What Happened To Global Warming, it's NOT!!

Should Al Gore Give Back His Nobel Peace Prize Award?

Mr. Gore is hypocritical. He says one thing but does the opposite. He preaches global warming, and that we need to cut down on energy usage, however he has large houses, and he flies around in his private jet. He has a very large carbon footprint.
He apparently practices the liberal system, that everyone else needs to cut back, but he himself does not. This is my biggest clue that he does not believe it either. If he actually believed it, he would practice it.

YES!!!! And any others that were given strictly for political agenda reasons!!! Al Gore HOTbucks.jpg

Some thoughts on some recent post:

To those pointing at record snow in DC as evidence global warming isn't happening, get a grip. One year does not a trend make. Snow excess does not mean lower than normal low temperatures anyway. Add to that the fact that we are talking global average. For a group that is quick to point out failures to look globally, you sure jump on the bandwagon when it says what you believe. Besides, look to the Olympics. Cherry blossoms are blooming! Warmest winter there in a long time. Temperatures fluctuate.

On the sea level rise paper retraction. I thought it looked goofy when I first saw it. 2 and a half FEET of sea level rise by the end of the century was doomsday talk. The trend has been more on the order of inches of rise. The only way 2+ feet occurs is with major greenland ice sheet failure. That being said, even a number that is a quarter of that prediction is still huge. I don't think this means conspiracy.

I not a global warming defender. But I do think we should err on the side of caution and not stick our head in the sand. To those saying we should not regulate CO2. I'm in agreement. However, I think we need to continue to move forward with green technologies and reduction of greenhouse gasses.

That's where I'm at FS, and of course, STOP CAP AND TRADE!!!:D

I think most of us agree: To limit our thinking or science to a finite set of data interpretation is not doing anyone any good.

In 1974, I got a week off of school during the global freezing.

Legislating responsibility is the major concern here. If we can condition ourselves to have a lower footprint in life, then yes, the move to conservation needs to keep going. Until all countries preach the same way, I'm not for giving up our sovereignty.:D

ClimateGate Ocean Rise: Sea Level Rise Never Began: Scientists Withdraw Claims of Sea Levels Rising

In June 2008, a foolish and egomaniacal soon-to-be president, Barack Obama, said "This was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow...." Well, no. Climate scientists have now withdrawn their claims that sea levels are rising, were rising and will ever rise. Bottomline: There is no proof that climate change and/or global warming is causing sea levels to rise.

Ocean Rise - Sea Levels Rise: No

Scientists have found they made mistakes and have withdrawn claims. Nature Magazine has retracted an article - the first retraction in their history.
Scientists have been forced to withdraw a study on projected sea level rise due to global warming after finding mistakes that undermined the findings.
The study, published in 2009 in Nature Geoscience, one of the top journals in its field, confirmed the conclusions of the 2007 report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It used data over the last 22,000 years to predict that sea level would rise by between 7cm and 82cm by the end of the century.
At the time, Mark Siddall, from the Earth Sciences Department at the University of Bristol, said the study "strengthens the confidence with which one may interpret the IPCC results". The IPCC said that sea level would probably rise by 18cm-59cm by 2100, though stressed this was based on incomplete information about ice sheet melting and that the true rise could be higher.
Many scientists criticised the IPCC approach as too conservative, and several papers since have suggested that sea level could rise more. Martin Vermeer of the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland and Stefan Rahmstorf of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany published a study in December that projected a rise of 0.75m to 1.9m by 2100.
Siddall said that he did not know whether the retracted paper's estimate of sea level rise was an overestimate or an underestimate.
Nature Publishing Group, which publishes Nature Geoscience, said this was the first paper retracted from the journal since it was launched in 2007....
In a statement the authors of the paper said: "Since publication of our paper we have become aware of two mistakes which impact the detailed estimation of future sea level rise. This means that we can no longer draw firm conclusions regarding 21st century sea level rise from this study without further work.
"One mistake was a miscalculation; the other was not to allow fully for temperature change over the past 2,000 years. Because of these issues we have retracted the paper and will now invest in the further work needed to correct these mistakes."

Maybe dumb Al's confusion about the weather was caused by this old tune...???

I come from Alabama with a banjo on my knee,
I'm going to Louisiana, my true love for to see
It rained all night the day I left, the weather it was dry
The SUN SO HOT I FROZE TO DEATH; Susanna don't you cry. :D

one word...UNBELIEVEABLE:rolleyes:

Well, I don't know about globally, but this is the first time in 11 years here that I started mowing my yard in FEBRUARY (this weekend)!-despite the fact that it frosted as per normal last night.

I don't usually start mowing til late-April into May.....2 months early this year.....:suspicious: Dry warm El Nino winter'll do that, I guess. Out of the ordinary for El Nino pattern? hard to say-I've only lived here 11 years.
