nasa1974's Account Talk

It will be when it bottoms. I have to admire your perma bull attitude but when the market is finally doing what markets do when manipulation can not compete with real facts, I can't help but think that even a blind squirrel (squirrel!! - pause, pause) finds a nut once in awhile. Yes the market will go up, but not until the damage assessment is in and that has not happened yet.

I come here to learn and get educated opinion, not optimistic platitudes. And although there is less and less educational information available due to so many selling their knowledge and leaving the sharing atmosphere that built this amazing website, I still come here to learn because its a dynamic membership. For every person who takes their ball and leaves, there are new people coming on who are willing to share an insight that open the knowledge base up. I appreciate this sharing dynamic where real knowledge for the joy of discovery and control of our retirement is freely and, it some cases, entertainingly shared.

Thanks NASA1974 for sharing. Your thread is one of my must reads. Sorry for the brief hijack.

Thanks Malyla.

I actually thought that yesterday would have been the worst. But today really surprised me. I figured it would be a stretch to think we would see green today but the market did start out optimistically. Tanked around lunch time and slowly started to recover and then 3:30 hit and the market went stupid. DANG!!!

Let's hope the Luck of the Irish can spread a little green into the market tomorrow. :D:D

I know the market just opened but can we stay green for the day? I sure hope so. Unfortunately I think it will be short term. I do not think the rally train has left the station, yet. Too much negative news out there.

Well we made up some ground from yesterday. For those in the I fund great day all. Let's hope the market can continue moving up tomorrow. Good luck everybody.

Not sure what is going to happen tomorrow with the market. This came out about 6:45pm on AOL NEWS.

PARTING SHOT: Departing sunspot 1169 erupted during the late hours of March 16th and hurled a spectacular coronal mass ejection (CME) over the sun's western limb. Click on the image to play a movie of the expanding cloud:
Only a week ago, sunspot 1169 was squarely facing our planet. If the eruption had occurred then, we'd be expecting bright auroras and geomagnetic storms before the weekend. Instead, this CME will sail wide right of Earth with negligible effect. Maybe next time.

Historic First: A Spacecraft Orbits Mercury

"March 18, 2011: NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft successfully achieved orbit around Mercury at approximately 9 p.m. EDT on Thursday, March 17. This marks the first time a spacecraft has accomplished this engineering and scientific milestone at our solar system's innermost planet..."

MESSENGER huh! That's appropriate for a spacecraft orbiting Mercury (the Roman messenger god). :D

The C fund started making me nervous. I thought I was going to have to throw on some sticky pants. :suspicious: What a difference a week makes.

Workers pulled at Japan nuke plant as smoke rises

By ERIC TALMADGE and MARI YAMAGUCHI, Associated Press

"FUKUSHIMA, Japan – Operators evacuated workers from Japan's tsunami-damaged nuclear plant Monday after gray smoke rose from one of its reactor units, the latest of persistent troubles in stabilizing the radiation-leaking complex.
The evacuation brought to a standstill some of the work on restoring the plant's electrical lines and restarting the water pumping systems needed to keep nuclear fuel from overheating and releasing even greater amounts of radiation..."

Japan markets are closed today.

So they are. My bad. I just did a quick drive-by and didn't realize that the Nikkei wasn't open for trading today. The front page I look at just showed closed as all the Asian markets are. It wasn't until I got into the more informative pages that it showed the last trading date as Friday.
