Wiff007's Account Talk

Dow Jones down 100 points already? What a strange week. I can't believe its been this weird.

when is that fed day next week that is important? Tuesday of Thursday?

Tuesday and Wednesday. I think today is just profit taking from yesterdays oversold rally. The drop earlier in the week and last Friday is probably just the markets way of pricing in the expected future Fed rate hike.

Hi, here is link to Fed Reserve calendar.

FRB: Meeting calendars, statements, and minutes (2010-2015)

Okay

its a new week lets start with a bang however if we don't start with that I am okay with it, it it means will have a stable week lol

So market is rocking this morning. Now am I only one worried about tomorrow tanking again and this on again off again continuing?

Correct me if I am wrong but if the fed meeting is Wednesday stocks usually are sluggish ahead of the report right? So I am thinking of going 25-S and 25-I tomorrow and maybe catch the wave Wednesday? Or after a fed report is it better to put money into the c fund?.

thanks for all the help, don't wanna use that IFT today and go all into the G to catch this money, but afraid if I don't it's going to fly away tomorrow :(

Don't worry so much about where stocks have been - don't drive by looking in the rear view mirror. Instead look forward. There is a lot going on out there.

Okay

So I stayed in, will be hoping the market doesn't dip again tomorrow and erase these gains.

Figured I might try to throw myself in tomorrow with maybe 40 or 50% in. Thinking C and S.

Worried market will have another good day tomorrow only to give back gains Wednesday :(

So true tomorrow if we have a good day I'll be worried about bailing out because we might have a real good day Wednesday lol so I guess I could worry about both sides of the coin.

Anyone know why when I click the c fund graph on the main page at the bottom that it doesn't show the graph data unlike the s and I graph on yahoo?

Okay so say the market goes great again tomorrow and I want to put some in another fund. Does federal reserve meeting when they go well does the c fund usually the one to get the most money compared to the s fund? Even though the s fund has better dollar amounts as the highest find out there?

I don't know of any tendencies regarding funds on fed announcement days. Over the long run the S has been the big winner, and I think it is the leader on up days more often than the others, but not today.

S Fund killed the other funds last week. Today it's just letting C and I catchup a bit.

Morning everyone

Let us get this ball rolling today. I hope I can judge if I should act on that IFT transfer today. I know patience is the key LOL :D. See what I did there LOL.

right now I'm feeling 80-G and 10-C and 10-S. Big spender right lol

Well Dow off 100 points today, guess no back to back good days yet again. Now the question is is this a sign that tomorrow will be a good day?

Just like that? You've already written today off as a loss?

Yeah :( sad it seems that lost those gains from yesterday that is three times this month I missed out on gains due to not jumping ship. No I have 2 hrs to decide if I want to jump in. I know they say buy low right well looks like it's pretty low but I'm worried it could get lower tomorrow :(. What happens if after tomorrow we don't get a bounce :((

First, you need some sort of--any--system:

Trading Systems: What Is A Trading System? | Investopedia

"It takes all emotion out of trading - Emotion is often cited as one of the biggest flaws of individual investors. Investors who are unable to cope with losses second guess their decisions and end up losing money. By strictly following a pre-developed system, system traders can forgo the need to make any decisions; once the system is developed and established, trading is not empirical because it is automated. By cutting down on human inefficiencies, system traders can increase profits."

I'm curious Userque. Do you have your own system and how does it work - if you don't mind sharing.

Tom never re-opened my thread after banning me previously, but I think you can still read the posts.

But I can briefly here say that I use a custom, hybrid, NN (artificial neural network) type 'algorithm' via Excel w/Solver optimization, utilizing my own concoctions of k-nearest neighbors and N-grams.
