Squalebear's Account Talk

Working since I was 13 made me want to retire before working for the
Federal Government some 18 - 3/4 years ago. Can you imagine how
motivated I am now, its all a matter of affordability. Can I afford to go
OR can I afford to stay? ;) If I can't afford to stay, thats when it gets
down right ugly !

Squale,

I can sure understand your wanting to retire. I wish ya luck for tomorrow. :D

In all seriousness, I cancelled my IFT and wanted someone to tell me that
I was finally right about something this month. Today is already locked in
stone. So tomorrow could bring a DCB or a Fed Rate Cut. If I bail now I've
sold the farm and locked in a loss. So I'm holding onto hope and a noose.
Lets hope I can save the noose for roping in some gains. Thanks for the
opinions, I feel a little better about my decision. Emotional Judgements
tend to be wrong, but this sure is one uuuuugly day to get ballsy.

As usual the Fed will cut rates a day late and a dollar short. This market is a disgrace. There is no TRUST and when that happens no one will buy anything. So much for that Bail Out !!! There was never a rally and what we saw were the Hedge Funds seeing that spike even a 300 point spike and they sold out for a loss.

Buy the rumor, sell the news. A day late and a dollar short (pun intended).
Disgrace; Stock Markets, Banks, Financial Agencies, Politicians etc........
Its sad to see such coruption. Hey, lets look at the bright side ! I'll always
have job security working in a Prison. Any of those jokers show up in my
house, they will give Protective Custody a brand new meaning and Bubba
is simply thrilled of the prospect. :toung:

A Final Observation before lunch;

The AGG is down -1.34% right now. It was up +.74% the last I looked.
Is this money coming out of Bonds for a day ending turn around ?

No Value in Bonds Money going to Oil, Gold, Silver or flat out Cash no turn around this will be a 800 point drop day IMO

Squalebear -- How do you cancel your IFT online. I finally decided on an IFT the other day and then decided I want to cancel it. I couldn't figure out online so I had to call thrift line.

By the way, did you decide to take the risk and go in or are you playing it safe in G?

Juliebeb, After comiting to a IFT online (before noon) you have until noon
to change your mind. If you miss the noon deadline, you can't change it.

If you decide to cancel your IFT online, do this;
*Logon to all services (not just account balance)
* On the menu, Click Interfund Transfer (as if you are making another)
* The page will say you already have a "Pending IFT".
* I'm required to write in my email address twice (I copy & Paste)
*Take note of the two buttons below.
------->one is to EDIT your current IFT request.
------->one is to CANCEL your current IFT.

CLICK THE CANCEL BUTTON AND YOUR DONE.

I was "IN" today; 40%(G) 20%(C) 30%(S) 10%(I)
I made a IFT Request, then, Cancelled it before noon.
So I'm still IN for tomorrow with 60% at risk.

HOPE THIS HELPS ! ;)

hm.. Dow's below 10k and now S&P is going below 1k..

Late rally started at 2:50pm. I haven't read why yet. Maybe that Bond
money was used to buy some very cheap stocks. Before lunch, everything
was down between -6.50% and -7.50% and I was seeing Hell's fire.
With US Futures currently stable at unchanged, I'm feeling better about
tomorrow's prospect. But today still hurts and we have tons of time
between now and 9:30am EST.

Thanks for the answer to the IFT cancellation question. One more thing. Does anyone know how to graph and track your thrift account. Is there a website that I can go to where I can put in my starting amount in each fund and it can track and graph the fund and my total in realtime? The only thing that I know how to do is check my balance each day and that does not give me a very complete picture.

Save this under your favorites;
http://finance.yahoo.com/q/cq?d=v1&s=^GSPC,+^DWCPF,+EFA,+AGG,+^DJI,
It gives you the Dow,(C),(S),(F) and (I).

After a certain amount of posts (10 I think), you can register in the
AutoTracker on this websites homepage. Send a PM to EW_ret and let
him know of your interest. You can track your IFT's, see other member
moves and compete for monthly prizes.

If your looking to see what kind of dollar changes (estimates) your
experiencing during regular business hours (trading hours) that gets
more complicated. You can make up a portfolio in one of the many
money websites and convert the TSP prices into Index prices and
then convert the amount of TSP shares into index shares and boom,
you get to see your money fall or rise with a usual 20 minute delay.

IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE CONTROL THAT THE FUND MANAGERS HAVE, WITH CONCERNS TO THE OVERPAYMENT, HAS BEEN AMAZING FOR THE LAST TWO WEEKS.
EXCEPT ON THE PRIOR 2 MONDAYS, THE FOLLOWING DAYS HAVE BEEN VERY CONSISTANT. THIS SIMPLY CONFIRMS FOR ME THAT THE PREVIOUS LARGE SWINGS IN
THE O/D TRACKER ARE WELL THOUGHT OUT AND PLANNED TO MEET WITH BARCLAYS CASH NEEDS AT THE TIME. AT ANY RATE, THE LACK OF A LARGE OVERPAYMENT
TODAY LEFT THE (I) FUND ALMOST IN THE BLACK AREA OF THE O/D TRACKER. I'M GLAD TO SEE THIS FUND SETTLE DOWN, BUT FOR HOW LONG? WILL YET ANOTHER
LOSS IN THE EFA RESULT IN A RED AREA OVERPAYMENT? I THINK SO, IF I HAD TO GUESS. IF A RALLY OCCURS, I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT THE FUND MANAGERS
WILL PAY BACK SOME DEBT, BUT KEEP THE OVERPAYMENT CLOSE TO WHERE IT IS NOW.

YTD O/D FOR ALL TSP FUNDS

(C) Fund vs. the SPX = 0.1992 TSP Cent Overpayment or +1.64%
(S) Fund vs. DWCPF. = 0.3365 TSP Cent Overpayment or +2.32%
