Well the market went up yesterday after our deadline so I'm glad I only put 50% back into the S fund. I'll put the other 50% back into it today and try to buy low.

I decided against goint to that "workshop" today. Too nice out...................:^

Good luck,

BTW, for those that don't get it yet, this is considered "dollar cost averaging". If a fund drops after your initial buy, keep buying as it drops. This way if you buy shares at say $15, $14.50 and finally at $14.00 and then it starts coming back up, your average per share price paid is $14.50. This is better than putting all your eggs in one basket at $15 per share.

Of course, I usually put all my eggs in one basket. It leaves one hand free to do "other" things...............:^

Let's see, I bought 50% of my S shares on 7th at $15.93 and the other 50% on the 8th at $15.87. This means I paid an average of $15.90 per share so this is what I need the S fund to end up today in order to break even. Anything over that is gravy. I'm thinking.................$15.98?

Good luck all,

At least you didn't type "ROLO" like ppl keep doing for reasons unknown. (they emphasise it in person to...too funny)

OooooOOOOOOHHHH! I wondered whatdahell you were doing. I am curious to see if "those people" end up being the most correct for maximising returns. When did you start DCA?

When I left that site that you posted at even though you weren't posting as a TSPer......;)

You know, that site that allows bashings as long as it's someone that the moderator doesn't care for? Like my pappy use to say " you gotta stand for something or you'll fall for anything"......no wait, that was a song....oh that's right, I sang it at karaoke one night......

I don't usually DCA, you know that. Having to make a move 4 hrs before the close of the market sometimes dictates it though. Don't worry little buddy, like I tell my teammates, I'll be there in the end. :^ Just remember, the only ones that count are the ones that are still there for you when you are down on your luck. So far this year I have the lowest return of anyone. Just remember, it's not how fast you start the race, it's how you finish. :^

Speakin' of which, I have to go. I have a fishin' tournament in the mornin'...............

Good luck all,

Oh Rolo, thanks for bringing it up, I can see how my post may have come across as condescending. My post was meant for those who aren't quite as market savvy as others. Sometimes this place gets a little technical, which is good for some, but we also have new members joining everyday. I know some of us that have been here for awhile take that for granted and get tired of seeing the same questions asked, but all of us here have become better educated on the market and most of us owe it to TSPtalk.com. Some have moved on, some have retired and living the high life, some have made enemies, some have made lasting friendships, some may have passed away, some have even met here and gotten married.......okay, that's stretching it a bit, but it could be...

Tell Sarah I said hi and I hope greggy is behaving over there will ya?

Yea, good point M_M. Some of us are still beginners. How could you be taken as condescending with that avatar. lol Rolo, nuclear, nuclear, nuclear. It's relatively new and you can't see it.......clear. NUCLEAR! heeheheh

Even regular mutual funds in a brokerage account shouldn't be traded like stocks...I know I only did more work for less return. It's like backing a trailer...finesse...not rapid moves.

heh...yeah...Jack, Jim, and that Scottish fellow, Grant.

Well I lucked out yesterday and got that penny in the G fund. Anybody see it coming that quickly? I sure didn't. Giving it back today though...............:'

I'll be loading up some more todayon both the S and yes, even the dastardly I fund! Figure the dollar has to take a break one of these days if not for just a day.......

I thought very seriously about just staying out yesterday since we are right at our highs of the year in both the C and S funds but I didn't. I was thinking we might be able to least go afew cents higher. Oh well, hoping for a bounce tomorrow then I'll most likely wait to see whattranspires...................yeah right. :oo

Good luck,

M_M

I love the fact that only my comment is deleted from "El Vis's" account...........I was right, right?

YOu can delete me too if you which Pyriel, or Tom, or whoever is in charge.

Amazing..........

You are right... Your comment had been deleted... Funny, I haven't deleted anything at EL Vis account and I closed it so that no one can touch it. Hmmm....

I didn't either. Maybe those long weekends count.

I don't remember deleting any posts lately either but I won't swear to it. My memory is doing about as well as my TSP account... moving very slowly lately.

By the way, I appreciate what the moderators are doing. With 1200 plus members and almost 30,000 posts, I don't think 3 is too many. It helps me concentrate the the other parts of the site.

They are each assignedone or two categories.Mike only moderates the Weekly Sentiment Survey topic.

Thanks,
Tom

BTW, for all of you that wish to vote greggy back, he said some not too nice things about this site and it's administrator on another site. He says he's"better off" not being able to post here, sooooooooo..........Ithink, well, you all know what I think. :P

Did you ever get your money back from PayPal greggy?

Momma always told me, "don't say anything in public that you're not afraid to have come back up when you run for political office." :^
