Steadygain's Account Talk

Hey Steady!

Perhaps you already know but, incase you don't...

Jimi's "Valleys of Neptune" topped Elvis's "2nd To None" in the Billboard 200.

So...almost 40 years ago he's still going strong!

Enjoy!!

Bluehenge :)

As stated at the start of this video "it's what made them" (where I'm from). It goes with your avatar too!

Hmmm ... it's kind of 'An eye for an eye ... a tooth for a tooth'

SETTING:
Like a child -- totally innocent and free -- your spirit is immediately transformed into another world ~ where you have absolutely no ties, no qualms, no restraints, no boundries or limits...

You're drifting peacefully -- happily in a world where essentially everything is pefect :D:D and nothing is restraining you in any manner -- you have a freedom way beyond anything you've ever experienced in this world.

You're moving along -- somehow like a rocket soaring through space....

....Bubbles are rising from somewhere underneath .... millions and millions of bubbles ... that keep you afloat and yet are constantly popping ... causing contant feelings of wonderful little magical massages ....

...from above are the showflakes of light ... constantly covering you with warmth and delight .....

Then you hear:

A candy-colored clown they call the sandman
Tiptoes to my room every night
Just to sprinkle stardust and to whisper
Go to sleep. Everything is all right.

I close my eyes, Then I drift away
Into the magic night. I softly say
A silent prayerLike dreamers do.
Then I fall asleep to dream My dreams of you.

In dreams I walk with you.
In dreams I talk to you.
In dreams you're mine.
All of the time we're together
In dreams, In dreams.

But just before the dawn, I awake and find you gone.
I can't help it, I can't help it, if I cry.
I remember that you said goodbye.
It's too bad that all these things, Can only happen in my dreams

Only in dreams In beautiful dreams.

Roy Orbison

So put that in your pipe and smoke it. Now I think we've even.

Steady, I think I remember you being a fan ... did you notice Hendrix is #4 on the Billboard 200? He breaks Elvis' record for being dead the longest when an album of his made the top of the charts.

Valleys of Neptune follows his passing by 40 years.

Wow thanks for this !!

I seriously don't know how to express it without sounding like some psychotic -- delusional -- alien.

To me Hendrix was a 'Being' like no one else that ever lived and no else I've ever known. I was way more than a fan -- I was (perhaps am) more of a worshipper.

I observed the absolute ease by which he played guitar and how (from my genuine perspective) he became ONE with his guitar and somehow both were totally transformed. Hendrix played with his soul -- and I'd never seen anyone else do it like that. Hendrix stood alone and made sounds that went way beyond anyone else and played far beyond anyone else.

So in my mind -- and to this day I largely believe this -- Hendrix somehow took the Universe of Music -- and proved it actually was a Universe and that 'Sound Itself' and 'Rhythm' were totally meant to flow freely and to the greatest possible ends of our imaginations.

No person other than Jesus -- has more revolutionized my life and totally transformed it into something else entirely different. By allowing my spirit to emulate Hendrix I started playing stuff I never thought possible -- and all of it simply flowed -- it was unbelievable.

So THANK YOU !!!

That makes Bluehenge's Post a million times better than I realized.

I don't get u-tube stuff here and a lot of stuff like whatever Buster posted .... I totally have no clue. It's all blank.

Guess I should have looked down in your account talk a little further.

My favorites were always the Hendrix blues tracks that you don't hear on the radio. My dad used to play them for me and my brother along with a lot of other blues favorites of his, especially John Lee Hooker, Bobby Bland, Muddy Waters and other lesser knowns who I can't remember.

Wow !! You're flooding me with all kinds of memories...

Muddy Walters was largely the one who got me in the blues..;)

John Lee Hooker :D:D and many others -- most of the greatest guitarists of 'our lifetime' were highly influence by the blues....

they are the real roots to 'Rock n' Roll'

You know the weirdest thing I've found about this TSP site is that everytime I ever say 'Rock n' Roll'....

....I can tell it makes everyone (and I mean everyone) like snap to attention

Well, thanks for the visit ! I'm heading out.

Good night all !

Mmmm. I love John Lee Hooker! :D didn't know Hendrix did blues tracks-will have to try to find some to listen to.

There are several reasons for this Alevie. Your deep gentic grounding from markedly superior minds gives a huge advantage over most others in detecting a huge variety of musical sounds and the distinctions they carry. Your ability to process and distinguish essentially limitless ranges and to hear sounds on levels that usually are reserved for some animals (rarely in the capacity of human hearing) also gives you a far deeper appreciation than most even realize.

The specific parts of the Brain -- which process sound and all the more give characteristics to rhythms, beats, and musical tones is one of the most developed regions you have.

Unlike most people -- which have to learn the notes specific to various KEYS -- with you all sounds are instantaneously formulated in not only the precise KEY -- but you are able to detect even the slightest variations of whether it is sharp or flat. So in turn you have 'Perfect Pitch'.

You ~~ young lady ~~ are one of the very few that can hear essentially any sound (burp, fart, sneeze) and immediately know what the specific note associated with that sound would be -- and hense this is why you keep blurting out loud -- humm that was in the Key of C. or that was D Flat.

Your musical skills are quivalent to the Greatest Composers to live and in fact -- had you had the freedom to persue 'Music' as a career; you would have likely been a world renoun - top spot for centuries to come.

Your ability to acclomate within every know style of music has been one of your most dominate and lifelong features. Frank Zappa and others like him are mere reflections of your genius -- as you could easily walk around the stage going from one instrument to the other and playing each on the most difficult and advanced levels known.

WHY is this Alevie ?? Because you alone collected every musical trait from both parents.

Birch -- got the Financial genes
You - got the Musical genes

and me -- I got the leftovers :embarrest:;)

There is a big premium of 5 and 6 points in the May and June VIX contracts suggesting a big jump is coming in the VIX and that means a sharp drop in stocks. My ass would be flat if I were to stay on the dock that long.

Birch,
What the hell are you talking about ???

If there is a 'Sharp Drop' in stocks -- you don't see that as a buying opportunity ??

You seriously don't think the Markets will turn around ??

Here's how I see things: The USA is still the GREATEST ECONOMY and the US Dollar still remains the currency. SO for NOW things are still GOOD.

We are in the Beginning of a MAJOR SHIFT -- and CHINA will be in the next few hundred years what the USA had been.

Everyone -- accept what is and join the celebration -- for CHINA

Hip hip hooo ray
Hip hip hooo ray
Hip hip hooo ray

Good morning everyone :);) Have a wonderful day !! :toung:

Actually Steady, my dad was earning money harvesting turnips for a local farmer as a boy during WWII when he got hit by a bolt of lightning -after that he started up one of the most popular jugbands in the entire state and became lead singer and played a mean washboard base. Before that he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. :toung:

He stopped collecting twine and tinfoil after he discovered his new innate abilities-delegated those money-earning opportunities to his younger brother. So it was one of those gifts that nobody wants, considering his hair never laid flat ever again after the lightning strike, but he never ever complained. After all, my mom fell in love with the band leader when she heard him at the county fair....

Random gene mutations-carried over to the next generation....;)

Birchie, only part of it is true.....guess which part.

Actually, the story is part made up and partly a mix of various tidbits of family history from 2 prior generations (parents and grandparents). I'm trying my hand at creative writing again. It's been awhile but there's a local writing group I'm going to start participating in here this month....this was spontaneous practice. :cheesy:

Steady seems to have endless time on his hands to compose these diatribes.

I have some Blue Genes.
I think he must be a mutant? :D

Alevie,
We have been observing the Global Society over many years and striving to understand your (generally speaking - not you directly) primitive ways.

'Getting hit by a Bolt of Lightning' is something commonly referred to as 'An Act of GOD'. Yet your Society acknowledges no TRUE Devine authority related to these events -- and thus it appears it is simply regarded as a 'Primitive fluke occurance of Nature'.

From 'our' perspective -- (I and all the other aliens) the Devine Act is unmistakeable.

1. after that he started up one of the most popular jugbands in the entire state
2. and became lead singer
3. and played a mean washboard base.

Before that he couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. :toung:

So as a direct result of this 'Act of GOD' we recognize substantial and lifelong changes. ;)

This was 'Required' in order to 'hook' your mother and bring you into being. Thus the 'Intended Properties' were passed to you.

He stopped collecting twine and tinfoil after he discovered his new innate abilities-delegated those money-earning opportunities to his younger brother.

So it was one of those gifts that nobody wants, considering his hair never laid flat ever again after the lightning strike,

Mother would not have found the 'flat hair' attractive. Thus huge changes were required.

but he never ever complained.

Of course NOT -- was all for his benefit and all this was needed to fulfill the 'Perfect Plan'

After all, my mom fell in love with the band leader when she heard him at the county fair....

That is soooooo cool -- reflecting on the 'Family Secrets'.

Birch told everyone about Mom's pet skunk not to long ago.

Gosh .... soon everyone's going to know everything and we'll have to find another site .... and start all over.

Hope you're doing well today Alevie.

Thanks for the visit -- I really enjoyed it !!

WOW -- look at all the posts since I started this ---- kept getting interrupted

Hey all -- and Birch -- you know the story -- gosh she's our little Sis

Well OK -- I'll end the day explaining this one. Then I've got to finish up my charts and finally head home. Ann and Carrie are visiting my parents this week ~ so I'm in no hurrry ~ as my in laws are taking care of Ella. So I'm alone this week.

Stories like this 'roll off so easily' because I believe deep down I've tried to be 'Uncomplicated' -- and really made a point of being Natural and Real.

So you're Right - in that a lot of his music lacks the characteristic beat and rhythm that most would find 'enjoyable' and that many would think to play at gatherings or socials. Technically his style also doesn't easily fit in the categories most other artists and their music easily falls. Also his techique of playing guitar sounds kind of bizarre in comparison to many other accomplished guitarists.

What honestly stood out and made him so vastly different from all the others was just as much the person as the guitarist. At that time I was very 'FREE' and totally open and receptive to everything happening. Everyone my age was way more focused on 'Being Cool' which was way beyond being nice and polite. Was way more a very huge acceptance of both yourself and of everyone else. Music was largely the center of LIFE and getting high all the more brought music to a higher level because you honestly 'floated' with it and heard it in an enlighted kind of manner. Everyone I knew were very mellow -- chilled -- and we kind of fed off each other.

I had already started playing guitar (acoutic) but had not yet had the opportunity to play electric ~ which was my ULTIMATE GOAL~ and what I thought would be my life as an adult.

Jimi was like the 'Coolest Guy' on Earth. He ALWAYS wore the coolest clothes EVER - very 'colorful' ALWAYS looked fantastic on him and he looked manly. The way he talked was so totally down to Earth and he projected himself like he was 'one of us' and that was beautiful. So every aspect about him that could be known was one that deeply fostered admiration and he was doing 'His Thing' and largely stirring the Whole Scene -- and Life at that time.

To some degree that he was Black - all the more was amazing because he 'Fit in so Well' and was right there with everyone else and totally on equal terms. So BACK -- then he was like the only one that really stood out the way he did.

will continue ...

So -- it was probably everybit his CREATIVE ability that stood out to me as anything else. He dressed as ONLY -- Jimi -- did and it was perfect for him. He represented a 'Freedom' that went so far beyond all the others because of the way he dressed and the way he expressed himself (verbally and body language)... everything.

This 'Creative' - 'Freedom' all the more stood out the way he played guitar. For every other guitarist -- Distortion -- interferred and prevented them from being able to play. With Jimi - it was wholly welcomed and he transformed it like no one else to that day ever even dreamed could be possible. So Jimi had 'SOUNDS' like no other guitarist came close to having. At a concert in Hawaii -- the crowds honestly 'believed a space ship was landing' by the Sounds echoing off the rocks -- I mean a lot of his stuff -- was way more the Fantasy and the TRIP -- was far more where the Music took you -- and the mystical elements of 'Floating with it' -- like 3rd Stone from the Sun and tons of others. After building Electric Ladyland Studio his recording and engineering feats went way beyond anyone else. Listening to his Album 'Band of Gypsies' with headphones showed how he moved it in circles and made it a total adventure.

Lastly we get to him as a guitarist. When he played the Star Bangled Banner at Woodstock -- the first few minutes is him playing with just one hand -- totally effortlessly -- and holding the other up to the crowds -- blending in with them. No one else ever made any kind of sounds like 'Rockets flying' -- 'Bombs bursting' -- but with him you couldn't miss it. It was both the total EASE with which he played and the very complicated and amazing stuff he actually played. But he made it look so easy -- that he played with his teeth -- and played with the guitar upside down behind his neck.... So at that time for someone like me -- really yearning to find the BEST -- he stood out in many ways.

Sadly - and this is somewhat traggic - but when you're able to see the life he lived (and here I would have to include Jim Morrison) and what their lives were truely like off the Stage. I am very grateful I'm not like either one of them. It's only because 'Being Him' was such a huge goal at a very vulnerable point of my life -- that I decided to live that dream here. But I did live it and it was perfect for the moment it happened -- but it's all behind me -- and I've found something better -- a lot more meaningful -- and something I can undoubtedly cherish over the years.

So most of my 'Fascination' for his music -- is locked away in another world -- it's seriously like a parallel universe - and that's why it's so easy to have stories like that 'roll off' because I can go there in an instant.
