Researcher: NASA hiding climate data

The fight over global warming science is about to cross the Atlantic with a U.S. researcher poised to sue NASA, demanding release of the same kind of climate data that has landed a leading British center in hot water over charges it skewed its data.

Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said NASA has refused for two years to provide information under the Freedom of Information Act that would show how the agency has shaped its climate data and would explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data going as far back as the 1930s.

Wake up people before bHo, add's another nail to the coffin of our kids futures, if you even care.

From Democraticunderground:
Sean Hannity
lying.gif

The ever-informative Sean Hannity was at the top of his game last week as he reported multiple times that 2009 is "one of the coldest years on record." So much for global warming!

"You can also look it up, this is one of the coldest years in history, this past year," he said on his radio show on November 24. "...this is the coldest year on record ... or one of them," he insisted on November 18. "This is one of the coldest years on record, ladies and gentlemen," he announced on Fox News on November 10.

Wow, that is shocking! And... completely false. According to Media Matters:

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: 2009 year-to-date global temperatures tied as fifth warmest January-through-October period.

NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies: 2009 year-to-date global surface temperature ranks fifth warmest out of 130 years.

The Met Office: 2009 will be one of top five warmest years globally.

But come on, who are you going to believe? NOAA, GISS, and the Met Office, or Sean Hannity?

I rest my case.
The data:

http://mediamatters.org/research/200911250020

Hey, just my 2 cents...... Not sure of the validity of ANYBODY's data these days, but it is hard for me to believe the NOAA is cooking the books.

It seems that there is data everywhere and some of it may be tweaked.:o

Earth's 'Fever' Breaks! Global temperatures 'have plunged .74°F since Gore released An Inconvenient Truth'

June 2009 saw another drop in global temps

Sunday, July 05, 2009By Marc MoranoClimate Depot
The latest global averaged satellite temperature data for June 2009 reveals yet another drop in the Earth's temperature. This latest drop in global temperatures means despite his dire warnings, the Earth has cooled .74°F since former Vice President Al Gore released "An Inconvenient Truth" in 2006.
According to the latest global satellite data courtesy of the University of Alabama in Huntsville and made into an easy to read graph by algorelied.com: "For the record, this month's Al Gore / 'An Inconvenient Truth' Index indicates that global temperatures have plunged approximately .74°F (.39°C) since Gore's film was released," noted algorelied.com. (See satellite temperature chart here with key dates noted, courtesy of www.Algorelied.com - Also see: 8 Year Downtrend Continues in Global Temps)
Gore -- who is fond of saying the Earth has a "fever" -- has not yet addressed the simple fact that global temperatures have dropped since the release of his global warming film. (Gore has also not addressed this: Another Moonwalker Defies Gore: NASA Astronaut Dr. Buzz Aldrin rejects global warming fears: 'Climate has been changing for billions of years' - Moonwalkers Defy Gore's Claim That Climate Skeptics Are Akin To Those Who Believe Moon Landing was 'Staged')
A record cool summer has descended upon many parts of the U.S. after predictions of the "year without a summer." There has been no significant global warming since 1995, no warming since 1998 and global cooling for the past few years. (Also see: Scientists Write Open Letter to Congress: 'Earth has been cooling for ten years' - 'Present cooling was NOT predicted by the alarmists' computer models, and has come as an embarrassment to them' - July 1, 2009)
In addition, New peer-reviewed scientific studies now predict a continued lack of global warming for up to three decades as natural climate factors dominate. [more] (Editor's Note: Claims that warming will “resume” due to explosive heat in the "pipeline" have also been thoroughly debunked. See: Climatologist Dr. Roger Pielke Sr. 'There is no warming in the pipeline' )

NOAA is good with a great rep, Let me see if there's any rumors about them? Rumors, Half Truths and innuendoes are not what i'm looking for but that's what's there until the truth comes out.:notrust:

CNN producer note

iReport — First and foremost -- contrary to what you’ve likely read elsewhere in the blogosphere or heard from the few policymakers and pundits actually addressing the issue, it was not the temperature decline the planet has been experiencing since 1998 that Jones and friends conspired to hide. Certainly, the simple fact that the e-mail was sent in November of 1999 should allay any such confusion.
So why is the media focused on the emails? Go here if you care to see the answer.
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/12/understanding_climategates_hid.html

Next up, the CO2 collection stations.

The U.S. NOAA openly admits to producing a CO2 record which " contains no actual data." NOAA temperature stations sited in ways that artificially inflate temperatures have been exposed over the past two years. CO2 observatories have similar flaws. Two of the five NOAA "baseline" stations are downwind from erupting volcanoes. All five are subject to localized or regional CO2 sources.

"...in 1975 our government pushed "the coming ice age."

"Random House dutifully printed "THE WEATHER CONSPIRACY … coming of the New Ice Age." This may be the only book ever written by 18 authors. All 18 lived just a short sled ride from Washington, D.C. Newsweek fell in line and did a cover issue warning us of global cooling on April 28, 1975. And The New York Times, Aug. 14, 1976, reported "many signs that Earth may be headed for another ice age." I can't believe the media, they never cease to amaze me..on all the news networks tonight, all they can talk about is the Greenhouse gases and global warming BS in light of Copenhagen..they played excerpts from the head of the EPA and She along with a dozen other so-called experts are still beating the drum, with BHO right there as he's going forward in Copenhagen on the tainted Climate data....However, not one of them were asked or did mentioned anything about the recent uncovering of the bogus climate data..

Well folks, this makes it official for me..I'm done trying to give Obama a chance...:(

While I'm still pissed, let me add this..

I see an uncanny parallel here...can you?

First..BUSH was chastised and burned at the stake for going into Iraq to free a country from a murderous tyrant and a threat to the Middle East based on tainted and false data about Saddam having WMD...but the end result was a freed country and a heavy cost to the American tax payer and we've yet to see one drop of their oil...But bush was deemed a failure because of this.

Second..Obama is going into Copenhagen to fight the war on Global warming and greenhouse gases, based on tainted and false data...this will end in result of extremely high costs to the US consumer of electricity, and goods, coupled with millions of lost of jobs...The only difference between these two scenarios is, I wonder how many of these Bush crucifiers will cry foul with this administration, even after the Climate data is proven bogus?

Given the choice between spending $100 to feed a hungry child in the present or combat a notional climate problem that might or might not have real consequences a century hence, most of us would surely choose the former. We would do so, moreover, with the confidence that the technologies of the future will be better suited to deal with whatever climate problems might then exist.

A typical retort is that "we can't afford to wait until it's too late," but one may as well ask whether the child in our example should go hungry while the developed world spends its money on global warming mitigation in the Third World. Yet that is exactly what the conferees at Copenhagen seem prepared to do, to the tune of billions of dollars per year.

If I have this straight I can still breathe in oxygen without paying a tax but if I want to breathe out then I have to hold it until I can pay the tax.

But what are the poor plants going to do without the carbon dioxide?

Decisions, decisions. Another hard one today. I guess as long as they do not catch me breathing I will be ok.

My 2 cents and probably said before...

GlowBull Warming / Climate Change is Big Business - gazillions of dollars invovled. No matter if it gets warmer or cooler they have the Answers and will morph the Lie into whatever necessary to keep the cash coming.

Our Mighty Leaders want GW entertwined into the economy, forever.
Its real b/c the voices on your teevee say so. Gubmint says so.
Just Cow-down all you Nay sayers, they got your Goat...cuz this Bull is here to stay. :D

Its a Cash Cow, just ask Al Gore  - ya he gored us alright

This is just a mechanism that will allow the UN to tax the US. Carbon Dioxide, what BS that is. This is just another tax increase coming down the pike.

FALSE SCIENCE has always been a MONEY MAKER and we keep falling for it!!
I'm PISSED are you? Well, you should be!!! anger.gif

Listen to Cass Sunstein, Obama's new regulatory czar and perhaps the most powerful bureaucrat in America:

It is even possible that desirable redistribution is more likely to occur through climate change policy than otherwise, or to be accomplished more effectively through climate policy than through direct foreign aid.

He added:

We agree that if the United States does spend a great deal on emissions reductions as part of an international agreement, and if the agreement does give particular help to disadvantaged people, considerations of distributive justice support its action, even if better redistributive mechanisms are imaginable.

Furthermore, Sunstein thinks that, "If we care about social welfare, we should approve of a situation in which a wealthy nation is willing to engage in a degree of self-sacrifice when the world benefits more than that nation loses."

The UN Climate Change Conference wants to go as far as orchestrating a "planned recession," in order to begin the process. Cass Sunstein agrees.

But who needs these people when the President of the United States is willing to destroy the American Dream by his own hand? President Obama has pledged to sign the Copenhagen Treaty, the biggest transfer of American wealth and sovereignty in US history.

We are being put into the hands of the UN and sacrificing our childrens future.

Well this is one I've already weighed in on after the city Katrina was most famous for destroying.

Consider the facts:
It's below sea level and right next to a huge body of water very well known to be suceptible for these kind of storms.

History shows this is a recurring problem.

Here I would say: 'Don't fight against nature -- work with it'.

Redistrube that population inland and save millions (if not billions) by leaving it as a dumping ground or whatever.

All in favor --- 9783094093928092109383

and all opposed -- 38403

Katrina:confused: Without New Orleans as a exporting deep draft port, world starvation would increase, because a major percentage of grain is export thru this port via the Mississippi River from the Midwest and speaking of increasing unemployment. Move them outta the bowl, but this country needs this port.

But this was all about what is happening in Copenhagen. Read further in the article. The UN has been trying to get control of us since their inception.

"What is astonishing about this "climate" treaty is that so little of it actually addresses climate. Emissions pledges remain merely pledges. The real focus of the treaty is the transfer of wealth. The words "climate debt" are used throughout the agreement, giving pseudo-credibility to the premise of wealth redistribution. But just what is "climate debt"? The essence of the concept is that rich countries raped the earth by emitting carbon, and deprived poor countries of economic opportunity. ( My comment - Freedom is what made this country what it is, I've yet to see a prosperous dictator type country, why? no real viable middle class that has the freedom of choice to chase their dreams, why do you think everyone is trying to get into this country? Would Bill Gates been able to chase his dream in China or Russia?) It would be funny, if it weren't actually the position of the Copenhagen Conference.

When all is said and done, what happens if we succeed in destroying American wealth and creating a world government to coerce the shift? Wouldn't world peace be a good thing? But the peace of submission is not a peace worth having, and the perceived economic benefits will be brief, owing to global economic dependence on American consumers.

Once America is gone, it will be gone forever. Nations will benefit most from the continuing existence of a strong America. Killing the golden goose will not bring balance to the universe. Plundering American wealth will provide only a temporary shot in the arm for poor nations, and then the drug will wear off, ushering in a new dark age on a global scale.

Whatever President Obama has been promised will evaporate the moment America loses the privilege of the last word. President Obama will be committing treason by signing this treaty, and he must be held accountable. The American Revolution was fought over this very issue: taxation without representation."

He will sign away our sovereignty, our control over our own destiny, to the UN who has been shown to be a corrupt organization. Show me in the US Constituition where anyone or other government body has control to tell us how to live our lifes or to set controls on our economy and economic growth. China, India and Russia are exempt from this tax, because we will be paying it to them. We'd better not take our eyes off this treaty.

Obama actually said this

President Obama is presumably on board, having pledged to "bankrupt" the coal industry, among other telling remarks:

So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted. (That sure sounds like he has America's best interest at heart, very heavy sarcasm is intended)

Now to even utter these words is very worrisome, not to mention killing the economy and putting people outta work. These word sure do make him sound anti-american.

We clean up with new tech, not destroy, especially if you have nothing on hand to replace it, you gotta have a real plan, if your going to destroy over 50% of our power production. You also shut down a major portion of our manufacturing. That's what is at stake at Copenhagen. The more I research and read about this treaty, it really amounts to a bigger threat than socialized medicine is! Again, where does it say in the Constitution that we turn our countries course over to anyone but the American people?

Maybe we'll need to touch that hot stove several times before we realize how little this prez knows how and what makes an economy or market run and if there is a better plan out there I haven't seen it or the people would be rushing to go there and not here.

Not much else to discuss. I'm all talked out bud.
