The Oldies But Goodies Network

Re: Music Videos

My all time favorite is still In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.
My older daughter used to work for Guitar Center, and it would drive her crazy every time someone came in to either try or buy a guitar and play the riff from "Smoke On The Water".

Re: Music Videos

Not really an "Oldie" but it certainly doesn't seem like 20 years ago. (released on April 13, 2004) Time fly's I guess.
This band didn't last. Shame.
As I recall: Discovered by Sully Urna (Godsmack), he signed them to his label, but then the singer had issues with constant touring or something like that. The chorus harmonies were often compared to Alice In Chains after Lane passed in 2002.

Re: Music Videos

3 years before Lady Gaga was even born (art repeats itself)........my favorite hoarding cat-lady along with the drummer from the Frank Zappa band who were married at one point (hence the same last name).
From 1983

From 1986, so I guess that's kind of an "Oldie". It was just reposted, and it looks pretty clear even though it's 480P resolution.
I only posted it because even to this day I find it hard to believe that it's actually David Lee Roth playing the fat guy (costume and make-up).
The faces he makes during the intro still make me laugh. I also believe his nickname at this time in his career was David "Weave" Roth, cause of his very full head of hair which was not the actual case at all. He obviously got extensions or a weave to compensate for his hair loss.
He was going to make a full length movie with these characters, but couldn't secure the funding. I bet it would have been pretty funny.

The skit was more memorable than that song, although Eddie's guitar is always impressive!
Yeah....I agree, the song is Meh....🙄 Some of my old stuff is better than that, and this is after he left VH, so that's not Eddie. It's Steve Vai on guitar and Billy Sheehan on Bass. I don't know the drummer 😞
Yeah, Dave's a weird dude, that's for sure. LOL

I looked it up. Gregg Bissonette. Wow, you got a good memory. I could have never guessed.

A little faster tempo than what I remember from the radio, but I've never seen this clip before...... 🤣

Yes! Great drummer. He's now the long-standing drummer with Ringo's all-star band. If you ever want to go into the rabbit hole, he talks about what it's like playing with Ringo.
