Cowboys Account Account Talk

imported post

Good morning did you watch the last hour of the trading yesterday. The question is was this smart money or emotional money coming into the market? My opinion is we don't know. I will tell you this though if you look at the charts this morning it bounced again off the resistance in about the same place as yesterday. Interesting to me. Today makes me think the market is like two people playing racketball and the ball is moving faster in between them and it anyones guess which side will have the ball. To me if your in G your doing okay but you will find that when the G boys come in will they necessarily play any better than anyone else is now that is the question?

Ol Cowboy is going to try to ride CIclops today!! He is up on this bull and if he read him right should gain something from the experience, hopefully. If not than he at least got on him and if he gets poked Doc may have to do some doctoring. He's in the chute with him and there is a lot of excitement! Cowboy has went 100% Sat the COB today. He's born to buck!!:D

Well Ol Cowboy let CIclops out of the chute today! There was quite a few of the locals in the grandstand. Just a wondering why Cowboy even attempted to ride on a day like this. Yep there was a lot of discussion about when Cowboy nodded his head and the boys turned him out in the big pen. Cause some thought he didn't mark CIclops out correctly. Remember that little glitch that I said was resistance I seen where it glided by it and then Cowboy was antsy, he wanted to ride besides when there's a senorita or two around Cowboy just got to show off. So did Cowboy lose or gain today? Lets see he lost another .12 in the I fund but bought back S at 20 cents less on the same move. So does Cowboy score points for this ornot? Did he gain shares or lose them? I will say one thing though CIclops is a rank bugger hard to read but with practice I think we can master him. :D

Thats alright Grandma you just set right there on the fence and let the Cowboy do the riding, cant blame you one bit. So did I win or lose jumbing into the I fund and then back to the S fund that is the question? Did cowboy score any points on the ride? Seems like no one knows to me. Heheehe! Cowboy jumps onto Ol CIclops at 15.30 sells at 14.97 and know one seems to know the answer. Thats a .33 negative score isn't it? Personally Cowboy don't care if you think he lost or won, folks. I just want some responses so that maybe Cowboy can give you some assistance for what it's worth. If no one asks then Ol Cowboy just keeps a mindin his own business. So if your serious you need to ask or respond. I know there is a lot a socializing and things going on on the board but the deal is, if you want to know something ask or respond. Very simple answer yes, no, maybe! No question is stupid on the Cowboy thread and he will give his perspective not saying it will be right either though.Cowboy only holds hands to the end of the cliff than you jump alone.

Hehhee! The Ol Stockmarket istrying to bait somebody into the arena. Hehee looks like it, don't it. Is it going to be up or down? Is I fund going to shoot to the moon? Truth is no one knows! I do believe it will gain a few pennies today though. Maybe Cowboy jumped on his horse too quick. Hehehe! Since no one wants to try and answer a simple question, maybe Cowboy will just go on about his day then. The bears must be scaring them silly! LOL!!:D

LoL!!! Thats pretty good Gritz! I think that bear had it going didn't he. I had to assess it through my home computer and it is real slow and goofed up as I go through a dial up that really sucks.:D

I have went 100% F as COB today 5/2/05. We'll git ol Stockmarket a ride today hoping it holds. I been watching the markets awhile and this whole drive up has been on the back of the C fund which has hit it's two week high today and is going back down in my opinion. The funds have been trending down so I am just going with the trend unless it shows some type of change. I also see the funds hitting the ten day average and then heading back lower each time so I just figure it is going to do that again today. Take care everyone. Cowboy is spurring him out!

imported post

Heheehe! Ol Stockmarket ducked a time or two but Cowboy just rode him clean through and got that .71 I believe. Cowboy is going to get on F for Firecracker and he is kind ofold and may give a hoot if it is acool day or may just go and lay down on him. Some figure they know what is going to happen but Cowboy he just takes one dayat a time and plays his cards as he sees them.

When the judges reviewed cowboys ride there was an error in the addin and Cowboy scored a .61 not the .71 as prevously posted. This weekend Cowboy got drug to the bigger city which is probably darn small to most of you folk. But he got into a building called a Mall. Now out in the country when you talk about a maul it is a big hammer. But in town it is a bunch of stores all under one roof. I guess city folk don't like walking out in the fresh air but my city friend says it ain't very fresh anyways. Well in this mall I found a book written by a Mr. Texas Bix Bender on Cowboy Etiquette. See way back in the day, most cowboys were drifters and there was an unwritten etiquette that was followed. This here Texas Bix Bender wrote a few of them down and I thought since most of the people drift in an out of the board like the Cowboy used to on the range, some etiquette would be a good thing for all of us. Besides that not only may it give us some ideas on etiquette, it may be a little humorous now and then. So with that thought in mind here goes. First we need to get an idea on what etiquette is:

Etiquette

is the difference

between stable manners

and table manners.

I am sure every Cowboy wished he would of had this here bible on etiquette when he went into town to see the widow woman or his favorite soiled dove or for any visiting procedures. Hehee!:D

Have a good evening everyone!

Cowboy, I was tracking your move in one of your post and there was a difference of .01. Now, it seems like that difference went up to .10.... Hmmmmm.... That is the problem with this islander, I can't do math. It could be that I am using a new tracker with more than 125 line entry instead of the 30 lines that Tom made for us. Can you please send me your OWN tracker... Please....

Sorry about that Pyriel. I do not keep track of daily moves. I quess what I should explain is that when cowboy rides and makes a move, he just takes it by what happens in that day. For example: The S fund went up .0071 - F funds raise of a penny and you have a .0061 increase. I believe your tracker is correct in how it is tracking my moves. So I just state Cowboy has a .61 ride for the day. This is the reason I was askingin earlier posts if people were following what I was doing if they understood. See I asked ifCowboy had a loss or a gain on the ride on CIclops and no one answered so I thought everyone understood or no one pays much attention to the Cowboy anyway. I was trying to stress a point on the I fund move on that day the cowboy rodebut noone seemed interested.

Howdy! Cowboy here, hows all you cowpunchers doing tonite. I had several people asking what type of system I use to keep track of moves. I do not keep a daily tally and I think Fundsurfer does a good job. I do keep all of my intertransfers and use these to tell me what I had and what I will have if I buy sell or just set in the market. I watch the market and decide what to do at that time in other words I just manage my money. If the market is going to give me somethiing I take it and if not I just set. The key is you have to have a good feeling it is going to be there when the day is done and have the confidence to go for it 100%. On 4/28 Cowboy rides Cyclops. Why? The I fund was down right on that day about .13. So why did Cowboy get on? Simply this, he gained shares on the move. If you notice on that day even though it is a loss the S fund dropped further, so Cowboy just bought into it and bought the S when it was .20 drop in the same day saving 7 cents and bought more shares then when he sold the S fund the last time. Now if you look back and would have held I fund till today I would have made more just setting tight wouldn't I. This is true. But hindsight is better than forsight. I don't believe there is anyone that can tell you exactly where you should be and when. I am really just testing this money management system out and feel it is working at this time. Yes you could have more money if you were setting G or F all the time, maybe. I made money the first quarter in TSP and I don't think I have lost much yet this quarter. I do not believe in setting and waiting for a fund to come back to you. As this can actually cost you money and you need to move if a fund is not responding the way you thought it would. The thing I hate about G & F you canride the fence but it don't buck. So your totally at the mercy of what the other funds do the next day as I am now. Do not get me wrong here as I do read charts, and the trend is down.Until that changes F & G are a safe play maybe as the market could go up tomorrow.

On a less serious note folks. I got a yarn to tell ya and it has nothing to do with the stock market. Being on the range all the time I don't get into town that often. But the wife she kind of wanted to go to the picture show. So being a cowboy and all, I put on my best duds and we went to the show. So when we gets there I had the urge to relieve myself, so I excused myself from my wife prior to the show a startin and goes to the bathroom. Well wouldn't you know it. I goes in and there and there is afew guys around a waitin. So I stands there and waits my turn like everyone else and I notice this Dandy standin and a waitin too. Now for those of you that don't know what a dandy is. It is someone that is dressed to the hilt and his clothes probably cost more than year of the Cowboys wages. Anyhow we both go up to the urinal about the same time and I did look out a place a bit in my hat and western shirt. We both start to pee and he must a not had to go too bad and got done in short order and heads to the sink to wash his hands. Now being an observant fellow I kind of watched him in his attractive getup and kept a drainin. I gets done and start to leave when this Dandy grabs me by the shoulder. Now in Cowboy country that is a mistake you don't make twice. I didn't know what to expect but I did turn kind of sudden. This Dandy says, "Hey, smart boys wash after they pee." Well I justlooked him straight in the eye and said, "Smart boys learn not to pee on there hands." There was a resounding laughter when I left the bathroom and the wife being all curious and giddy asked me what the ruckus was about. I said, "I don't know but some guy was a peeing on his hands in there." :DHave a good one tomorrow everyone!

Remember this from last night. Now we will see what the market is doing. Three things could happen: 1) The market may continue up and over 1.30% in the S fund in the next few days if this does happen I may jump in. 2) It could go up to the 1.30% and then go back down, this would mean it is ranging. 3) It could of peaked already and may have started down already.I am sorry, but I was going topost thisover an hour ago but was busy. Enjoy today!

Now that this day is closed how many sold this rally and didn't buy into it? This is what the Cowboy would have done with his 1.45% interest change in the S if he would of been there. I believe the market has a very good chance of going down tomorrow. If the market doesn't go down what are you going to do? Are you going to keep it or let ride and get greedy? If you didn't sell today and the market is going back down are you going to sell? To me this was one of the better days of the year so far and no one sold it, that I can see. The S fund hasn't been $14.00 in three weeks and it hit it today. Sell. Watch a while. If the market commits up into next week buy back. Charts are showing down good news or bad. If the market goes down you don't gain anything your just happy one day. Now if your Cowboy, he would have sold today watched and if market up, buy back in and hope it keeps going. If down your looking at it like aman who just saw a womans goodies on the first date. Heheehe!

I transferred 100% "G" Fund COB Today. Pluck, Pluck! :shock:Think there will probably be some profit taking tomorrow. Mainly because everyone has watched the Market go up one day and lose it the next over and over for the last couple of weeks, they are GUNSHY and will want to get their profit while they can. Depends what happens tomorrow, Oil UP?, dollar down? etc. Friday is a big day, withthe April employment report. If Friday's numbers don't turn out good, down we go again (maybe). Today may have been a short-term bounce. Wait and see! That's me!:*

BUT!!! It's GOOD, When It's GOOD!!!:l

To me locking in today can't hurt you any way as the market will fluctuate. This is why I will not play 4 different funds at the same time. Watch tomorrow I think it may go down and if it does and you think it may go up the next day you can buy back in it again. I also like to play the funds against one another by being 100% if I buy in too earlier the one or the other will go down sooner or later and I'll cost average this way.
