nasa1974's Account Talk

I wouldn't want to miss the hot time summer in the city thing - I'll be essentially long most of the way - waiting on several cycles to nest.

Birch, Your bullishness is remarkable.:D We expect nothing less.
You as well as many others know what the three summer months can be like for investing. Low volume for one. Granted this current rally has been moving along on some light volume. However, June, July and August can have some very serious mood swings. 2003 was the only year that all three funds (CSI) where positive for all three months. Why not protect your YTD earnings and wait it out or at least keep your toes in the pond. If the correction is going to come it will be over the summer.
I keep thinking of the song "Aquarius" from Hair - "When the Moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars..."

Going to be interesting today. Asian markets where up and Europe was mixed already. So will that translate to a good day?
So far this has been a Dr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde week. Monday I was down .37% and Tuesday I lost 2.47% for a two day total of 2.84%. Wednesday started the recovery with a positive .45% and yesterday I got back another 1.60% (that was a surprise) for a two day total of 2.05%. If today can continue to rally all I will need to get back all my losses will be .41%.
Good Luck everyone.

- rather frustrating to end up where you were two weeks ago - after all the analysis, listening, posting....
:p(eaves-dropping from my corner...!)

Good thing we have the Lounge for diversion !!!!

Thanks grandma. How true. April was profitable, MTD 4.05% and YTD 11.06%, so I really am not complaining. But it could have been so much better. I added just under $5,000.00 (not bad) but I lost just over $8,000.00. Hopefully May will added a little more to my account but I really need to evaluate what I want to do in June, July and August.

Nasa,

I understand the 1% move. But, what is your strategy for the 1% move?

Thanks,

Steve

Most of the time I will make a <1% move if all three funds are negative (CSI) before the noon deadline. There is an occasion that I will not make a move if one fund is still positive or the trend is moving in a positive direction before noon.

So, you just DCA the down days before noon. That's pretty cool. I did a 1% last friday and after it was figured it turned out to be 1.8%. And with a down day on Friday It bought a lot. With todays up move, I used 1 IFT to move 70% back to the G account.

Thanks,

Steve

Just remember you need at least 1% in each fund to do the <1%.

Got spanked pretty good yesterday. Dropped 19 spots in the tracker. So will today continue the trend? If so it should be a big spike up.
Good luck everyone.

What a day. Not only do I loose 3.4% in my account but I drop back to the middle of the second page.

Alright folks what the heck just happened today and it was no computer error!

Talk about taking the plunge. On April 23rd I was 13.86% YTD and after yesterdays plunge I have fallen to 4.91% YTD. :( Sure hope someone goes to jail after yesterdays manipulation of the market. I do not believe it was a computer error or someone mistakenly typing a B instead of an M.

Tough week last week. For those that couldn't pull the trigger during the rally, congratulations. Last weeks spiral into hell has leveled the playing field again in the TSPTracker.
It is amazing that one week of panic can destroy two months of profit.:(
