Dr Faustus's Account Talk

I susbscribed to the EbbChart yesterday (10/14). So I guess that means I can't post my moves here any more. I do plan to continue my two-day pattern analysis, but I am unsure how to discuss it. Anyone subscribing to Ebb have any ideas in that regard?

Is it possible for Tom to set up a Ebb membership only forum? I think it would be tough discussing your rational based on the EbbChart two day patterns without revealing the information received through the subscription service.

I wish I had a solution, but I don't. Your work is very good, and I would hope we can used it as further confirmation of the right trade. Thanks and good luck!

It's easy squeezy using vBulletin. I believe the administrative overhead may be the issue. It's another set of permissions that Tom/mods would have to actively manage.

Maybe Ebb would be more open with his back-testing data if this type of group was created.

It's a hard call Dr F. You joining makes me feel even better. If my gut tells me to go with THIS FUND and the Ebb Chart is going with THE SAME FUND - I will not post the ITF other than making known it is in sink with Ebb.

If we bought Ebb's Service then it should take priority and we should not make our ITFs public. However, at times when Ebb's chart is 3 reds and he goes "contriarian" - I will post an ITF to G if the call is my unique plan.

I'm confused !!! If people are going to follow the EBB plan and follow a set pattern then why are they posting their opinion?

People still want to learn. Ebb will not be around forever. Also, some may be using his data as guidance vs. 100% follower.

Well doc, I hate to hear that you will not be posting your moves. Too bad for everyone. It looks like the board's usefulness has about reached its end! :(

U got a point. Still useful but deminished for certain. I'm going 100% S fund for Tuesday. After todays losses Tuesday is looking better...Nasdaq might pop nicely. Small caps might be the place to be. No charge for this...ever!

Oh please... this board was around long before EbbTracker, and it hasn't exactly slowed down since the EbbTracker went private. There will always be plenty to discuss without the details of one systems allocations.

Cheer up!

The other side!

It would be a shame to lose Ebb and Fred because someone bought them out!
Both are great!
We want them around!
Besides I think I'll cancell my $199 newsletter and go with the $14.95 Ebb&Fred.....:D

LOL. Yeah right, we wouldn't want to lose them to a hedge fund.:D

Well, I wouldn't go that far. As Jeff said, this board was around before Ebb, it will be around after Ebb. There are other board leaders to watch - I'm sure they know a lot more about market dynamics than me.

That said - it would be nice if Ebb shared his data / analysis with someone. After, you never know when you might get sick, called up to that great boardroom in the sky, etc.

I'm not sure if I'm getting this right, but I sense a vibe of discontent that someone is actually charging for their services to help people grow their TSP account. If not here, I've seen other posts to this effect - something like this is supposed to be a free site, blah, blah, blah. While the site certainly is diminished when someone like Dr. Faustus leaves, he's got to look after his best interests. If that means subscribing to Ebb's system, good luck with that. And if Ebb can make money doing this, more power to him, I hope he becomes a multi-millionaire helping people grow their TSP.

To the good doctor - I hope you are able to continue to contribute in any way you see fit and I hope we're not hijacking your thread too much!

Dr Faustus,

I agree! Ebb should have a Ebb-blog where he could give a narrative to the general members, Fred too! I think it would enhance their services. Other folks do it! However, to get the specific moves should give Ebb and Fred some compensation to keep them on board.

I have to admit that I have had a tough time following Ebb and Fred when what I am seeing differs, but much more often than not, they are right and I am wrong.

I am trying to write my daily commentary without taking the system signals into consideration. I'll show the ob/os inds, put/call ratios, sentiment inds, etc to help other make their own decision. I may be 100% S-fund one day because the Ebbchart recommends it, but I may not believe that is where I should be based on my data. Fighting the ebbchart signals has cost me about $90K this year. I finally waved the white flag. I am a believer.

We all know what opinions are like, but we still can't get enough of them - even if we don't listen to them :)

Glad to hear that ebb and fred are doing well. This web site grew because of the people that were willing to share their knowledge of investments and the ins and outs of the market. We have seen lots of people come and go. Some were missed and others dismissed. Over all it has been a great site. Hopefully we will be able to continue with the same format. I understand wanting to be rewarded for your efforts, if that was the main intend from the beginning. An over 30% return is very impressive, but tet us not lose focus on the intent of the board from its inception. Good luck to all
