In that particular scenario, you are always going to pay unless you use tact. And besides, if she is fat, she is never going to look skinny in any dress. It's important that she knows you find her attractive in any dress. After all, she is trying to do/look her best for you.

wait, so this isn't really a question about lying or honesty? it is actually a question about tact or directness? i think it would be interesting to find out what folks think about that.

general questions to anyone who cares to answer:

do you prefer to treat people with tact, or directness?
do you prefer people treat you with tact, or directness?
are you female, or male?

You answered the questions as posed. It was just a side commentary and my opinion that you will always pay for that answer. You can still be truthful while exercising tact. "You always look good to me no matter what you wear" would be tactful without lying....but if your opinion is more important than her happiness......more power to you, bro. "You need to lose weight" always goes over better than "you look like a fat slob."

And by the way, you can use tact and directness simultaneously.

LOL. It wasn't really a trick question. It was about ethics and lying in general...not about how to get along with your partner. Every man knows better than to answer that type of question.

I doubt being nekked will work for you after you call her an overripe tomato....but I suppose that is also dependent on the caliber of the gal. :rolleyes:
 
I've noticed that a lot of MARRIED women dress for other people NOT the Husband, 1st the general public, 2nd other women especially their girl friends.oliveoyl.gif

hey lucy, is it ok to design fashion to flatter certain body types, at the expense of other body types? i mean, some designers make clothing to minimize or accentuate the less than socially desirable figures, why is it not ok to make a dress that 'rocks the knocks'?


i am convinced there is no possible way any man can correctly answer the question 'how do i look in this dress'. especially if the answer includes the word 'voluptuous'.

I'm certainly not Lucy,

But I've sprayed ammonia from a spray bottle onto the area. Placed a flat paper towel over the sprayed area. Sprayed the towel to soak it (this will also make it stick to the vertical surface). Let it sit for several minutes. Then clean with ease.

Test a small, out of site area first.

EDIT: I have a thing about chemicals, saponification, etc.
