ravensfan's Account Talk

First IFT for December submitted today. 100% G Fund. I still have one IFT left for the Santa rally, but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Scrooge shows up instead.

Depending on how the day goes, I will be in the red for 2018.

If I hear one more person on TV tell me how great the economy is and how strong the fundamentals are, I'm going to throw a brick right through the screen...

Thanks to today's market action, I am now -0.57% year to date. I still have one IFT left and if we get a Santa rally and I time it just right, I still have an opportunity to get back into positive territory.

So a little food for thought: On 20 Sep 18, the S&P (C Fund) closed at a new all time high of 2930.75. Since that day, the G Fund has gained 0.65%, the F Fund has gained 0.95%, the C Fund has lost -9.76%, the S Fund has lost -13.69, and the I Fund has lost -10.80%.

"In other words, its a huge s**t sandwich and we're all going to have to take a bite." (from the movie Full Metal Jacket)
Have a great weekend.

Interesting little tidbit of info: Take a look at the 60 day numbers for the C, S and I funds. Counting back 60 business days, that puts us at 19 Sep 18, one day prior to the S&P's all time high...Hmmm???

Have a great evening!!!
:D

Looks like the selling is continuing as investors do not want to carry any risk into the holiday. There was support at 2400 in the S&P, but we cut through that this morning like a hot knife through butter.

Looks like the bears still have the upper hand and that may continue into the new year.:worried:

In spite of all the doom and gloom in the market, here's wishing all my friends at TSPTalk a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Congrats to the Ravens, looks like my Steelers are going to be sitting at home in the playoffs lol.

Thanks for the well wishes Sniper, but I'm not going to count my chickens to soon. Recall last year, we were the 6th seed going into the last game of the season. All we had to do was beat the Bengals and we were in the playoffs. Less than a minute to go, 4th and 12 and Andy Dalton uncorks a bomb that ended our season and propelled the Bills into the playoffs.

Nope, I'll strut my feathers if and when we beat the Browns and not a minute sooner. They are much improved over last year, so I am taking nothing for granted.

Funny thing though. One of the girls in the office is a big Steelers fan. Her and I are always ribbing each other. Just good clean rivalry fun. I remember saying to her back in October, "The only way the Steelers are getting to the playoffs is if they bought a ticket." Haven't seen her since Friday. I can guarantee she is NOT a happy girl...

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Decided to jump back in today with my second IFT of December. 50% G Fund, 30% C Fund, 20% S Fund, effective COB 12/26/18

Market is way oversold, so I'm hoping I played it right for a relief rally!!!

Good luck everyone!:D

With today's action hard to believe the SP500 was momentarily in the red. Seemed to act like a signal to buy. Good Luck All!!!

Have a great evening!!!

Well the shipwreck of 2018 has finally come to an end. I did manage to finish the year on a positive note (+ 0.43%) by getting back into positive territory on the last day of the year. Considering only 315 of the 1263 members were in positive territory at the end of 2018, I will take that as a victory. Bottom line, I beat the F, C, S and I funds.

So I managed to navigate through the murky waters and on 6 November I was actually up 4.08% year to date. But the rest of November and early December had me in negative territory as I fell into the "so called" best performing 6 months of the year.

So 2018 is in the rear view mirror.
C'est la vie! Bring on the new year and many happy returns.

Good luck everyone in 2019.[SUB][SUP]

Yeah I saw that. I'm hoping this is just a lot of market overreaction and by tomorrow cooler heads will prevail. I'm 50% G Fund, 30% C Fund and 20% S Fund, so at this point all I can do is sit back a watch...
