Hello Guy's and Gal's,

I'm not new to investing. I like this site and have been checking it out for a good 2 months. Lot's of information and I like the idea of getting tracked. So I'm here to help with the main objective. "Lets make money" :):cheesy:

P.S. Just for info not tracking. I will go to "no chat" and setup. All funds to me look quite toppy. Am currently

Welcome poolman, how about them saltwater pool generators and my Polaris is going around in little circles? :suspicious:
Best of luck with your investments!!!:D :D :D

Thanks Tom and nnuut for the welcome. nnuut we don't deal with saltwater generator's in our area so I can't respond to that but with your polaris running around in circles could 1 or a multitude of problems. We mainly deal with the polaris 380. Immediate things to check. When you spin by hand any of the three wheels the other two should spin also. If not you will need a belt kit. The sweep hose should not have any holes in it whatsoever and at the end of the sweep hose there is a tip with a small hole in it. Make sure this tip is still in the end of the hose and has not blown out. Check the head float and make sure there is no water in it. To do this pull the head float off and shake it, you should here no water in it. Make sure when you put it back on that you push it on until it is all the way seated. These three things are the easiest for you to check. After that things can get more complicated.

Wow! You are a POOL man! I have a 280 and it is workin' well, been through just about anything that can happen to it!! Just testing you! You more than passed, make a 100%. Now let's make some money!:D
Thanks
Norman

Test's are good. I do it all the time. Only way to know if a person is credible.

Your polaris is a commercial grade model usually given as an incentive for buying a new pool or a deep discount to the 380.

Polaris 380 is a whole different animal though. Somthing to consider if you encounter a costly service call or to fix your 280. You already have the seperate booster pump.

Polaris always has the trade-up program with a $125.00 rebate check that you usually see in about 3 weeks.

Well the folks I know that have the 380s are having more trouble than I am! When I bought this one in Dec. of 1997, I'm not sure they if had the 380? Might have, but I'm satisfied with this old 280. Larger neck opening, can suck up a squirrel!:D :D

O.K. For anybody that has read any of my posts you know I am on vacation.

You know I am hooked. I went out and bought a nice $1,000.00 laptop and am hooked up via wireless right out of my pad. Oh Yea ... I am lovin this.

Are we still looking good for this international trade to the I-Fund?

Can someone give me a link to a good site showing all OSM'S tonight?

Thanks ....!!!

P.S. Still not used to a laptop computer if anything looks weird for the next week..

IMO,

I think talks about a rate cut yesterday are fueling this market. This is what I was hoping for. Between that, Ebb's charting system, and what other people say on this site is the reason I went 100% - S.

Market opened strong and has maintained a strong position. I think going to the I - Fund tomorrow is a no - brainer.

I would hate to be out when and if we get a rate cut. Yes by markets maintaining a strong position could make the feds think do we need a rate cut.

O.K. Wife is bxtching about I'm on vacation and am on this computer most of the time. I'm telling her there is money to be made. Uhhhhh....

Out to the beach I go for awhile.

good luck everyone...

This appears to be the perfect Catch-22:

Market goes up in anticipation of a rate cut.....no rate cut.....market is disappointed and drops
Market goes down due to subprime/credit concerns.....rate cut.....market rallies

Another question is, how will the market respond to a 1/4% or 1/2% cut?

I'v seen this before and I believe its inaccurate because the S&P 500 fair value has not been updated to reflete Friday's close at 1557.59. Notice the date on the fair value price is for Thursday (10/4/07) evening (7:22pm). Nonetheless, the futures are still up about 10.7 points, if the new fair value is 1560.

My move to the S fund yesterday was a big mistake. I didn't feel good about it but followed because many member's were doing it and for what reason I didn't know. I guess I didn't want to miss a buying oppurtunity.

Early this morning I thought I might be able to get out of this trade without to much damage but when I saw the market's around 11:30 I knew I was between a rock and a hard place.

I guess I will try to dca myself out of this mess.

Lesson learned. Don't play follow the leader. :o

Ah, gee just put a bandaid on it. It's always good to bleed a little as a reminder for the next time - you got plenty of blood. Don't panic out at this point - DCA into further weakness if you can and the rebound will be sweet. Kind a like putting that aramic acid in the pool - makes the water sweet.

DCA is dollar cost averaging - you use your payroll contribution to purchase more shares when the money is due for deposit. I leave mine to fate and it all goes into the C fund - I've been buying since 2/04 without trying to time the price. Sometimes time in the market is more rewarding than timing the markets.
