Intrepid,

Dano, I don't predict the market, although sometimes I will venture a guess, I just follow my system and leave it at that. My "opinion" is that the market will start dropping in the next few days and continuing dropping the next 10 days or so. Maybe pretty hard...............I have one ITF left also and am waiting for my next sell and buy signals. Currently on a buy signal, but I think we may be topping out soon so I decided to save my last IFT in Sept. Hoping for a big October in my TSP account.........

But why would anyone listen to #2 on the tracker.........:p Nice job kodaq!!

Still holding my Fas..............

I purchased at 107 in conjunction with signal on Friday. I was expecting a bump and run however it's coasting along earning more than G while stocks rise.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed.

Sold Faz Friday at $13.60 for a loss of 6.84%. Bought Fas at $21.45.
Just a note for anyone following IT's FAZ and FAS trades. These should not be kept as long term investments. You would think that as one goes up, the other goes down, but according to DirexionShares.com, FAS is down 63% since its inception in Nov 2008, and FAZ is down 88%.

Ahhh, and you wonder why the folks on Wall Street make so much money.

I have Flak jacket on. Can someone assist on the correlation between "F" fund, FAS(what is Fas?) FAZ(see FAS?) I feel like I missed a finer point or shot a post in a different language.

Do I need two Flaks? :)

Patience is virtue...

Ever play roulette? There's red and black. The house always wins.

Just kidding. I'll leave that to the Milkman.

Except me. Over last year I've placed lump sum on table 12 times and cashed out each time individually walking away with a double up. I don't gamble however when I see 7 spins on black and 3 on red I can't help my self. This has been done in 8 countries and each time paid for that vacation :toung:

Roulette is stock market without computer!

Kevin,

Yes, I just drank a warm cup of humility; I was way off mark in my below reply of "f" fund. Humor- I thought FAS was slang lingo for plural "F's" fund account.

Everyday is a learning day----:embarrest:

(History) When I was deployed I could place 50% more of what I currently allocate to TSP. Not happy with reduction, I dropped out of 2040, allocated 50% less and vowed to make up difference, other 50%, knowing I had a steep learning curve ahead. In 3 months I've accumulated a 7.4% return knock on wood.

Thank you all for helping, it's been like a open fire hydrant at time picking up on this.

Good point Tom. :)

Thanks for the help with the explanations everyone....:D

Devilduck, congrats on the roulette winnings. Hope you are able to keep it up. Back in my 20's when I was going to casinos, just a few years back :p, I saw red hit 23 times straight..............yes, I lost my butt. Had to dig for change in my car to pay for the toll roads home................

Could someone confirm this for me?

When Intrepid_trader holding FAS, he thinks the market will go up.
When holding FAZ, he thinks the market will go down.

That's correct, visual. But they are financial stock ETF's so, although it is not typical, they may not always move in the same direction as the S&P 500, for example.

Correct. I use financial ETF's because they have been the most volatile the last few years...............I posted previously that I will be using leveraged mutual funds at the first of the year so I don't have to worry about buying and selling at any particular time of the day.......................

My signals are broader market based so when I get a buy signal, you could buy ETF's, index based mutual funds or even a basket of individual stocks. I wouldn't however trade just one company. You never know when something might happen to any particular company........................

I actually expected a sell signal today but it didn't happen. Now I'm worried we might get a short squeeze soon and I'll be missing out in my TSP because I didn't go into equity funds when I got a buy signal on Friday. I typically get two buy signals a month and choice to wait till my next one since we had already rallied quite a bit this month. That would of worked great last month. Guess we'll see this month..............as long as I don't lose money on any IFT, I'll be content.................;)

AGG pole with 12 lb bass on end

I really wish IFT came in more than two. AGG is not where I want to be today much less overnight. IT, any wisdom, AGG looks like 12 lb bass on end of it :cheesy:
