Making money even with TSP making errors!

Best of good buys everyone! (to steal a line from a distinguished gentleman!)

I can only read this as you made a fund transfer at TSP.gov late in day on 9/25 (Tuesday). It should have processed at Close of Market the following day, Wednesday, 9/26. You should be at the new fund allocation on Thursday, 9/27. It sounds like it processed correctly.

Has anyone experienced this:
I purposefully entered an IFT to process for 9/27/07 late on 9/25/07. TSP ended up processing IFT for 9/26/07!

Has anyone ever had success with TSP getting an IFT corrected?

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Thanks EW, but I guess I did not process the IFT late enough because I have the confirmation from TSP that they processed for eff date of 9/26/07. The IFT processed close of market 9/25/07 and was eff 9/26/07. I will have to get the times from my emails at work.

Trying to grow my account is like watching grass grow in the North in the Winter!

GL to everyone on their investments, I'm taking a break for a day or three!

I have been doing a lot of reading the threads of distinguished TSPers. This reading proves that I know nothing about the workings of the stock market.
I am currently 90-G 4-F and 6-L2010. My account balance is ticking slowly upward as I am trying to reach 100k before too long. The economy and retirement put the breaks on for awhile.
Enjoy reading all the posts as I try to learn what the heck you all are talking about.

Have not posted to my "talk" account in awhile . . . retirement has kept me quite busy! How did I ever have time for work?

Pschiffdicpal: Okay, I upped my I fund to 16% (Currently: 60-G;18-F; 16-I;6-2010)

Scout333: I put a little bit in 2010 (conservative) to watch how those percentages fair over the long run.

Basically, I am one of those watching my account who pretty much knows nothing! What I do know is that by reading the threads here since June of 2006, the vast knowledge here has helped my account grow!

The sun is shining here today so I am going to check with my horse and see if she fancies a short ride.

I like it!

Be right sit tight!

Theres more of a risk being out of the market than being in depending on ones age!

Well,
"You don't know what you don't know until you know what you don't know." - Pat Parelli

This financial stuff makes my brain hurt.

Since I am retired (CSRS), TSP account is gravy for me. But, I do need to keep what I have as I can't add additional $$ from income!

So, I need to get an understanding for the TSP funds relative to equities (C,S,I?), bonds (G,F?), etc.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

With the approaching bull market you should be in the stock funds - use any combination of these three funds and you will make money into early next year.

Thanks, BT. I am now at 40-G 20-C 20-S 20-I for the time being. Stuck at five figures, can't seem to rise to six figures. That is my goal.

As of cob:

40 G
10 C
40 S
10 I

Making a little progress toward a six figure account. Still don't understand much of this financial stuff but I keep reading and learning.
