Ebb, thanks for helping me grow my tsp account. It was fun while it lasted. Good luck!

Charmed855, you're most welcome. You did move up the tally, great! I see a lot of folks who stand to benefit the most from the ebbchart being the ones reluctant in using it as a tool. Glad it was able to help you out. Good luck trading. :)

Almost forgot about posting my IFT to the G-fund for Monday.

Bloomberg is showing +.14 cents for the I-fund today. Hope it holds.

Have a nice weekend everybody! :)

Still haven't decided where to park my funds while I am on vacation and AFK. I will have some computer access the first week but I will be completely out of touch the second week.

Either I can stick it in a stock Fund, an L Fund OR, go for a safe G fund as a defensive move. hmmmmm

well good luck on the switch to pay to play but I'm disappointed. I've only been paying closer attention recently and just can't buy into it literally. I was hoping you would keep this test mode going longer since you still seem to be in tweek mode.

I was hoping you would switch to a very low cost system while you continued to test and to encourage discussion among readers. Now I worry you'll feel pressure to "perform" to warrant the subscription.

I've had that problem also. I used to switch a big chunk to G but the last time I just parked in L2040 - I was away for nearly three weeks in a turbulent time so I was still a bit nervous but it worked out well. There seems to be no way to follow Ebb or any system in circumstances like vacation.

Hi, Dear Ebb,

(Started posting a PM but decided to go public as some others might be in the same position):

First of all, congratulations on your system, I just know that it has helped me increase my savings, even though I am very conservative as I retire 31 Dec 07.

Question for you: Do you think that I can benefit from your system if I only play with 40/50%? (60/50% remains in G at all times).

I trust your honesty and good will in your answer. Few people I know would have spent all the time, effort, and energy into developing the system that you have and sharing it with others for so long with 0 profit. I still don't know 100% if it would be cost-effective for me to follow your system at this time. Money to me at $15.95/mo is not an issue when I made up with your system what I lost in July/Aug even playing with 50% on G at all times. HOwever, being #46 in the tracker is thanks to you, I would be in a higher rank were it not for the G fund I must protect.

So, let me know what you think, I just would hate to lose the camaraderie and the wealth of knowledge found with you and the rest of the TSPTalk gang, including Tom, Griffin, Paladin, 350z, Birch, Vector, Aviator, Dr. F, nnutts, ChemEng, to name a few.

If anyone else would like to express their opinion on my question, please feel free to do so.

Happy end-of-year closeout, if you like me are working contracts and budget, I feel your pain, (it's 14:00 and I took lunch time to type this Q to Dear Ebb...);)

Thanks and God bless!

CormaGa34

You could always just park it in the G with the Sentiment Survey and if you can check back next Friday, go with it again for next week.

If you want to play it really safe and you won't be back and able to check internet the following Friday, just call in a transfer back to G (or L2040) for Monday.

Git-R-Done......Ebb

With all this Lunar talk about here, I thought maybe two possible theme songs for Ebb. LOL

Guess who sang these

When the Moon hits you eye like a big Pizza Pie that's Amore.
When the Stars make you drool just like a Pasta Fazool that's Amore.........................

Fly me to the Moon and let me play among the Stars let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars.......................

LOL.....Ya Think?

Thanks a lot, CorMaGa34! Personally, I know I would still be moving my account after retirement. Moving around 50% sounds reasonable to protect a big chunk of your nest egg. I'm kind of partial to my system because I always think of it as capable of getting over 30% a year (it's the plan). The ebbchart should be able to help your account even at a reduced firepower of 50%. Everything is relative anyway, your 50% is probably double my firepower. Best wishes on your retirement and good luck trading. :)

I'm new to this site. Should I decide to try your system, is it month to month? Also how would I subscribe?

As mentioned yesterday, both the EbbChart and TSP Trader (Trader Fred) trading systems will be ending their long free-trial monitoring periods and will be moving to a subscription service. I received a ton of email asking for more details. Here's what I can tell you now:

The change will take place as early as this Monday morning. Like RevShark's TSP Timing Newsletter service you will be able to use either PayPal or a credit card to purchase a subscription. You can pay each month, or get a discount for a pre-paid annual subscription. Further discounts will be given for subscribing to multiple services. The prices will be as follows:

RevShark's TSP Timing Newsletter will remain $19.95 per month but we will add an annual subscription option for $200, which is a savings of 15%. RevShark will be giving away a free copy of his new book, Invest Like a Shark, with all annual subscriptions.

Some of you may not know who RevShark is, but you may have heard of Jim Cramer...

“The book you are holding is, hands-down, one of the most original and insightful books I have ever read when it comes to teaching you, the individual investor, not only why you have the ability to beat the Whales of Wall Street, but also how you can do it.”
--from the foreword by James J. Cramer, CNBC’s Mad Money and TheStreet.com

The EbbChart Trading System will be $15.95 per month or pre-pay $162 for a full year subscription. Again, that's a 15% savings or 13.50/month.
The Trader Fred's TSP Trader System will also be $15.95 per month or pre-pay $162 for a full year subscription. That's a 15% savings or 13.50/month.

Save another 10% if you subscribe to two services. Subscribe to all three and you will save 15%

All subscriptions will be renewed automatically so you will want to contact us for a no questions asked cancellation. No refunds will be given for monthly subscriptions. Pro-rated refunds will be given for cancelled annual subscriptions.

I realize turning services that you have been used to getting for free is not going to be the most popular thing we have done, but it is time for the creators of these trading systems to be compensated for the years they put into developing them, and hours of processing done each night to turn a plethora of data into easy to understand buy and sell-signals for us.

I would like to thank you for your continued support of TSP Talk. We have come a long way in the nearly four years we have been online. Although we may have to make some minor changes to maintain the integrity of the paid services, the rest of the website will remain unchanged and free, including this market commentary, Divot's Market Debrief, TSP Corner, the popular message board, the returns tracking application, the TSP utilities and calculators, plus the highly successful Sentiment Survey System.

I will post the link on the home page (www.tsptalk.com) late this weekend. You won't be able to subscribe until Sunday evening or Monday morning as we are still working on the backend processing. I'll make sure no one misses any signals.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi CorMaGa34, I am retired....back in 2004. I also am a fiscal conservative. I look at my TSP fund this way....
I had maxed my TSP out since it's inception in 1988 and played it conservative....G fund. A friend shared his TSP balance with me and it was twice the amount of what I had. He was a lower grade and had contributed much less than me. He played the C fund. Then in 2001/2002 I watched 60% of my earning go down the drain and did nothing. How stupid is that.
I am in the TSPtalk for two reasons...1) I never will allow my hard earned savings disappear like that again and do nothing; and 2) I want to maximize the only savings I have so I can enjoy my retirement.
The risk?....There was a lot when I was guessing on my own. But with all the intelligence that abounds on the TSPtalk web site, you have the opportunity to gain a lot and lose very little...if you pay attention. I follow the leaders, and they keep me out of trouble. When I am away from my computer, I go to the G fund.
Following Ebb will keep you on the up and up, with very little down and down. I think that the buy-and-hold in the G fund doesn't benefit you. If you invest only 50% of your funds, you can only reap half the benefit of Ebb's hard work. I tried that, it didn't make any sense, because you are actually losing money when you consider inflation (the real inflation...Not the one that the government tell you about. That one doesn't include what I spend most of my money on).
I recommend that you try it for a while and see if it's works for you or not. You can always run back to the G fund if you get too worried.
I'm a day trader and loving it.
(P.S. I got into the new Tracker just recently so my record doesn't look as good as it really is. I'm at +13% YTD.

CONGRATULATIONS ! ! !
I am happy for you because finally you are going to be compensated for all
your sharings... I CAN'T WAIT TO SUBSCRIBE ! ! !
and help Tom and You for everything you both have done for the TSP community... Again... Thank You Again !:)

I just started tracking your financial advice this month. With the yields I've received from my tsp investments this month I am very much interested in your system, please let me know what I need to do to subscribe.

I'd have to agree... Ebb, you deserve some compensation for your work and insight. $162 a year to make thousands of $$$? No brainer especially if you can reach that 30% goal or even something close to it... you da man! I'll be subscribing once I am back, refreshed, from vacation.

I think parking my account in the L2040 fund is the way to go once I am out of touch. Won't get hurt but will/should get some modest gain.

Have fun gang!
