nasa1974's Account Talk

Still no power. Fortunately, the generator is holding up. I heard our power company sent a bunch of trucks and linemen down to Florida Monday to help with hurricane Debbie. Then our storm blew through late afternoon yesterday. One tornado confirmed and over 430,000 were without power yesterday. Still over 300,000 without power today. Going to be a long week.

Best wishes to you NASA ...I pray all goes well for you and others there.

Thanks.
The National Weather Service said that a tornado passed right over the top of me. In the report they even mentioned my neighbor's porch. Just got a text from the power company that says "We expect all power will be restored for the majority of customers before Wednesday 8/14." Dang. I've never run my generator this long. I hope it hold up. Got to keep my beer cold.

Dang nasa! That's a little too close for comfort. Glad to hear you are okay. Hopefully, power will be restored soon. :worried:

Watch Out: Tornado Alley Is Migrating Eastward

I'm glad you're safe out there, not having electricity sucks, but I hope you have hot water! Always thought if I lived in tornado alley, it'd be all the excuse needed to build a deluxe SHTF Zombie Apocalypse underground bunker.

I'm hearing it could be the middle of next week before everyone has power restored. What stinks is the next street about 7 houses down from me has power.

It was interesting to say the least. My hot water tank is natural gas. Good thing to. Don't like the idea after sweating cleaning up all the debris in the yard.

NWS report on the 2 EF-1 tornados, mentioned my neighbor's porch being destroyed by a falling tree. Most of the damage around the area was by straight line winds. My weather station had a wind gust of 32 mph. But a buoy in Lake Erie just off the coast from downtown had a gust of 86 mph. The wind out of the north was so strong that some of the beaches recorded storm surge. How crazy is that.

Woo! Hoo! My power came back on around 9pm. Generator is off, and everything is plugged in, and the A/C is on.

I love riding roller coasters and I've been to Cedar Point Amusement Park 7 times this year so far. But this stock market roller coaster ride is making me nauseous.

Just got a letter yesterday saying "We are sorry to inform you that our company has been hacked and we believe your information may have been compromised. Please call us for two years of free monitoring with IDX. Did a web search and it's legit. Dang it.

Well, after the numerous stories in the last couple days of 2.9 billion SS numbers and personal info quite possibly being hacked and on the market, it's probably wise for all of us to contact our credit agencies for some additional monitoring. :worried::worried::worried:

Yeah. Between AT&T, AAA, OPM, and Norton AV watching my back I should be ok. :worried: Now I just signed up for IDX. I got a notice from Change Healthcare. So, I guess the next day or two I'll check my credit report and sign up for fraud alert.
On the good side the market is doing ok. Although it ain't 4 o'clock yet.

Feels odd not seeing nnuut's multiple posts and being in double digits for the top poster in the last 24 hours. This will take some getting used to.

Yup! I hope he's enjoying his new found freedom. :D

Whose going to catch him or is he the Cal Ripkin of posts?

I would say that number will be very difficult to exceed. Cal Ripken for sure. Matter of fact I think the top 3 spots will be hard to match or exceed.

Well, the "I" fund outperformed the "C" & "S" funds today, but we saw green. Another green Friday in the books.
