Squalebear's Account Talk

SB,

WOW!! Shock and surprise. I jumped on my post thinking we where headed for a small rally only to see the numbers going red with less than a half hour to closing. I guess the force was with me a little bit today.
May the force be with us.

Not straight UP, Not straight DOWN. But if the Futures in the green are
any indicator, The (S) should lead the way to a glorious day. May the
Force take you to a higher level of being AND a higher level on the charts.
;)

Europe shares turn flat after US inflation data

Thu Aug 14, 2008 8:40am EDT
LONDON, Aug 14 (Reuters) - European shares pared gains to trade flat on Thursday after U.S. data showed consumer inflation picked up by more than expected in July, cutting the chances interest rates will remain steady through the end of this year.
The U.S. government said its core consumer price index, which strips out food and energy prices, rose 0.3 percent in July, compared with forecasts for a 0.2 percent increase, and compared with June's 0.3 percent rise.
By 1235 GMT the FTSEurofirst 300 index of top European shares was flat at 1,179.40 points, versus 1,189.55 points just before the data. The index earlier rose by as much as 1.1 percent.
Banks became the largest drag on the index after the consumer inflation data. Royal Bank of Scotland dropped 2.8 percent, Barclays lost 3.4 percent and Banco Santander shed 1.5 percent.
Headline consumer inflation rose 0.8 percent, compared with forecasts for a 0.4 percent increase, prompting U.S. Treasuries and stocks DJU8 SPU8 NDU8 to sell off and the dollar .DXY to rise briefly.
(Reporting by Amanda Cooper)
CPI rose even with food and energy prices stripped out, because of high energy prices. DUH. How can prices NOT rise with fuel being so expensive?

Let's see how Barclay's handles that loss....more forking (sticking it to) the I fund? Keep in mind that every 2 weeks BGI gets a guaranteed influx of MILLIONS in payroll contributions into TSP, yet had a bigger loss than the other banks. Great management there, BGI.:worried:

I'm in a buying mood for more BCS so bring it on down to where I can really load up the truck. You simply got to think positive and toward the future when opportunity arrives to participate at these golden prices. I want more BCS.

Hey,,,,, that looks Bulley ! (is that a british term?) :toung:
Not lately I guess. NO SHARE UPDATE YET.
These people can't get anything done on time !
I'll be posting the update soon ! :)

Wow, I'm thinking you jumped in at the right time when looking at the O/D Tracker Debt. But the Dollar and European Economy just isn't were it needs to be.

It was a 20% each in CSI. I know the I fund has been taking some serious hits latley and I wouldn't recommend anyone try to catch the bottom of this thing. My timing this month has been horrible, but it's not over yet... ;)

Since most of you have already taken your awesome gains off the table, at least you have someone like me to keep you entertained for the rest of the month. :toung:

The (I) Fund outperformed the EFA today. The Fund Managers seem
content to keep the debt in the "RED" Zone by adding more debt. The
O/D Tracker is currently in the "High" area and that 3 of the last 4 days
we've seen this area. The good news (if we can call it that) is that the
(I) Fund squeeked out a gain today of 0.06 Tsp Cents. Thats Two Cents
less then the (C). The (S) lead the way with a Fifteen Tsp Cent pop.
I heard an analyst state that this could be a 20% move upward through
the fall. I certainly hope so, for all my friends benefit. As for me, I made
my decision concerning the month of August and can only hope I can
catch a part of it come September. The (I) Fund continues to disappoint
most TSPers with no relief in sight. :)

I WOULD EXPECT NOTHING LESS, JTH ! :embarrest:

A couple of posts back, I mentioned the
need to keep our chins up. Even after
making a bad decision. I'm gonna practice
what I preach ! Your entertainment will
help in the process! Heck, I might even
throw a few jokes in on the side. ;)

(3) days of paying off debt and (2) days of adding to it for the week.
I only wish I was wrong when I told everyone to stay away from the
(I) Fund. In fact, I wish my comfort level and familiarization with the
(C), (S) and (F) was as strong. If I was, you would have seen me in
those funds a little longer this month. Alas, I will rely heavily on those
members who are and reap the benefits of their knowledge. With the
(I) Fund,,,,well,,, nothing has changed concerning its continuous bad
returns and disappointment. My recomendations remain the same for
now. I would stay clear of the (I) until something significant occurs.
I've added a WEEKLY accumulative to the bottom of each week for
those who wish a broader view of the O/D Tracker results. For this
week, the Fund Managers add .05 TSP Cents to the Overpayment or
Debt. The O/D Tracker sit in the "Blue" flip a coin area and more debt
is expected to be paid off next week. We'll just have to wait and see.

To my friends and fellow members, I am trying to juggle to much in real life
right now and I wish to appologize for not responding (or reading) some of
posts in other threads. I'm finding myself doing a Hit&Run outside of my
thread and I wanted to let everyone know that I wasn't ignoring anyone.
I'm sure everyone has been there, from time to time. I guess the bottom
line is, I will continue to publish the O/D Tracker. I'll catch up with other
threads as time allows. For now, you might see less of me during the
week. This website is not only a welcomed addiction, the extrordinary
people within keep you coming back for more. For now, priorities have my
attention on a great many things. Please continue to visit my thread and
post as you always have. I will always have time to respond during my
catch up time. Congratulation to those in the (C) today, as the (S) might
have reached its peek and has been playing tag with the the Large Caps
when it comes to taking the lead in results. I'll try to catch up later !

Good luck with your "Honey to do" list :cheesy:

Sometimes it's good to take a break, suck in some fresh air, and just plain take care of the important things that try to bogg us down.

Thanks goodness for me the markets take a break, otherwise I'd never get anything done on the weekends.

This is just a simple reminder to myself that YTD I could be doing alot
worse. On a MTD basis I still hold onto nearly half of the maximum gain
potential that the TSP had to offer for August. (8/15/08)
