nasa1974's Account Talk

The attachment is a compilation of the January totals from Govexec.com.
After looking at the totals I think I am going into the G fund today.

Happy New Year

Dang, got busy and didn't make my move to the G fund. If the market doesn't worsen then YTD should be just above my 2007 finish. It only took me two years to recover my losses.

Happy New Year everybody.

It sure has been awhile since the last big sell off in the last half hour of trading has happened, but today sure showed how ugly it can get. So much for ending 2009 above my 2007 totals.

Everybody have a safe evening.

Happy New Year!

There have been a lot of new members coming on board the last two weeks. Just an FYI.

If you wish you had more than two IFT's then you may want to read the <1% option account. If you have any questions about the <1% option you can post them here.

Good luck in 2010.......

Here are the 2009 final numbers for the "<1% option" vs "Buy and Hold".
Again each fund started 2009 with $100,000.00. You can make your own conclusions.

<1% $125,954.52 (GFCSI 40%, 5%, 19%, 18% & 18%)
80,5,5,5,5%
$106,789.00 (GFCSI)
30,35,35% $127,529.20 (CSI)
G-100% $102,958.60
F-100% $106,537.82
C-100% $122,747.53
S-100% $131,737.79
I-100% $127,419.20

The spreadsheet is an Excel Office 2007 and 1,176KB. So if anyone wants to see the whole thing I can E-mail to you or maybe Tom can post it.

Well I came "this close, $558.33" to finishing 2009 at or above my 2007 finish. It took me two years to recover.
Including my contributions I ended the year at a 14.14% profit. The month finished at a 3.62% and the 4th quarter was a staggering 6.16%. :D
My absolute low point was March 5th of this year and I was able to add 37.9% to my account. Not bad for a rookie.

So far the market is looking real green, so maybe it was a good thing I got busy and couldn't pull everything back into the G fund on Thursday.

I hope 2010 is more profitable than 2009.

Good luck everybody.

Just jumped to the TSP website and the FRTIB website and nothing new popping up for 2010, yet.:D

Something interesting. The FRTIB did not put out one press release for 2009. MMMMMM!!!! I wonder what will happen for 2010.

I looked at the Tracker for 2010 yesterday and noticed I was at 186??????? I was a bit confused since I ended 2009 at 172. :notrust: Why did I drop 14 spots with no trading going on?

 Then it dawned on me that we had been placed alphabetically. DUH!!!

Maybe I should change from nasa1974 to 1974nasa, then I would be in the top 10 the beginning of every year.

Just checked the Tracker a few minutes ago and todays numbers hadn't been posted but I fell from 186 to 191. What the heck???? I think I will change my name to 1974nasa. Then at least I will be number one once a year.

Don't feel too bad buddy, this weekend was the highest I've been on the tracker since Jan 09 :p

You Crack Me Up !

Counting today the market has been fairly flat. Other than a few members calling for a correction, what will the market do? Last year started out pretty much the same way and then some wild moves up and down before the bottom fell out. Going to be tough with our 2 IFT's for the month. Good luck everybody.

WOW! 126 in the Tracker yesterday. That is the highest I have been since early February last year. Maybe this year I can stay in the top 100.
