Steadygain's Account Talk

.50% Cut - was expected by me due to the high publicity of a "weak economy" by Congress along with all the Big boys driving the Machine.

It does nothing to calm my nerves. I see maybe a little bounce "similar to the .75% Cut" but a SELL THE NEWS reaction will likely follow.

The FED can't cut much more - as the dollar becomes increasingly worthless. IMO - these "magical band-aids" do little more than bring a brief "smiley face" to brighten our day - and then we're left with the underlying gloom.

Sorry about my NEGATIVE TONE - Honestly I don't mean to be such a Bitch. Anyway, everyone be cool and Good Luck.

What amazes me most on CNN Money is immediately after the .50% Cut the banners are flying "Markets Get Big Boost" "Stocks Going Way UP" and a few minutes later they're all running to make new banners - saying just the opposite.

Sometimes the "Talking Heads" are so FOS.

Birch - at least you are ONE SOLID GUY with some consistency. I just can't do that in this climate.

So, you have a prescription pad, which makes you a psychiatrist. I hope you're with the VA. Vietnam vets need good people to help them.

That was indeed a lovely day, but you forgot snorkeling. I always suspected that laughing underwater wouldn't be a good idea, and now we know for sure.

Today is my last day at work. YES, YES, YES. To tell the truth, it's been like working/living in a situation comedy, and I know I'll miss it, but time to go. Everyone asks me what I'm going to do. Do I have to do something? I know that I'm taking my granddaughter to Disney, and Kaitlin and I are going to be zombies in a horror movie a friend is directing ... and, I haven't planned beyond that. Works for me.

Thank you for a lovely day at the beach. You know, I have a greenhouse which I use to store the lawn mower and pool stuff. Consider the possibilities....

Thank you. I loved our day at the beach.

Gail

Vietnam vets need good people to help them.

That's an understatement - especially them; but all Vets deserve the best we have to offer.

That was indeed a lovely day, but you forgot snorkeling.

Didn't want to bore the folks with lesser things - figured I'd just stick with the highlights and let their minds drift.

Today is my last day at work. YES, YES, YES.

Gail, I'm thrilled for you. HAPPY RETIREMENT
(talk about perfect timing)

You know, I have a greenhouse which I use to store the lawn mower and pool stuff. Consider the possibilities....

It's funny because as soon as I saw "greenhouse".....

Thank you. I loved our day at the beach.

Gail

I loved it too!!...............THANK YOU!!

Go out and celebrate - and may the remaining years be filled with good heath and happiness.

Mamikin - You Are WONDERFUL
Cynthia, my dear sweet friend, I just finished your touching story and marvel how much your father resembles mine - and the deep respect and admiration you have for him.

Please know that **** obviously never really understood who and what you are - and if he did things would have turned out different. That is often the case, however, as the woman does more and more they are often taken for granted.

I think you're one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met and I am really honored to be your friend (and I know Cornellia feels the same). You are a true treasure - so sincere, loving, and throughtful.

Your story has a lot of pain...a lot of disappointments...and a lot of garbage. Interestingly what you find littering the streets and some of the treasures inside the garbage cans - are nothing compared to the garbage others put inside us when they make us feel less valuable, undesirable, or unwanted. Don't ever let yourself believe that GARBAGE - because that garbage is the worst garbage of all - it is nothing but a huge lie; meant to destroy you. You are are an incredibly wonderful lady - very beautiful - and in many ways are such a wonderful example for all of us.

Have a wonderful day!! I love you, and I really mean that.

Thank you, my dear friend Steadygain, for the reminder posted above, to not let anyone fill your head with garbage ... the worst kind possible.

Yes, I loved my father dearly and still miss him - we lost him him in 1995 to pancreatic cancer. I still think about things he said and did and am amazed as I continue through life at just how wise he was. Just last night, while listening to McCain and Romney argue about the war with Iraq, I suddenly remembered my father (a World War 11 veteran) telling me after the Gulf War that Bush Sr. had made a serious mistake in not finishing the job at the time. When my dad told me this, I kind of shrugged it off and didn't pay it much attention, as I tend to be somewhat of a pacifist. So I forgot his comment until last night and then I finally understood its relevance.

I had also forgotten I wrote that story until you posted about your dad fixing things around the house. I consider both you and Cornelia to be dear friends, too, and am grateful to have met you both through this message board.

I also want to take a minute to wish Gail the very best in retirement. I haven't really gotten to know you, Gail, but stick around in retirement, okay? Remember that you still have friends here!

350zCommTech - you're next

A few weeks prior my friends suggested the movie "Yellow" to get some good ideas for designing your room. Afterwards we flew to Rio De Janeiro to find some world class models. Please know I have millions to spare and very much enjoy the fact I have no limits when it comes to doing something special for my friends.

Our Yacht is enormous, with lots of room for our MB friends and each of you will have servants assigned to make sure your voyage is the best one possible. Cornellia hates the term "servants" - and insists they are "personal assistants". Well anyway I personally selected yours - and you have six altogether. Each assistant has been thoroughly trained to dance for your endless entertainment and pleasure - and hundreds of different outfits are available. You will be in the lower level - mid section - without windows. You have one of the largest rooms (and Wind Hunter has the other). We made sure your room had a large dance platform - with a wide variety of environments you could change at will. Please know that each assistant is highly motivated to tend to your every need and during this voyage they will make sure your chair is pulled, your door is opened, your sheets are clean and everything is spotless. They will rub lotion in your skin if you're on the deck, have your towel ready when you get out of the pool, and make sure all the food and drinks are to your utmost satisfaction. They know the maximum extent of relaxing any and all muscles - anytime you desire a massage. And any activity that sparks your interest: from shooting clay pigeons or shooting pool, darts, dances, movies...or whatever - at least one of them will share your experience and make sure you're having fun. But forget about them, as I mainly wanted to let you know about your room - which is designed to the highest degree for acoustics and lighting. Speakers are built into your walls, floor and ceiling to give the most realistic sound possible for any movie you may want to watch. These are also in place for any song you desire and we have specifically selected thousands of songs with a great stong beat - and have no doubt you will be thrilled with our selection. Lighting and Sound create the mood and this is why your room should provide you (and your assisants) the highest pleasure and satisfaction. All assistants know the language and culture of every destination and will be your guide at the various stops of our world wide cruise.

You are in a Restricted Location - if you're bringing children we will assign the room to someone else.

ROCK ON MY FRIEND - AND WELCOME ABOARD

Saw the movie on DVD. It was a tad slow but the girl was pretty. :D

May I suggest a pole or 2, and of course, mirrors on all the walls.:)

Thank you!

The girl was beautiful, which forced me to go to Brazil and find 6 even better. Consider only the dancing and the outfits, and forget the rest. The poles and mirrows - and so much more were there way before you had a chance to even think about it. Was afraid it might spoil the surprise if I told you everything. BTW, the room is completely sound proof - so it's cool - make all the noise ya want.

Your Welcome :p

I think the FED will lower by .50% this go around - which may spark a brief rally (as it did before) but the overall dynamics will continue to put the majority in a fearful state combined with an ever increasing weaker dollar. Thus any rally will be short lived and we will finally be able to dive to a real bottom and not a FALSE CORRECTION.

BIRCH, DON'T READ THIS
IT MAY GET YOUR B/P TO ELEVATED

This quote of 1/15/08 pretty well sums up my assessment of our economy. The value of the DOLLAR dropped 8% in 2007 and with the RATE CUTS in combination with BILLIONS AND BILLIONS being poured out in a frantic effort to halt A RECESSION - the DOLLAR has all the more dropped in 2008. This hand writting on the wall is just to BIG TO IGNORE.

1) DOLLAR SINKING TO NOTHING - can not be a good signal
2) HUGE RATE CUTS - means BEN is a puppet to those in POWER
3) TRYING TO STIMULATE THE ECONOMY - by throwing out BILLIONS in an effort to spur an endless spending spree is RIDICULOUS
4) HOUSING - AND OVERALL DEBT CRISIS getting worse

darn - was going to list a few more but need to run

Anyway this is one time we need to consider the obvious dominating factors that control the economy and forget this "bull/bear" mentality that shifts from one day to the next.

The European Central Bank will lower their rates and the dollar will find further stability. The $150 billion stimulus package could add 500,000 jobs to the economy. According to the internals, we have more than likely finished a deep correction within a larger bull market. I wouldn't wait on a retest - the bull could easily get away from you. Snort.

Thanks Birch - that's good enough for me - will put all in high risk.

You are probably the only one that could talk me into such a move.

OK Folks - 35% C; 35% S; 30% I by COB today

WIND HUNTER - you're next

You're on the other side of the hall from 350zCommTech, with an identical sound system in a sound proof room. Your room does not have the dance walkway with a wide variety of interchangable booths/rooms - but is geared mainly for music and jamming. Steve Vai is a long standing friend and is honestly a wonderful person to know, and despite his incredible skill when you play with him he doesn't try to outdo you. He'll have a room near you and was able to work out a deal with his management to stay with us throughout the cruise. Ian Moore was harder to get a hold of but once my friends got in touch with his management they agreed to let him come as well. I spoke with him on the phone and when he heard about our destinations - the yacht - the free trip for him and his personal assistants he was very excited. A wall in your room has many guitars to pick from: Schecter 24 fret, Les Paul; Strats and a wide variety of others. You also have a stage area to jam with Ian, Steve, Fog Sailing, Nnutt, me and others (and of course your son). We've included a wide variety of amps, foot switches, and gagits to let you really be creative. You have the largest variety of songs on board and therefore we have links from your system to my cabin and a few other places. You also have an incredible entertainment center on the other end - Cinema Quality that beats the standard Theater. All this and so much more awaits your arrival; along with personal assistants fully dedicated to making you (and yours) feel like royality.

Please forgive my awkwardness in asking you the following and I sincerely want you to feel under no obligation. As part of my inner circle I would like you to function as the Moderators function (on this site) during our voyage. I need a few to help me make sure the overall voyage is the maximum experience for everyone on board and to help with any complications.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS
WORLD WIDE CRUISE
THE ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE FOR EVERYONE

Steadygain,

Re your question on IFTs limitations, I received my letter several days ago and I quote:

....Because in October, November and December 2007, you made more than three IFTS each month, you fall within this frequent trading group. Therefore, unless you reduce your IFTs to no more than three per month (starting in February), we may notify you that you will be required to request your IFTs by mail until the permanent restrictions have been implemented.

Please note that it says we may, it is not saying that I am restricted to do anything immediately. The unless you reduce is obviously a warning.

V/R,

Cornellia:cool:

Wow!!! Thank You Precious. As you can see I'm letting everyone know about the room arrangements well in advance. I'll include a personalized Brochure of each room, the features of our yatch, and our destinations with every invitation.

Dennis, thank you as well - you are next on the list and you have one of the best suites available - but will fill you in later on.

Listen GRUMPY BEARS - I certainly understand the frustration of unlimited trades - down to 3/month - but all this time I was convinced it was 2/month so having 12 extra free trades IS WONDERFUL FOR ME.

Please don't consider the 3rd trade as an extra. The 3rd trade is only like an emergency safety valve. It is only applicable to the G fund. I consider it a "half trade" to be used only if you are in stocks and you must bail out because of a meltdown...but hey at least it's there! Here's hoping it is short lived.

I'm usually the last to join in on "the Band Wagon" because I'm so use to confronting a bunch of BS in real life - that typically presents itself that way.

But I know my Thread gets a lot of views and this is ONE TIME I'M WILLING TO TAKE A STAND. On the Main Forums Page - at the Bottom "Misc. Section" is a THREAD "TSP WARNING LETTERS"

At first glance it can appear as BS - but it has some excellent information that could save "US - the 3000" if we act fast. This appears a lot more valid than the internet petition/complaint site - as it deals with Official Federal Documents.

Bottom Line: Do it right and you can win - please get involved.

There are now 120 in front of me on the Auto Tracker  and that's a little embarrassing. It is a game I'm still learning but one I am more and move convinced is better off played with longer range goals; as the drive for quick gains and avoiding losses causes you to shift so often - you rarely come out ahead. At least by my example I'm in G when I should be in C/S/I (or vise versa) - and too often I run to G to keep my gains and subsequently miss another 2 or 3%.

I think in large part - I, and many others, are expecting the Great Recession and this causes us to make erratic decisions. Here I would have to give credit to Birchtree - and recognize that his style is far superior to mine.

So the bottomline for me at this point is stick with something and let it ride. 35% C/35% S/ 30% I - is fully invested in High Risk and when the Markets rise I will reap the benefits. At this point I will try not to read too much into Media Reports and put the guru part aside.

Bringing the Voyage to an End

Once again I went to bed exhausted and woke at 1 in the morning wide awake with my thoughts racing on different things. So let me bring all this to an end. In my mind I have millions and millions to spare and decided to bring the whole TSP Site on a World Wide Voyage. I bought a Cruise Ship - a big one that was one of the best ever made.

DennisFAA - you would be the chief Moderator, the first in command right after me. I sense a loyality in you that I could count on and I think you have a way with people that would make the cruise the best for all. You also strike me as one who would stand your ground and do the right thing to make sure everything goes smoothly. So when Kar Crazy has one to many drinks, I would expect you (Wind Hunter) and my other Moderators to handle it wisely and not beat around the bush. Since you are the Chief Moderator you have the best place (next to my cabin) - and the cabin on the other end. Your suite is the most elaborately decorated - lots of inlaid gold throughout the walls and trim. You pretty much leave your blinds open because you want everyone to look in - you enjoy their expressions. You have the best of everything - bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining room and so forth. Your suite, along with Mamikin's, Tom's, and Griffin's form a square with your own private pool in the center. You will have a switch that bars the others access to the pool so that you (and yours) have it yourselves anytime you want it up to an hour. The others could make similar arrangements with each other - but you decide with the flip of a switch.

On the other end of the ship is another cabin similar to mine. GGal and her party would stay there. This would be like a Presidential Suite x 100 with every luxury imaginable. You have your own private spa and your views are second to only the Master Cabin. I know you may not have many years left to enjoy your sight so this will flood your memories forever and ever with the most beautiful views inside and out. You would always be first on the tours of our various destinations throughout the world. You and Mamikin would help Cornellia to have the best time of her life and you would collectively come up with ideas for the whole crowd to enjoy.

Paladin - you would also be a Moderator - on the next level. I feel like you are warm and sensitive, with good understanding and would work very well with the crowd. You (and yours) would have the most plush suite on that level, but all the suites on the first level are exceptionally nice. In the center is a larger room that would serve as the "Spiritual Retreat" - mainly under Sky Pilot who would conduct regular meetings for Marriage Enrichment, In depth Bible Studies, Vesper Services, Prayer Gatherings and so forth. This would take priority in terms of advertisement.

On the other side of the 'Spiritual Retreat' room is another large room where we would hold regular meetings. Fog Horn, I would have you help with the arrangements of various lectures and meetings. James (the TSP Moderator) would give us a history of the TSP Board, how it's arranged and what is happening. Cowboy would tell us about the money that's moving - give us an idea of how big the TSP really is. Birchtree would give his presentations so we could better understand the importance of long term investments and help the ones (like me) who have weaker stomachs. Griffin would give his presentations on the economy; as would Ebb, Dr. F, Trader Fred, Uptrend, and others. We have a lot of very knowledgeable individuals - and the number grows daily - so Fog Horn would help to filter the diamonds out for the rest of us to enjoy. We would also have open discussions and visit with one another throughout the ship. I would try to get Tom and the Moderators to each give a little talk (ONE TIME PRESENTATION - FOR EVERYONE) so everyone could know who they are and a little about them. But this cruise is largely for them to relax and enjoy and therefore I would limit their activities.

The suites on this level would be for the TSP Moderators, the Speakers listed; Fog Horn and others.

Next level down is still very nice - Fog Sailing you are the Moderator for this level. There are probably a hundred who read my thread and enjoy it (hopefully) but never say a word. So my appologies to all of you - but Christopher and the many others who did post a word of kindness will occupy these rooms.

Next level down is 12% as the Moderator. Please don't think of this as a "so so level" - nothing could be further from the truth. This level has a lot of the rooms specifically designed for dances and celebrations. This is largely "the FUN PLACE" and that's why 12% is there - because he knows how to keep things moving, fun, and stimulating.

Our Pilot would have the best room on the next level down and the Helicopter would be ready 24/7 for any unexpected event. The chefs and other top staff would also be on this level and then the rooms would go to various TSP Site members.

So that's pretty much been the plan throughout. The more I get to know you, the more I come up with a collective plan where we can all enjoy each other. I also think of hundreds of places scattered throughout the world where our ship would stop and we could spend up to a week on various tours to really take the world in. I usually project this event to take place in 8 to 10 years; to really have every destination planned with timing and tours. But I have no idea who will be around at that time and what the health of current members would be like. So I decided to wrap it all up and let you know what I had in mind while everyone is as they are.
ok - now for a little more sleep

Thanks Steadygain for the voyage invitation. I can't wait. And thanks for inviting my friend Ian Moore. Being a native Texan, I have had the opportunity to hangout with Ian on several occasions and let me tell you, he is the coolest. And if we are lucky, he will perform his version of No Woman No Cry. Unbelieveable....:D
