimulus money must be allocated for a new canal to suck all this water in to California. I thought of Sacramento, the Sacramento River Delta project, San Francisco and the Hetch Hetchy project, maybe the CVP but no. Where is California's most important area? Why of course, Los Angeles. No brainer. A new canal straight in to LADWPs coffers, oops I meant customers, for making sure the true heart of California can exist for a few more decades. Will the locals miss the water? Who cares? I don't hear many complaints from Owens Valley or Mono Lake area these days.
This is a true opportunity for some to make money and LA to get more water. No brainer and a great investment opportunity.
