Playing the I fund

Without using a calculator and just looking at the indexes and dollar, I'd say plus 0.4% for the I-fund today. Of couse this estimate is subject to an FV based on late in the day movement.

That would mean a +fv today, taken back tomorrow. If you really believe that, the move would be to bail out today. Taking bets??

A FV doesn't have to be evened out the next day. The longest I've seen is three days. It just depends on market conditions.

G 11.60 even
F 10.98 +.01
C 15.05 +.02
S 17.94 -.02
I 20.55 +.10

I guess the I-fund got back a cent of FV. We were expecting only +.09 today. :)

FV's (and corrections) will not normally come in 1 cent increments. It was likely rounding. While yesterday's quoted price was 20.45 it's actual value was most likely 20.45 and then some more decimal places totaling less than .005. Multiply that by EAFE's .465% and you get 20.54 and a few more decimal places totaling more than .005 thus a quoted price of 20.55.

Make sense.

Thanks, Wheels. Does this mean you're back on the board? Or maybe you never left. We miss your comments and competitive spirit. :D

If I have adjusted my spreadsheet correctly, yesterday's price for the I fund was about 20.45318, which would make today's price roughly 20.5477.

Man, look at Japan's markets this morning! They just can't decide which direction to take.

Nikkei 300 is up 0.21%, but the intraday chart shows lower lows and lower highs, as does the Nikkei 225.

But, after yesterday's action in Japan, there's no telling where they'll end up.
