MrJohnRoss' Account Talk

Anyone else holding BIB? It's had a great run (up 23.86% since purchase), but it's showing signs of a short term top here. Watch this one closely. Maybe we'll consolidate in a box for a while before resuming the uptrend.

S Fund is doing well today, at a new all time high. Here's what's troubling me... There is divergence with the S&P (all time high) vs the Dow, the Transports, and especially, the Financials. Very troubling, and something's gotta give sooner or later.

Agree Mr Ross...all looks cheery...but... There should be a little pull back soon. Will be exiting today.. Wait for pull back then back in. You've had a great run in February! Best wishes! DBA

On the other hand, CURE is screaming to the upside today. Any holders? Never heard of CURE until JTH turned me on to it on his thread. Thanks Jason!

Between TQQQ, BIB, and CURE, I've been raking in some nice piles this month.

Thank you Dreamboat. Was very lucky to time this wave just right. Good luck to you on your exit today... maybe it's the top, who knows. My system says to stay in until it curls over to the downside. As such, I will never catch the exact top, but will get the lions share of the gains and avoid the major losses.

I've been holding since the first trading day of the year, up 39.6% right now. I'll look at charts this weekend and decide whether to keep holding or not.

Damn, Sam, you done goooood. I'm thinking this will be a good, no scratch that, great long term hold if you can stomach the volatility. Look at the one year chart. Yes, it's gotten a bit too far above the 50 day SMA, and needs to back off before resuming it's uptrend, but it's hard to argue against holding this for the longer term.

Thanks man :) A little luck always helps sometimes haha. I have to admit that the pullback in mid jan had me sweating and almost sold for +10% gain, but I'm glad I stuck with my system rules (only make moves on the 1st trading day of the month). If there's anything I've gotten a lot better at since I started investing, was the ability to not let my fear make my decisions.

JR,
I missed an opportunity to unload DUST at 21.00+ this morning. Are you still signaling a buy for DUST?

Yes, DUST remains a hold at this time. There will be some smaller rallies and counter-trend rallies, but I believe the next intermediate move is higher for DUST. I might be proven wrong, but until the charts say otherwise, I'm staying long.

Looks like every move below the 50 day has been a great buying opportunity. If anyone looks at this chart, that's a big hint on how to make money on the next move with BIB. Be patient and wait for a pull-back. The next (intermediate) move is a down wave, IMHO.

John,

Are you still holding SGMS? If so, where are you looking to sell?

Some big dogs in the company bought a lot of shares on the 25th. Maybe we have a bit of upside to go...?

Yessir. This is a longer term project. I see a nice bottoming pattern forming. I got in just a tad too early (13.53), but if we get back up to the 19 area, that's a 40% gain in my pocket. It may take a few months to get there, but momentum is to the upside.... for now.

Counting on it to pull back, but it might not be as far as the 50-day before continuing its uptrend. The chart does show it rather extended looking though and in need of a breather

Sounds good. I'm in at 13.10. I only bought 150 shares though since I try to keep my Roth balanced out and not be too heavy in one stock. Once I have been investing in my Roth for 10+ years I will have a nice chunk of money to invest. It's hard to work with only four years of investing since there is so much I want to buy haha.
