Well, I don't know about globally, but this is the first time in 11 years here that I started mowing my yard in FEBRUARY (this weekend)!-despite the fact that it frosted as per normal last night.

I don't usually start mowing til late-April into May.....2 months early this year.....:suspicious: Dry warm El Nino winter'll do that, I guess. Out of the ordinary for El Nino pattern? hard to say-I've only lived here 11 years.
I'm tired of this ..There is more arguements now than ever ..East coast is buried in RECORD BREAKING Snow Fall..Here in the Southwest Record Breaking Snow and cold temps.....the Northwest has trouble with enough snow for the Winter Olympic games..The Ice caps are bigger than ever, Greenland's ICE is thinning out...Who the hell really knows what's happening....:confused:

Are you sure that's not that winter rye popping up at the end of winter, happends here every year? It will die when it warms up.

I was watching a DOC on Ice packs and they can find prehistoric vegetation under Glaciers...So, What was once green plush grassy areas now has a 1000 feet of ICE on top of it and now is being exposed again...can you say "Natural Cycle" ?

sorry to disillusion you nnutt. Rye (L. perenne) is only used in western part of state-west of Cascades.

In my yard, it's the same old same spring-growing old Ky bluegrass (POPR) that's been my sodgrass for years and years and years. I'm a grass-ologist (aka rangeland manager/ecologist) among my other academic quals. I know my grasses. :)

OK then it must be global warming, for sure!:D
But I don't use it here, I have centipede it's just here every year then it dies out, do I look like a horticulturist?:D

I only care about a certain annual grass and it hasn't germinated yet..

GLOBAL MOUTH IS BACK!!! :suspicious:

About Gore's op-ed in the New York Times (yadda-yadda) listing more excuses to explain that Global Warning is still real even though a "few mistakes" were made in previous calculations...:D

/And where does Gore put his hopes for human redemption? Hilariously, Gore is counting on Senators John Kerry (D-Mass.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.), who may release a draft energy-rationing bill this week that Gore hopes "will place a true cap on carbon emissions."/

Thanks budnipper1~~
HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!:nuts:
"Gore concludes with a long, incoherent rant about why he and his fellow doomsters have so far failed. It all started with the fall of communism. This allowed "market fundamentalists" to convince ignorant voters that, "laws and regulations interfering with the operations of the market carried a faint odor of the discredited statist adversary we had just defeated."
So what is to be done? Here Gore becomes totally unglued. "...[W]hat is at stake is our ability to use the rule of law as an instrument of human redemption." The point about a regime of laws in particular and politics in general is that they cannot be instruments of human redemption. Gore's global “Salvationism” (to use English economist David Henderson's insightful term) is not far removed from the totalitarianism of communism – or worse -- as he makes clear in his 1992 book, “Earth in the Balance.” {Read}
