ravensfan's Account Talk

So this morning, all the sports news and watercooler talk circled around this past weekend's NFL games. One of the DJ's on a local radio station I listen to made the following point.

Why did the Rams and Patriots win? Television markets. LA is 2nd and Boston is 7th. Compare that to Kansas City at 31 and New Orleans at 53. Hmm!!! A lot more money can be made with number two facing off against number seven instead of number thirty one facing off against number 53... Yep, it's still all about the money...

Does anyone else think that this is karma for what the Saints did to Favre a few years ago?

It was very tempting to jump off the lily pad and get back in the game today, but I'm going to hold off just a bit longer.
Good luck everyone...

Have a great evening!!! :D

First IFT for February, 100% G Fund, effective COB 2/7/19.

Stayed in one day to long...:(

Oh well, easy come, easy go...

Thanks to the market coming back a little yesterday, I managed to salvage a 0.27% gain for this trade. Disapointing, but happy it didn't end in the red.

I'm thinking China trade deal and border wall funding are what's pulling the market down. Gonna sit on the lily pad while this plays out.

Note for Larry Kudlow: shut up already! :smashfreakB:

So much for making a few $$$ with all the euphoria over the China talks on Monday. In fact Stewart Varney was so sure the DOW would be up big by Friday. Should have stuck to my system, but no, I had to let myself be influenced by the news...:nono:

Effective COB today. 100% G Fund.

First IFT submitted for March. 40% G Fund, 30% C Fund, 30% S Fund. Effective COB 4 Mar 19.

Good luck everyone!!!:D

I just started doing some digging and probably gotten in as well if I hadn't missed the cutoff. As it is I will wait and see how this plays out but this could break very nice for you!

My thoughts....This could be the start of a drop but looks more like a smart money shake to get the dumb money out. Nothing more than a guess but IMO volume is on the very low side for sustained selling. I'm still watching that 2813ish - 2816ish mark...and 2774 for floor (or maybe 2745 for a slightly longer term look...I haven't decided yet which one to watch). Until one of those solidly breaks then we remain in one of those ranges and direction is meandering.

Thanks for the comments. Let's hope they are spot on. I spent some time this weekend reflecting on the moves I made in February and realized I fell into the trap of buying when the market was up and selling when it was down. So when I saw the market reverse just before the cutoff, to break the trend, I decided to take the plunge and buy the dip. Now all I have to do is figure out the best time to exit...

OK...for me the range I am looking at is confirmed as 2745ish- 2816ish. I am hopeful that the markets recover, at lease short term, from here. I am getting more concerned and only consider the 2745ish as a weak floor. If we break below that this afternoon then I am looking at 2700 for next significant resistance (2732 may hold a bit but I don't think it will be solid resistance). If we go to 2700 then I expect lower highs with any rebound we get.

As usual...these are just my pencil scratches and should be construed as nothing more than guesses:cool:

I'm sticking with the same range...floor got stretched a bit but not the ceiling so I am not making a move off the pad till I see something to change my scratches....

Unfortunately I am out of IFT's until 1 April. All I can do is grab my favorite adult beverage, put my feet up and watch the goings on...Then again, that might not be a bad position to be in...

And 2816 is getting flirted with on futures trading. Only thing I can say is that I think a wind up is occurring. Won’t guess which way it will break though. A lot of liquidity looking for safe places. Normally I would look for a position in the F fund right now but not trusting it. When some analysts I read say that the US and Germany equities are such places it proves what a crazy world it is right now!
