Poolman's Account Talk

Poolman,

I meant to reply a few days ago. It's great to hear your new business is going so well. I wondered occasionally how it was going after your "job change" from the pool company. Usually I think of you when I see our local "poolman" truck in the neighborhood. You haven't moved to AZ have you?

Guchi's thoughts about baby boomers needing help struck home with me. Though not yet 60 I am developing some mobility and strength issues. I am sure I am not alone. Yet my ego gets hurt when I have to hire someone to do something I know how to do myself. Maybe this is an avenue to explore, you could let the old fart "help". Probably would take lot's of patience, explaining why there is a better way to do it (some of us are opinionated old farts) , and possibly an extra charge. You know like 5% more if you watch and 10% more if you help.:cheesy:

Congrats on the successful new career.

this all occured to me when I was painting at my Moms house she is 79 and recently alone. I'm out of state, and if it wasn't for my good friend and good neighbor, i would be in serious trouble. with the homeowner helping it would give him a great feeling of worth and accomplishment. it would take a little longer, but that would all factor in. i like tinkering and would miss it if I could not do it, I'm sure others feel that way too. Pool, I did not mean to raid your house, but could not pass this op. to expand on my thoughts.

thanks and good luck with the casual work.

Hello PessOptimist,

Thanks for the feedback. There have been many times where an extra set of hands come in handy and I usually do ask the homeowner if they would like to assist me with such items. I also tell them if they help and I don't need to hire a helper and pay him through the whole job then the job will cost them less. 90% of the time the customer is more than willing to help to save $$$. :)

Hello GUCHI,

My answer to PessOptimist pretty much answers your thoughts here as well. Homeowners love to have a handyman there and sort of work along with me. Thanks and you are welcome in my account talk. :)

i'm working a job now redoing a dining room table and chairs. i enjoy this type of work, as long as it does not get to be too long a day working it. 4-6 hours is all I want with this part time work. usually i get paid cash, NICE!! they also want an estimate on painting some rooms.

Im going to have to agree with Frixxx...I love Brenna also! :p

Thanks for the vids as always Poolman. They are a daily stop for me.
