Iran rejects US proposal to end war, calls it 'excessive,' official tells Iranian state TV

The statements come as the US pushes to a diplomatic end to the hostilities with Tehran after almost four weeks of fighting.

Iran has reviewed a US proposal to end the war and considers its conditions excessive, Iran's Press TV cited an official as saying on Wednesday, saying Tehran will end the war only at a time of its own choosing and if its conditions are met.

An Iranian official confirmed to Reuters that the response to the US proposal was not positive and that Tehran was still reviewing it.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, a high-ranking Iranian diplomatic source described the plan as “extremely maximalist and unreasonable.”

“It is not beautiful even on paper,” the source said, adding that what has been portrayed in the media does not actively reflect what is written in the proposal.

Iran rejects US ceasefire plan and submits its own amid push for talks

Tehran puts forward five-point counter-proposal and says war will end when it decides and on its terms

(The Guardian- UK )
—. Iran dismissed a US ceasefire proposal on Wednesday and countered with a negotiation plan of its own as intermediaries sought to keep diplomatic channels between the warring countries open.

Iranian state TV quoted an anonymous official as saying Tehran had rejected the plan it had received via Pakistan, saying it would “end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met”, and until then would continue fighting across the region.

The five-point plan Iran put forward included an end to the fighting and the assassination of its officials, guarantees that no other war is started against it, reparations for the current conflict, and Iranian control over the strait of Hormuz.

Iran says they want to talk with JD Vance, not the previous pair of negotiators (Golfing buddy Steve Witkoff, and son-gin-law Jared Kushner). Iran says the previous negotiators lied and then had everybody blown up. They won’t deal with those two. They want JD Vance to be the person.

Thousands of our military have been killed by Iran over the decades. Iran has been a direct threat to the region for decades, has used intermediary cut-outs as threats for decades, and has funded/supplied organizations that have killed/wounded our military and civilians for decades.

They are nothing but unfinished business.

End it. They can help choose how it ends - much like the Germans, Italians, and Japanese helped choose in WWII.

Iran has the high ground.
Numerous proxy fighters scattered throughout the region.
40-60% bordered with countries non-friendly to the US.
Closest bordered ally is Turkey (a con-compliant ally)
The size of Alaska, half mountainous with numerous choke points.
Spent decades thriving under US sanctions with the mantra "Death to America"
Roughly 600K Military on their home turf.

We blew up Iraq and & Afghanistan, put boots on the ground for 20 years, and did not achieve one single long-term objective.

The only country winning right now is Israel.
