I hope you have at least 16 more - and that's wonderful FogSailing!

My goal from day one was to make it to 50 and I'm half way on 12/18. So now I'm all the more determined to make the next 25 better than the first.

Decided to stay conservative for tomorrow...oil went up, rate cut is still up in the air, and while CPI is good...the numbers aren't final..

So it's 70 G, 10 CSand I for tomorrow..

The Wall of Worry seems to be climbing higher...

I have been amazed at making a decision to bail within that environment just to wake up the next morning and see the market have a +2% day..you ask yourself...how could I have known...and of course, we can't because we aren't privy to the inside info..

Other days I've made my moves totally confident in my decision based on historical averages, the formation and trends on the various indices, the dollar, the 5 and 30 day patterns, dma's, RSI, Volatility Indicies, Stochastic analysis, etc...and the market tanks 2% or more...

That's where I am right now...the latest news playing is a 200B potentail writeoff rumor...So, the question is...how bad is it, and when will we know...

The demand for oil continues to grow...but once the economics of oil become a major strain on the economy...you will see the alternatives start to become true substitutes for oil...And that will be a good day...

Gold, IMO is just an indicator of concern..so, who is holding it? Not me...How about you? Must be somebodies with enough cash to make the price go up..I wonder if it's the same folks that say...control the oil price, or spew rumors of a 200B hit in the mortage markets..

The dollar continues to fall...the implications aren't what most investors think is positive for the country..

So, each day I ask myself which are facts and which is hype..

There also seems to be a different volume activity occuring in the marketplace, and the buying and timing of the shorts and longs is in transition..

So, what does one do...how do we improve our ability to time in this environment..given that we have to decide before we have all the facts..

Might as well be buying a lottery ticket...

S&P just dropped below 1500...It's starting to look like a buying opportunity for the afternoon...I don't know if we'll go GREEN today, but I think I'm heading to G for tomorrow. This anxiety is becoming "less than fun". I'll look for the markets to stabilize a bit, then get back in...

I'm in agreement with Griffin..between the cost of the Iraq war and the sub-prime debacle...we're just bleeding away our nation's wealth..

I'm gonna take a breather the rest of the week..

It is these anxious "less than fun" times where you can get a good entry point for a move up (or avoid bailing at the lows). Until SPX 1490 is broken, odds favor upward over several days time.

Well, I guess I just say it...Last week definitely took the wind out of these old sails...in fact, it tore the jib...and busted a spar or two..

So, I've taken this old boat into dry dock and now I'm trying to decide what are the best options are for the upcoming week..

The weather may hold more storms, as they continue to develop on the horizion, with more gale force force winds. I think we lost several small craft last week.
It may be that the winds will blow hard , with increasing seas, and it will become increasing colder,
Or, the winds will be milder, the seas fairer, and the temperature will be moderate..

In no case do I feel the winds are mild, the temperature is warm, and seas are mild and following..

I'll probably jump in 100% on Tuesday...hopefully to catch a bounce unless it happens tomorrow. The weird thing about his market is that the bounces haven't been hapening when we are all expecting them to occur. It's seems to me that they are a day or two later, and less positive than bounces we caught earlier in the year. I don't see how we can reach 14000 unless something turns this economy around...just my opinion...now back to getting the boat repaired..
