Well after the good day on the 27th, the 28th was an awful day. My last Saluki died a horrible death.
The new grandson arrived at 2:31 pm PST weighing 6 lbs 14 ozs, 19.5 inches long. He is a cutie.

Forgot to post my change to the tracker due to death of dog.

Thank you All! New grandson and mother are doing great. We head down there on the 16th (San Francisco) to see him.

nasa1974 Beware the granddogs! Sometimes you end up inheirting them when the mom and dad move to a country where they can't take the dogs!

Congrats on the new grand child. 100% with you on the grand dogs (or cats). I had the pleasure a few years ago of taking the grand dog and cat for a year while Mom and Dad were in <undisclosed location>.

That's where their e-mails said they were anyway. It actually turned out to be fun for me. AND they came back and got the grand critters at the end of the year.:laugh:

Yup, we've had to watch the grand-kittens a few times for the same reason. I guess that's all we can do until they buy us grandkids :notrust:

Thinking about going 50 50 - F and C fund for the rest of the month.
If i do, it will be effective 8/20/2012.

Decided to take some gains, 90 % G and 10 % L2020.
Have to start a thread about ageing parents and their needs.

Hope congress keeps their paws off the G fund!

Wish I could say things are better. They are actually worse. Mom had to have a pace maker and she is still in the hospital (since 4/9/2013) as they can't seem to get the excess fluid dialized off of her.

i wish you the best with your mom. its hell getting old but it beats the alternative. my mom is 81 and thankfully in good shape. but i see my time is coming. all we can do is enjoy our loved ones while we can. she and my son are going to japan 4/21 for 3 weeks. she is going back to her home town and get closure on her sister who was swept away in the tsunami and never found. my prayers are with you and your mom give her a big hug for me.

2moryrs, let's hope for the best. When she gets better, make sure she has enough vitamin D3, and a tablespoon or two of extra virgin oil (Trader Joe's California Estate is rated best) a day to help the heart functions.
