At the extended family Christmas gathering last pm, Mom and I were chatting about the number of politicians (some, freshman Senators/Representatives) who seem to be willing (yea, and rabid) to sacrifice themselves on the altar of socialism (er, liberalism) in order to see the agenda of the Spirit of BHO established - regardless of the ramifications to either the US or to themselves personally during the next election cycle's outcomes.

Two very true statements. I have friends that are in the same boat. They are not socialists, nor liberals. Heck they didn't even consider themselves democrats but rather independants, but since they chose to vote for Obama over McCain (an anti-Bush vote basically), they are now embracing these principles rather than admit they may not have known what this man was about.

We are easily misled (on both sides) out of ego. I can't be 100% sure, but I may be a conservative today because I made a big monetary bet in 2000 (on an online casino) against Al Gore winning the election, getting 2 to 1 on Bush I. I took the bet because I saw it as a tight race and I'll always take 2 to 1 on an even money bet.

Is that why I am now a conservative now? I don't know for sure, but I wasn't overly concerned with politics before that. Perhaps it woke me up to the issues? Maybe that's what happened to my friends? We can be so easily manipulated.

But I digresss. Let's give this thread back to global warming (or should I say, earth preservation ).

Well, Global Warming in all it's fury has hit the Southwest....

Since 6 am (current time is 12PM), we have had about 5-6 inches of sleet and snow with 50 to 60 MPH winds, 20 degrees ambient..so the wind chill is like -8....a white out condition right now, I can't even open the doors because of the snow drifts, Snow flakes now as big as pizzas..Haven't had a blizzard like this in 10 years.

Umm, that's why I'm still here, instead of headed east across Utah and beyond. Waiting til the weekend to head east. Best laid plans.
