TSP Talk Silver Coins / "Rounds" (Part II)

...your silver will open up and spread apart and fall into pieces quicker than a prom queen after 3 beers at the homecoming bonfire. what you choose to do with it after that is up to you and the treasure.

Your descriptive eloquence has brought long ago memories to light that probably should have remained locked up.

i think tom might have a few left for sale at current spot price +$4. if not i will sell you some of mine for same deal. i got 50 originally but only have 24 left, and one of those is chopped into pieces. i'm assuming you don't want that one. i gave two away, repaid a personal financial debt with 25 of them, and won one on a superbowl bet. also i need to hang on to at least one because i made a bet with someone about who would be the next potus but i don't remember who in case i lose. i can't wait until tom starts a new list, i am going to buy some more.

If you look back in this thread, you will find that there are quite a few people asking for coins. As Burro says, it appears that Tom will be offering them at spot + 4, which is basically what we all paid for them originally.

I think Tom will be opening up the remaining coins for sale next week. As for buying more....I think demand will dictate that! :wall:

I'm just trying to figure out the best way to do this (payment-wise) and I won't be able to ship them next week, so I will get on this in a week or so.

TSP silver has traversed the Pacific and washed ashore in Okinawa! I got my 6 in the mail today. They are quite nice. Thank you Tom!

Tom, How can I buy some of these silver coins. Thanks

Alright!! Your first post in 3 years and it is about our shiny .999 SILVER coins! I couldn't be happier!!

Not to be answering for Tom, but if you look a couple of entries earlier, you will see Tom's tentative plans on selling what he has left and (possibly) ordering more. So if you are interested in a sizable amount, like a sleeve of 20, or more, let him know. Most of the early buyers picked up at least a sleeve. I went for a Sleeve + 10, so I'd have a few extra to play with (give away, show off at work, etc.)

Welcome Aboard, retired11001! (Is the 11001 for 49yrs?)

Didn't we see 13.50 as a possible H&S breakdown level? Maybe we should wait, although gold looks like it is seeing some capitulation.

Wasn't thinking tomorrow, but with gold and silver heading down (I have also heard 13.5 for silver, and 950 for gold) that we could start the discussion...

so... i am wondering if anybody is interested in ordering up a second batch of tsptalk silver?

the last time it was $4 plus spot price which included shipping to tsptalk from the mint, and the creation of two dies at about $400 each (obverse-heads, and reverse-tails) for a total of $20 per coin. this time it would be cheaper even if creating one new 2nd run reverse die.

this time i would suggest reusing the obverse heads die for no charge, shipping costs are static, but creating a new reverse tails design die for about an extra $400 (less than $1 per coin) to distinguish the second batch of mint runs from the first.

in case nobody noticed, i had about 45 ounces to start with, then i paid or gave away or lost bets for many of them, and am now down to about a dozen coins or less. and i have a few outstanding bets on the holm-tate ufc fight and the presidential election, so i would like to buy some more before i run out, and i am also a collector of unique coins so would like a different design on the reverse so i could have two different original tsptalk silver coins.

is anybody else interested? i am good for at least one sleeve of 20? or 25? whichever it was. count me in.

bump.

no interest in more tsptalk silver yet? maybe some of the silverbugs will come crawling out of the woodwork on the weekend.

Let me think about it. I'm not too concerned about a new back however, but I can see why a collector might.

Tom sprung (sprang??) (PAID FOR) for the dies the first time. So he would probably prefer to re-use them. They are not like US Mint coins....just 'silver rounds' so whether or not they are different has little affect on the value.

I still have my original purchase, but could help support a new order if you decide to go ahead. Actually, silver was down to $13.50 a couple months ago. Since then, it has recovered to the $15 area (currently $15.60).

Concur, good with current dies to reduce cost.

Let me know what the group decides and I will see whether I can do another sleeve... NUGT/DUST is being so/so this year

Just curious.....where are all the people who wanted coins but missed the first 'round'. (pun intended)

Looks like the price will be around $20 again. (16+4) :poke:
