Steadygain's Account Talk

The best is yet to come - I wouldn't stand in the way of the 3 1/2 trillion dollars that are out there on the sidelines. The best money is usually made early in a new bull leg. Let the lily padders breath a sigh of relief - their anxiety will rise when the pain in their necks from stretching looking up becomes intolerable. The rumble you recently felt was the Ferdinand seismograph giving a buy signal. Be right and sit tight - remember the bull wants to take as few on the ride as possible.

Thank you my dear friend, this has been a very rough week for me with some personal issues I've had to deal with. But my daughter graduates from college next week and the whole ceremony largely focuses on her achievements and how she has impacted the entire Educational Department for years to come. It is absolutely amazingly how wonderful they can turn out - and all I can do is give God the Glory - because she so far exceeded anything I could have hoped, dreamed, or prayed for.

Anyway - A WONDERFUL WEEKEND TO EVERYONE.

Kar crazy, I wrote your daughter a long letter (in my mind) while mowing the lawn. Went over a lot of things we have in common and how tough it was for me dealing with a lot of the issues she's had to deal with. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS - NOW AT 17 SHE IS RIGHT ON THE VERGE OF DECIDING WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH THE REMAINDER OF HER LIFE. If she is open to at least considering the Air Force - that's probably her best option. Not the Army - because they have the underlying "soldier mentality" - whereas the Air Force can train her for a solid career in Dental Work; Physician's Assistant, and many other jobs that would give her a very solid income; help her to establish and build what she needs the most "Character" and help her move through life with dignity and respect. I certainly can't fault her for making the most out of the adolescent years - BUT SHE HAS A LOT TO GAIN AND A LOT TO OFFER WITH THE BRAIN, ENERGY, AND POTIENTIAL SHE HAS. I joined the Army largely because I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do and it helped me out way more than I ever dreamed it would. I was a whole lot like her before hand - just wasting my life and shrugging my shoulders to everything while getting high - but once your in boot camp there is no wasting time - no way you can shug your shoulders - and no way you (or those around you) are going to be drinking or getting high. They break you down (your weakness) and force you to attain a much higher level than you even knew you had - in the end you see your real strength and you know nothing is out of your reach.

thanks steady , she is a good kid i have mentioned air force, and i dont have a problem letting your hair down as long as you dont let run your life. right now i am glad to go in 8 days for GED we all went thru this in one way or another no matter what she does i will always love her and be just a shout away, some day she will turn around and relize, i know i dont know it all and dont want too ,kinda like drag racing 1/4 at a time baby steps

I think you're doing everything you can Kar Crazy. You're showing her that she can't find the line she can cross and lose your love and support; and for some crazy reason she seems bound and determined to find it. As parents we can only do so much; but by far the greatest thing we can do is give of ourselves and show our unending support and devotion. At this point the ball is totally in her court and she is going to have to make up her mind what she wants. If she throws her life with the wrong crowd - get's in trouble - and let's that environment shape her it will be a lot harder to dig out and turn things around. I just wish there was someway we could make her see this is the time to build your character, get established, and move on with your life feeling good about yourself and having a solid future. A girl we know joined the Air Force - is dong Dental Speciality Work and loves it. Anyway, best of luck regarding your daughter. I would not write her a letter for real; it's simply when I mow my mind will drift on things and your daughter was in first place for quite awhile - before it went on to other things.

I went 100% G Fund @ COB today.

Would rather hold what I have and not lose anymore in either the Markets - or Bonds - until we have a better sense of what's going on. WVgirl, Uptrend, and many others did what appeared to be a very smart move.

Uptrend, you have done very well for the past few months and I certainly would expect you to end the year with 10 -15% Gain or better. That's quite an accomplishment considering January's huge drop.

Well this is definately one of those days I'm thrilled to be in G FUND.

Uptrend's analysis today says way more than I can explain since I more go on "gut feelings" and maybe a small degree of what I hope is sound reasoning. But both of us are expecting (hoping for) a continued FALL that should give us all an even better BUYING OPPORTUNITY.

There is no way I can forsee what next week or 2 weeks from now are going to look like so I do see those resticted to snail mail as being at a disadvantage. Hence my ITF yesterday has safeguarded me from any loss. BUT TODAY IS NOT OVER AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY DAYS WHEN I THOUGHT I DID GREAT GOING TO SAFETY AND THE DAY ENDED WITH SOLID GAINS - and even missed the 4+ % Gain in one of the best weeks.

Well GL everyone and have a great day!!

no problem you can talk on either page i think i started it on your blog :Dhange tuff and thanks . hopefully may 2nd i will winn at lease a couple rounds for you:) then it starts paying out:DG L in trading brother

Where is the End??
I couldn't get the S&P - 4 Year Chart to upload.
The top is 1,555
A 30% Reduction takes us below 1,100
which is way too low and unrealistic

A 20% Reduction takes us to about 1,250
which looks PERFECT and still a healthy correction
GAME PLAN: Stay in G a little longer
If S&P gets close to 1,250 will shift to 100% Stocks

Then purchase Cuban Cigars (I don't smoke - but if I did for some reason they sound like the best) go to FL and sit on the backporch with Birch and get real comfortable with riding it out for the rest of the year. Occasionally Birch and I would toast each other and say something like, "Nothing like a BULL Market" take another puff and just enjoy the day.

Other Investments for Year 2008

Profit sharing plan (401 K) with a previous company

Balanced - Dodge & Cox is -8.02% @72.61 (EXCELLENT PRICE)

Large Cap is -9.29%, -9.54%, and -9.16% investments

Mid Cap is -4.41%

Small Cap is - 11.47%

International is - 12.10%

Fixed Income is 3.43% (which is where I've been all year)

Money Market is 0.92%

The Dodge & Cox Balanced is one I hoped would get to $75 or below and will wait a little longer. If we have another decent drop - will put everything there and leave it.

Bottomline - I am feeling more and more Bullish - The correction we've experienced is creating very good long range buying opportunities.

Hello my dear family,
I need to make this quick because I've got about 10 charts to catch up on and still have more patients comming in.

Well it is hard for me not to see this PERIOD as a time of consolidation and the true makings of a real BULL MARKET.

The problem is ALL OF US have been wanting this so bad - and it seems like we've waited for so long (10/07) that IT IS HARD NOT TO OVER REACT AND CHEER IT'S ARRIVAL even if it is not really happening. A few weeks of GOOD GAINS is hard to not get really excited about.

For now I'm 100% G Fund and will see how NEXT WEEK GOES. My reports indicate the DROP IN OIL will be short lived and RECORD HIGHS WILL CONTINUE TO RISE. As Gas approaches $4.00 or better this summer - in addition to rising costs across the board I see many moving to safety and the MARKETS GOING DOWN.

That is Good News and Bad News. For the short term traders that means a loss of money. But as Birch and many others know for the SMART MONEY it means a buying opportunity and there is a lot of money waiting to jump in. When this money pours in the Markets WILL RISE AND KEEP RISING for months on end.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone - my love to all

And please know as Sarah graduates from college this weekend it will probably feel like my greatest achievement - because whatever good I have, whatever brains, insight, potiential, and abilities SHE GOT THE VERY BEST AND TOOK IT BEYOND MY BOUNDRIES - I am honestly amazed how someone can get the right genes and show how far they can go - she is definately my pride and joy - but the other 2 are everybit as good.

Steady,

No wonder you sound so proud! Congratulations to the proud parents and to Sarah, as this may be the first of many great accomplishments in her career.

Cheers / Salud!

Thanks everyone, it was a wonderful weekend.

On to the TSP Stuff - The Upward Trend appears to be holding and the news reports I've been hearing is The FED will lower the Rate to help push a sluggish economy.

My plan was to go back in Stocks today - a combination of C/S/I and wait it out for awhile. The rising oil should not be enough to deter the subsequent jump in the Markets a Rate Cut will spur. A lot of money is still looking for a good entry point - "a confirmed stablization" - that the BULL is real.

Another good jump in the Markets - may bring the REAL MONEY in and I want to be fully invested for this event. So will probably go in tomorrow.

Still hoping for a 20% Reduction

1)Bush acknowledges the strain our economy is having on the overall US population and now is calling on CONGRESS TO DO SOMETHING.
He knows the FED can only do much - so now it's Congress

2) Weak Consumer Data
Yee haaaw

3)US Forclosures spike 112%

4) Consumer Confidence Index at 5 year low

Bottom Line: I'm staying 100% G in anticapation that a further rate cut by the FED will now be seen as SELL THE NEWS - evidence we are in a desperate situation.

Am still longing to see the Markets plunge for ONE LAST GOOD BUYING OPPORTUNITY - OR THE BEST OPPORTUNITY.

That's what I'm looking at Steady. Hard to predict how the Market will react, either way can go up or down. This is a toughie, sitting in the "G", that's for meeeeeeeeeeee, can't you seeeeeeeee!:worried:

But he doesn't want to spend any money to do it, we borrowed for the stimulus package.

I honestly do not have time to go over everything but when you say we borrowed for the stimulus package you need to realize that we are in debt by TRILLIONS of DOLLARS and so in that sense every expense is only through more borrowing.

In other words if you are already Trillions of dollars in debt:

1. You can not afford a 2 Trillion Dollar war (current Iraq)
2. You can not afford a US Embassy in Iraq - costing 300 million+
3. Hundreds of Billions to Bail Outs
4. Numerous Rate Cuts
5. You can't afford a Stimulous Package (160 Billion) designed to spur unending debt - thinking the US population will be too dumb to stop spending
6. You can't afford to refuse to raise Taxes
7. You can't afford to be known as the biggest spending administration in history
8. You can't afford to have such sloppy records that the auditors swear there is no way possible to account for the money
9. You can't afford to enact a law "Prohibiting the President's Actions from being disclosed Indefinately" - only to have a Judge Rule against that.

AND THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICE BERG

So Silverbird - He wants to spend all the money he can and honestly as long as it looks good (during his term) that is the bottom line for him and most politicians. HE DOES NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO SPEND SO ALL HE CAN DO IS BORROW MORE FROM SOMEONE ELSE. I absolutely guarantee you if Bush (the US Government) had to deal with money on the same lines as Corporations, Companies, and all Industries (and the way we have to in our personal accounts) then he would have been outest a long time ago. In fact a lot of these guys would be in prison.
