Seems folks are getting impatient sitting on the sidelines and are jumping into the fray to grab these bargain basement stock prices even in the face of gloomy financial news. If enough folks buy in now will that be enough to pull the market up or will they be just be more victims of this economic downturn. It could be argued that no matter what the market does from this point forward these prices are too good to pass up and some position in stocks, no matter how small, is prudent. Of course if you are near retirement it might be best to just forgo the market and be happy with the G fund or Lincome as this downturn could last awhile.:)

On the other hand does the fact that folks are still willing to buy into this mess indicate that we are still in denial and capitulation has yet to take place. As someone has said the turn around will happen when everyone on this MB is in the G fund, except Birchtree, of course.:)

I feel safe in predicting that either the market is about to blast off into outer space as the momentum explodes up to DOW 20,000 or this may be the biggest sucker rally of all time followed by collapse into the abyss of DOW 250 or somewhere in between. I'm sure I don't know. Still 100% G.:)

Inflationary Zimbabwe style?:D

I see a possible POP when the Auto Makers get their allowance, but doubt it will hold. Burntankle is being forced to cut rates playing follow the leader and that may PoP. BUT!!!!!! If the price of Gas and Oil stays low like it is now it WILL drag us out of this hole, but it will take time. The Oil suppliers will try and drive price up but will fail until the world economy catches up and can afford to use more energy!!

Well if you are going to try to match the top 30 MB members and you only have two IFTs/month now is the time for the second move of the month.

We continue the gradual move into stocks and away from the G fund. Can the Top 30 be wrong?

Let's look at what the top 20 leaders are invested in, when you combine all their contributions together.

G-Fund 70.2%
F-Fund 7.75%
C-Fund 8.9%
S-Fund 9.65%
I-Fund 3.5%

Cheers... JTH

Looks like your allocations are inline with the top 20. Heck your beating the S&P500 by over 30% :D

When the stock funds start going up, the people with stock fund start moving up in the top 30 on the autotracker list. That is probably what your top-30 percentage is showing.

Not if their hovering in the 40-50 pertcentile and we revisit, test or surpass
the current lows which many think was a bottom. And God forbid if they go
lower then that. Should the Market decide to return to Bull Status after forming
a new bottom, they'll be lucky to reach the 60-70 percentile, when all is said
and done. Should the market trade sideways with high volitility, many will be
coming up on retirement before they're able to recover from a Buy and Hold
scenario. Just a few of my thoughts (right, wrong or indifferent) while the Pain
Meds are in full effect.

I really need to back test this and see if would pan out over time especially this year. Keep trying to talk myself into putting something into the market as these prices seem cheap!:) I'm sure I don't know.

A slight move back to G.

Well now that I am in a more accustomed place in the tracker {+100}. I suppose I will need to get back into some stocks in order to potentially move up a little. The better I do in the tracker, the better I do in my retirement. Now what was my investment strategy ......... enni meeni mini mo......:)

Jumping back in a bit. G 80, F 5, C 5, S 5, I 5. Don't ask me how I arrived at this allocation, I am sure I don't know. It had something to do with some red and green lines crossing over a black line that have previously changed directions while merging with a couple of dotted lines. There were some flags and candles involved also. Also the number 20. Hope that helps. :)

I rode this down too long last year so I am getting out a little earlier this year. Something tells me things are beginning to fall apart. The emperor has no clothes. G 96, F 1, C 1, S 1, I 1. I may try to use Squalebear's <1 IFT system if I can find a good post that explains it to my level of understanding. Is there a dummies book on it?:)

This is beginning to look like an out of control train going down a steep hill with no brakes. There is no good scenario if that is the case. With the Treasury selling bonds to the Fed which prints the money to pay for them and then gets the same money back from the Treasury to pay for printing more money and so forth and so on....This is quickly turning into an economic disaster waiting to happen. Is it even possible for this economy to correct itself based on what is going on at the most fundamental level? Evidently this process started many, many years ago. It matters not whether Democrat or Republican, they all have been aware of this ongoing process and have the economic blood of our economy on their hands. We are a resilient people and can survive and even prosper in trying times yet it seems we are ill prepared to face what may be coming our way. To that end it may not matter what our TSP balance is or what we hope to retire with, if the underlying fundamentals of our economy are placed on nothing but lies and deception, smoke and mirrors, useless paper and ink, we are in for a rude awakening. Have a good day. :)

Geithner is a tax evader heading the IRS, an agency that will not hire tax evaders as employees, per their own printed applications for employment. Now the entire IRS works for a tax evader. How must the average federal worker for that agency feel now--their boss is just the kind of crook they are supposed to catch.:(:worried:
