I had to put my Dad in a nursing home today. He is 90. My Mom is 88 and in an assisted living facility.
It is the first time they have been apart for 70 years.
I don't know how to express the sadness.
But John Prine does.......

Similar situation with my 85 year old parents; my father had a stroke and passed on, my mother's broken heart and spirit lost her will to live without dad and she died 6 months later. It deeply hurts when that light begins to fade. Stay strong, it just doesn't get easier. Just love them and tell them so!! often. This song puts it all in perspective for me.

Dad fell at the nursing home and broke his hip, cracked his spine and busted his head pretty bad.
Hip surgery was too much for him.
He is in Hospice care now and could go at any time.

Dad Passed away a few days ago. The surgery was just too much for him.
He lived 90 good years and had a good life.

Thanks for posting this TSP Roulette. I saw that it said RIP, but did not realize he died many years ago. wow...dont know how I missed that... i loved his well known song, Still Got The Blues (for you...)
