Ebb's Account Talk

ebb's cracking the whip forcing me to work OT tonight...
The Nikkei is down over 2.5% and continues to free fall.....the Bears are exhibiting restless leg syndrome...the first domino is tipping over but is it gonna reach Europe and then have enough momentum to touch us...my unbiased expert opinion says yes and my patterns (which are way better than my boss's cause I have incorporated, unbeknownst to him, another pattern) confirm this...all of you would have known this already if you had signed up for my primo service...

Haha...you crack me up rckn! Your colorful comments are always welcome here. :D

Unofficial results for July 26, 2013:

S&P 500 (C-fund): +0.08%; DWCPF (S-fund): -0.30%; EFA (I-fund): -0.62%.

Friday's MSCI EAFE shows a loss of -0.31%. Market movements between noon and closing time: Dow +0.72%; S&P +0.61%; DWCPF +0.36%; EFA +0.36%. It's very interesting to note that EFA moved +0.56% when 11:30 AM ET is used instead of noon. So if the TSP overlords tack on a +FV of half a percent, then maybe we should be using 11:30 AM (European markets close at that time).

TNA: -1.51% (YTD: +83.18%). Is this boat starting to rock and about to tip over? :suspicious:

A friend asked me a health question about fasting. I'm no expert at it, but I did try it over a decade ago (for three days only). My experience:

The first day was easy, I drank only water while fasting. The second day, I felt my senses becoming more sensitive. I started seeing swirling heat/steam (like an aura with no colors) rising out of people and objects. The third day, I rested my head on a colorful mat on top of the dining table. A minute later when I opened my right eye closest to the mat, I was able to inexplicably focus on its colorful surface (magnified 100X). Then, my eye's vision traveled along a path and came upon a giant boulder.

That's when I raised my head to find out what I just witnessed. I thought I hallucinated at first, but then I realized the mat had the same exact colors and patterns, and the boulder turned out to be an actual piece of crumb. I think the lack of food heightened my senses, not unlike using one of those sensory deprivation tanks. Maybe someday we might be able to harness the power of our brains at 100% full capacity. Yeah, superpowers!

Please consult your doctor and do some research on fasting before trying it. :D

Definitely not my experience with fasting, but I have heard interesting stories.

If anyone is interested, I could PM information about it.

Welcome Back Ebb!

Yeah, I wouldn't mind hearing it. I have a friend who started to fast one day a week (on the advice of some doctor who sends health newsletters out). He had an interesting experience so I would like to hear yours.

Basically, he was getting used to the weekly fasting and started to not like the taste of food as much. He started to have little desire to eat anymore and felt he may be getting pre-anorexic... so he cut back. He dropped about 50 lbs but it has started coming back some since.

I prefer feasting as opposed to fasting... as the Apostle Paul said, "I buffet my body daily"... some think he was referring to mortification of the flesh, but I want to believe that the best hermeneutic supports the concept of "buffet" in the Golden Corral sense of the term : P

the caveman diet has worked for me...eat all the meat you can...lots of butter, fat, cheese, eggs, bacon, ham, steaks and no carbs...think of all the foods that the food nazis say will clog your arteries and give you a heart attack...those foods are the ones you should be eating...

Unofficial results for July 30, 2013:

S&P 500 (C-fund): +0.04%; DWCPF (S-fund): +0.37%; EFA (I-fund): -0.05%.

Tuesday's MSCI EAFE shows a gain of +0.24% (no FV expected tonight).

TNA: +0.23%% (YTD: +79.92%). Traders remain cautious ahead of the FOMC meeting tomorrow. :D

MSCI shows a loss of -.29%
I was ready to hurl my remote at Maria around 3o'clock thinking a +FV would be tacked on but my Cubs came through
I guess 1.7 wasn't all that the media proclaimed it to be...
The dovish one will have to crap a different shade of red next time on the bulls head
I'm on the tee now...

The new website for the ebbcharts will be ready before the end of August, but until that time, here's an update of the ebbchart patterns:

Besides the triple patterns, I have also began following the double patterns. Double patterns allow the system to go into equites (2nd day only, S-fund) even if the triple patterns are bearish. It made gains the last three times the system implemented the DP strategy (Apr. 29 +0.72%, May 10 +0.73%, Aug. 05 +0.11%). For most of the patterns, the 2nd day of a DP appears to maximize its strength or weakness. The 3rd and 4th day on the chart are for triple and quadruple patterns (not used, need more data).

The ebbcharts have been updated. I usually post two weeks of patterns in advance, but I've been taking it easy. Check this link from time to time for updates: EbbCharts.

Today and tomorrow, the ebbchart has a bearish double pattern (1-1). The 1st day shows a 70% chance of turning positive while the 2nd day shows a drop to 59% (see double-patterns chart). These odds should turn down a bit as more data comes in. The cycle for double patterns on its 2nd day usually goes lower for bearish patterns (from 59% to 51%) and higher for bullish patterns (from 55% to 65%). :D
