Playing the I fund

Yikes. 1.839%. Even after the correction of the correction the I fund should close somewhere around 19.35 (pulling away even further).

It will be another interesting day for the I-fund.
Do you think the Barclays boys will post the whole amount (1.839% gain = $19.50) or "FV" number ($19.35)? Stay tune!!! :)

This is sweet....since I'm 100% I fund. Looks like we are going to have a great quarter with one day remaining. Got to watch this closely....

Canadian dollar closes above 86 cents US as gold soars, U.S. buck falters

CBC News

The U.S. dollar weakened as the New York Times reported that the new White House chief of staff, Joshua Bolten, wants to replace U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow. The White House said the report was "premature."

Traders also said the prospect that the interest rate gap between U.S. and European interest rates would widen was putting pressure on the American currency.

Oil futures gained 70 cents to $67.15 US a barrel in New York trading.

I believe the market will turn on a dime once Iran and the Price of oil gets the attention of the talking heads. The I fund is safe as long as the US market isn't distracted by the price of oil and the new developments with Iran. Once panic set in, the I fund will take a nose dive. Today may have been a good day to get out. I didn't because I love pain, Nausea and vomiting. Not really I spent the day at the beach.

Son of a Geisha

It would be advantageous to consider that Nikkei has already experienced two 1000 point corrections since January'06. I quick trip back to 16,000 is certainly not out of the question - especially if all this attention to technology is a bull head fake. I know I sound like a bear - I'm actually not. Just be prepared for the panic factor and don't panic - volatility is back.

I agree with Dennis.

For you folks heavily in (I) Friday just may be your day to take some profits for the weekend.

The Nikkei already opened negative for Friday, but that could quickly turn positive.

But all in all, you've guys had a great run. Why get greedy and allow it to nip you in the bud?

Hot off the press... looking for the Yen to fall:

Keep this in mind too:

Any losses in the yen may be limited after a government report today showed Japan's unemployment rate fell to 4.1 percent in February, the lowest since July 1998, according to the government's statistics bureau in Tokyo.

``Low jobless-rate figures are certainly yen-supportive,'' said Tomoko Fujii, a senior currency strategist at Bank of America N.A. in Tokyo. ``It leads to wage-increases pressure, prompting the BOJ to lift its zero interest-rate policy in the near future.''

No gut = No gain

The I-fund is so strong right now especially with the weak dollars. For every backward step the I-fund retreats, it moves forward two steps. Talke a look at the price for the past two months and you'll see the pattern. I'm staying put and ride this rocket for now and will bail out if only if it's pulling big negative G. :-)
Good luck to everyone.

I don't know If I agree with that... every step it did take backwards at a high took at least 7 trading days to recoop the losses.

Why stay in during those days of retraction???

Case in point:

18.68 on Feb 1

then 16 days of retraction until:

18.71 on Feb 27

then 9 days of retraction until:

18.74 on Mar 13 which began a bull run to 19.24 through Mar 20

then another 7 days of retraction until:

19.39 TODAY

I'm thinking some retraction days are on the horizon.

Gone. I dont want to stand in the way of profit taking in Japan so I am out of here for a very short while.
Plus oil at $65+ cant be good
have a nice weekend, I will be working.

Height being on the sidelines but I think it would be the smart thing to do at least for a few days. Should pick up the penny Monday if I do the move to G.
Good luck

Probably will unload my 60% in the I fund before noon, I'll be in Cancun next week drinking a few wobbly pops, and sipping on a few frozen pineapple drinks, not sure where I will rebalance the rest of my funds, but you can expect something before noon. Need to be somewhere confortable for the week, so I don't have to face the wall of worry.
