Playing the I fund

EAFE says -.205%

You nailed it z!

Good work! To be able to get the price this early is phenomenal in my opinion.
It is a true skill!

Thank you SS.

I think the dollar has fallen enough to trigger a +FV of 10 cents. It has fallen .284% or 6 cents. I think anything below .250 triggers it.

I was looking at that as well. With the modest gain compared to earlier and the dollar drop it looks like it might. This will be a good gauge for future FV situations.

If the USM had finished up .5% higher than at 1200 est, we could have been looking at a double factor for +FV of 20 cents.

But for today, I think we are looking at a +10 FV for a total gain of 6 cents.

Does the correction FV always follow the next day? If not, does anyone have an idea what the distribution of days until the correction FV is made is?

Usually it is the next day - unless something really bizarre happens (something that would require another FV)

On a different note, the EAFE was down more then the EFA yesterday and is now up considerable more then EFA, today. I believe the EAFE now has quite a bit of speculation built into the price, making it very unreliable as an indicator of the OSMs.

Yes, it normally does correct the next day but you can't rely on it 100% because of market conditions. If similar conditions occur that created it in the FV in the first place, then it may take another day.

"Plan information is temporarily unavailable. We regret the inconvenience."

Talked to a live person and she said the reason for the system being down is unknown and the length of time it is down is unknown.

Fixed now

Did we get robbed?or we're goin to see this gain tomorrow.how come there's no +FV?

Looks like Barclays fell asleep on the job today. The folks that jumped into the I fund are already starting up 6 cents. Actually, the dollar has just continued is plunge so the I fund might make out big tomorrow or at the least break even if the USM falls.

She gave me the Queen
She gave me the King
She was wheelin' and dealin'
Just doin' her thing
She was holdin' a pair
But I had to try
Her Deuce was wild
But my Ace was high
But how was I to know
That she'd been dealt with before
Said she'd never had a Full House
But I should have known
From the tattoo on her left leg
And the garter on her right
She'd have the card to bring me down
If she played it right

She's got the Jack!
AC/DC

Maybe we win tomorrow

Hey CommTech,

A thought... If we are already up .06, maybe the threshold is .10 for an FV. Just an idea.

I for one am very glad that there was no FV today.....:)

I use to think it was at .10 or .5%. But after seeing some recent FV, I think it might be a grey area or it might vary from day to day. Barclays have not told us the exact formula. Obviously, .06 was not enough today. So, maybe it's between .07 and .10. Has anybody been collecting data on FV? Does anybody know why FV only come in .10 or .20?

How in the wideworld of sports is EFA up 0.89%, and the I fund down 4 cents?!

I know there's all the voodoo with the dollar, etc, but that dispairity seems excessive.

Yep, the ISHARES MSCI EAFE (EFA) continued to go up 'cause it was affected by the dollar weakening all afternoon. Barclays should have given us that +FV.

Sooner or later we'd figure out the exact range before an FV is triggered. Barclays should come out with the FV parameters just to allay our fears. For all we know, they could be determining the FV arbitrarily (heads/tails, rock/scissor). :D
