I truly hope you are right. It gives me hope in the essence of the principles, tradition and belief that in America we still believe in the respect for life, liberty and the pursuit of hapiness for the common man. Checks and balances are still the solution to curtail the excesses of human arrogance and absolute power.

I just learned on MSNBC that Academic degrees are being bought/or were bought by high echellon employees of the Federal Government. I give this to you as I saw and heard it on TV. I suppose more investigations should be forthcoming. If that isn't dishonesty and arrogance, I don't know what is...!

There is still an investigation going on including all records and whatever action is taken is not up to us. There are those who thought they could run this retirement fund with no watch dog looking all their actions well they were wrong that is all I will/can say.

I'm about to give up on the TSP trading. They have tied our hands and I will use it for loans only. Pay off the loan, wait 90 days, and take out the max to boost my private accounts. They have managed to total decimate any chance of me building a very large TSP account while ensuring that their private sector friend are well taken care of.

Show Me,

You have captured my thoughts and feelings exactly. My daughter graduates from college next spring and will be moving out on her own, so after the initial expense of her setting up her own place, ya know there's always that odd expense, I'll have additional funds to invest and I doubt very much, that I'll invest in his private sector friends pockets either. The board has killed the TSP advantage of being able to really increase your retirement funds, all in the name of helping his buds out of a jam.

CB,

Here is the way I look at it. I was one of the few TSP participants that was trying very hard to maximize my contributions no matter how bad it hurt my standard of living BECAUSE I was able to actively manage and completely control the performance of my TSP account. After the IFT limitations, what's the sense in maximizing TSP contributions at all. I truly believe that with the exception of the matching funds I can do better in a private account, after fully funding both Roth's, and paying the short term capital gains.

I mean if we are just "saving" money long term buy and hold I can open and "individual" Scottrade account and buy and 2X ETF like SSO to hold. Its return is 2 times the S&P and all I would pay is 15% long term capital gains. I would still be ahead of TSP. I have all the choice TSP has and much more and in the near term my taxes will be less. Who knows what taxes will be when I withdrawal from my TSP.

NOW, that being said, and I hope Long and Ray read this, I would consider go back to putting 25% of my salary or more into TSP if they would get off their asses and provide a ROTH TSP.

Show Me,

Yep, Long and his comrades sure screwed those of us that wanted to actively manage our accounts. I'm already getting the matching funds in TSP and fully funding 2 Roths and will have more income to invest next year. I'm very interested in what TSP will do with the Roth, but if Long or Ray have any say, it'll be what's best for barclays and not us. And to tell the truth, I don't have a lot of faith in barclays managing our funds or our ahole politicians keeping there fingers outta our funds.

With less than 7 years to go, if we're not killed the next 4 years, I'm making a big push to sock away as much as possible, though I did get my Glock 27 CCW yesterday. First toy I've bought for myself in almost 3 years. :D

GL investing. :D

CB,

Nice toy!!! My kind of toy!!! I just bought a Taurus Judge, .45 long colt and it cambers .410 shotgun shells for self defense/close range. Beautiful piece!

Don Harrold is very entertaining but does not give much market analysis on his videos. Here he is bashing Jim Cramer and make very valid point. Buy, buy, buy, not!

Previous GDP's revised down and didn't meet current expectations,
jobless claims surge. Thats gonna hurt for a while.

Yep, I'm a day late getting out of the C fund. I realized it yesterday at noon and thought that the market would be nervous the day prior to the jobs number release. And, two up days in a bear market rule. Now with jobless claims surging and GDP revised we are setting up for a retest of 1200. Hang on folks.

1200? I would probably buy stocks again at that level :toung:

Skip,

Nice platform. I do not have much confidence in this market yet. My trade was based on a very lousy June (-8.41%) and a possible bounce off of that very weak month. Now I am lick'n my small wounds.

Back from another long weekend. What happened? Got a new laptop for my trip. I'm George Jefferson, move'n on up!
