oleg850's Account Talk

Sold the 25% lot of TNA I bought for $69.35 at $71.05 this AM for 2.5% profit.

My System threw a warning flag this morning and may go to CASH as soon as COB today. I am playing it defensively right now with only 50% net long exposure, as it technically remains on a BUY. If we start to rally from these levels, I will increase my exposure on the long side as the trend becomes more evident.

Thanks, but with the recent options run CrabClaw has had, I think he deserves the recognition more so than myself!

Too soon to tell right now, of course, but if the markets are flat/positive TOMORROW, the System will likely go LONG.

YepPee! YaBaDaBaDo! I'm with you!

(Because I want to be rich...Just like you!)

Obviously, if this morning's futures are any indication of the market action today, the System will remain in CASH over the weekend. I will update near COB.

Looks like the bulls are in for more pain.

On a side note, this may not be a bad time to start looking at some individual stocks or index funds to add to a long term portfolio. Mr. Market is starting to roll back the prices on just about everything.

I Dollar Cost Average into SPY, IWM, QQQ, and XLF at the end of each month, using fixed purchase amounts, as they are easier to liquidate during bear markets than having hundreds of individual stocks. I keep saying I'm going to outline this long term investment strategy in detail, but work/home obligations keep tying me up. Maybe this weekend..

I took a discretionary position in XIV at $26.68. This trade is not based on my system, which will remain in CASH at least until tomorrow. It is mainly based on momentum and technicals. As with all the discretionary trades I take, the position size is small and allows plenty of capital to dollar cost average.

I doubled down on XIV last night in AH at $26.14, just sold that lot for 3% gain. Holding original lot from $26.68 into the 30 territory.

Re: The RICH MAN Account Talk

I thought about taking a 1 day gamble with XIV too once it went under 27 AHs, but ultimately it was too high risk to pull the trigger. Good luck! I wasn't planning on holding it to the close of tomorrow.

$30? Really? This quarter?

XIV is down nearly 30% in 2 weeks. You've been around long enough to know that legitimate bear markets take months to form. You don't fall from grace in the first instance. What I see so far is just another correction, nothing more. Until the 50 and 100 weekly are taken out, the bulls are still in control. I don't think a 12% retrace is too much to ask..

True, but I think I need to disagree on the bulls being in control. While this could be true, they could also be losing that control...

System remains in CASH.

I'm expecting a range bound day, with a bit of downward bias. If XIV makes it down into the 24 range, I will add to my existing small position.

Will post the trade when/if I take it.

I see AAPL closing that gap real soon, and then some. Been an absolute monster through these declines.
