I've decided to cancel all my subscriptions and stop watching TV news (except for my local).
You can't get better news coverage than what people post on this MB. I don't have to weed out all the useless stuff. It's great. Plus expert commintary and some of it is pretty hilarious.:laugh: You got James, Phil, Scrappy, Show me and a boat load of others having real life non politician all out American debates going on virtually live. And when things cool off here comes Steady to stir up the embers. Just be wary of the Sherriff. But if you do manage to get caught go see Burrocrat, they'll assist in your defense. (Not always a good thing)

Anyway. Today was green and we looked forward and closed above that mental #1092, in fact we closed above 1103. I guess for me now building some solid support around that level is more important at the moment than reaching my next line in the sand at 1130. IMHO we need that support to get some participation behind us. If not we are headed back down. We could flatline Wed and Thurs as many will be dissecting employment #'s on Friday.

If your interested My wife and I are going to pick out her new vehicle Saturday. The 3 she wants to test drive: 2010 Taurus, Explorer Sport Trac and the Fusion Sport. Personally I hope she picks the Taurus. Anyway if your interested I'll report on what I thought.

One of my co-workers brought a 2010 Taurus to work as she was test driving it, I was surprised at how sharp it looked, and she was pretty happy with it's performance. Looks nothing like the previous generations of Taurus. Check it out.

From what I have seen (not up close yet) since ford will only be selling the crown vic in fleet series they bulked it up to take it's place. The Taurus is now the flagship of Fords Luxury automobile buyers. I have heard both negative and positive feedback through reading car magazines testing. It's worth a look for sure.

I must remind myself that in 2009 a series of good moves had me at +3% in January, not an easy thing to do then, only to find myself in high single digit negative territory when march rolled around. The rest is history as most on this board ended the year in nice positive territory (myself +23%).
Make no mistake I hate feeding the zoo animals. I suspect that if we hit that 1035 area and no support is evident my hightened concern will force my hand but for the next 30 points I'll play the hand I dealt myself.

I must say I find the last 3 weeks market vibrant and interesting. Although I personally am on the wrong side of the pendulem some one is going to pick up valuable shares when they reenter.
World debt seems to have been driving the fear which to me seems somewhat funny. Not like this problem just now occurred. Wreaks of an excuse to cause a short panic. Greece pledging to slash spending and raise fuel taxes was a plus for today but we are still down 6% from mid Jan.
The gains in earnings and revenue for S&P companies have been reporting for the past month could come back in focus (which would be a good thing) but gotta be wary of further debt news out of the EU.

Checked out the new TSP beta site. Whatever. Anyone know the cost. Lets see if we can have a double green day

I spend many hours reflecting on my life. One of my favorite pastimes is looking through all the Military creeds I’ve memorized in my life. Verbal contracts I made with my soldiers, comrades, superiors and the American people. Words like “Never shall I fail my comrades”, “The Backbone of the Army”, “I will never leave a fallen comrade”, “I cherish as a sacred trust the lives of men with whom I serve”and “I am prepared to give my life in their defense”.
I disappear into a memory of my nieces and nephews graduating basic training and seeing the faces of my brother and sister as they watched their children join what I consider a sacred fraternity. I remember the phone calls when they were readying for deployment and calming my siblings with some of the phrases you read above. I was on auto pilot, the words so fresh in my mind. I remember going to Camp Lejeune for my own son’s graduation and admiring the way he kept pruning himself in his dress uniform. Got to be perfect, America might be watching. I’m glad my son and my brother and sisters children had the opportunity to walk in my shoes. Serving America is a right, doing it in the military is a privilege. I have never had the opportunity before or after my service to work with a finer group of Americans. Present company excluded.
Military personnel have a level of burden they carry long after they leave the military, some heavier than others. It is a burden they proudly carry so that the rest of the country will not have to. Sometimes we forget that. Those who have never served don’t know and those who have been out for awhile have learned to harness it.
I enjoy reading all the threads on here. Even those that ruffle my chevrons and rockers.:nuts: Some get heated but the debate is awesome. They are not my threads so as long as the Moderators don’t have a problem with it, who am I? But please try not to criticize what you don't understand. You may never have walked in that soldiers shoes or possibly did not where their size.

Very Good. Yes I know I said that twice but well deserved for you and everyone in your family who has served or are currently serving. God Bless you and your Family. After reading this I sat back and reflected about my Father who Loved being in the Military and serving His Country. He passed at the mere age of 61. He served in the Military for 26 years. At the Time in 1986 when he had no choice but to retire I remember how sad he was. That was the rule that 26 year's was the max a Full Bird could serve. I think a General could serve 30 years. Correct me if wrong.

It was a very sad day being at my fathers retirement. I know some of the things that he had no choice but to do. He did not want to tell me these things but he did through the years. I can not share with you what he did and was involved in but He put his Life on the line more than once.

So Hear Hear to all Military and Joint Service Men and Woman that have served or are currently serving.

If you have not been involved in some serious downright life or death situations for the Good of our Country then Please refrain from involving said self in a manner like you have. This pertains to anyone.

I can only speak through my Father stories and remembering how proud he was putting on his uniform everyday.

If I read some of the TA guys on the MB, then the down trend seems to be slowing. If all you do is follow your favorite character on the tracker, which I often do, you will notice the same thing as there has been a few wade into deeper water.
I believe our internal market is not going to react to company earnings and the such. Overseas liquidity problems is in vogue right now. I believe for the forseeable future (rest of feb and maybe march) that may be the single biggest driver of the market. Short of the rate hike bomb coming out of the Fed anyway.

The market at this time, and possibly for the next few weeks, seems to be tossing away any news that is tied to American companies. If it is not EU liquidity related it don't shake the market. Less information on the size of this elephant problem has alot to do with it. IMO, although slowly, our own problems seem to be improving but I don't see us defaulting on debt anytime soon.
Of course any news about China's economy will move markets.

The market is undulating like a perfect storm, trying to separate the market soldiers from the investment civilians. Question is do we get the F5 tornado that raises everything to new heights or the M8 earthquake that shakes everything to the ground.
This a great time to be a market soldier. It's exhilarating, stimulating, frustrating and challenging all rolled into one. There are times when we may wish it was easier but we enjoy the fight. Lets be honest, if not for the daily battle of the market this MB would probably not exist or atleast the people in it would not be as interesting.

Enjoy the weekend everybody and for those experiencing unusual weather this year, here in KY they are calling for another 4-8 inches between now and monday night. I don't know about you all but I'm getting cabin fever
