I say youALL are real brave, we just broke a significant resistance point in the S fund (I'm not sure about the C fund) which was the 50 day moving average. In fact, we are 10 points below it. I'm watching here from the sidelines to see what happens and I wish you all good fortune, seriously. I hope I'm wrong, but this market may be on the verge of a tank. Just my opinion.
Hiya Aslan, do you mean "support" point? I actually have the S fund at another critical support level right now. We are also within about 3% of my "all bets are off" support level. If we fall past the support level now, which we very may well because of Katrina, I'll be looking at about $14.90 in the S fund as the last support point. After today I think we'll get a bounce the rest of the week and then perhaps fall backafter Labor Day then hopefully move on with bull market sometime later in Sept. I'm sure we'll take a hit today, but I'll hold tight till the end of the week.

And they said Friday that Katrina was heading back to Florida...........:*

Good luck and thanks,

Yes, I realized after I typed it I meant "support". Thanks for the correction.

Another thing to keep in mind is the volume. It was at 829,791 shares in the S fund today which is almost 160000 shares under the 30 day volumetric average of 982022. The question is:

wastoday a short covering rally (poor volume indicates this)

or was it a key reversal day. It is sometimes a real good thing to be down in the morning and recover, but you usually like to see HUGE volume. If the fund is up the next 2-3 days and goes over the 50 day MA and the volume is HUGE and above the 30 day average the next 2-3 days, I believe that it could be right back to the bull like you said. We are still with the S fund price today, below the 50 day MA.

It could go either way. Good Luck

I agree with you about the volume. I don't really think it'll pick up again till next week though.

I probably should taken the gain today and jumped out, but I didn't. I also thought about going into the I fund because the internationals were down this morning, but I HATE the I fund. It always gets me......:X

I've been watching your moves and your system looks similiar to the way I do my IRA's. I'm currently long in them but may go short by the end of the week. All depends on what happens. I make a lot more moves with my TSP.

Good luck,

Well I'm going to 100% F this morning. I came this close ( ) to going to the I fund but just couldn't hit the submit button............:h

I could of gained a few cents if I had gotten out for yesterday then jumped back in for today like I should of, as of right now anyway, but at least I only lost a couple cents.

Good luck all,

Hmmmmmm interesting. All the stocks that I invest in and keep track of, and USUALLY mimic the S and C funds, are down and the S and C are up. Hope this isn't a bear trap. Those things hurt!

Well this mornings action has mandated that I stay in the S fund until at least Tues. I hope things turn around this afternoon especially since some of you are bailing today. My system hasn't produced any sell signals what so ever so I'll just let er ride till next week.

Have a good weekend all and good luck.

Looks like a good day to be in the C and S funds. I'll take the opportunity to sell my S fund and go over to the G fund for a day. Who knows, I might even catch the penny tomorrow...............

Good luck,

M_M

PS- still no sell signal but I didn't much like the action on Friday. I'll be looking for another buy opp either tomorrow or the next day.

Well, no penny for me today. Oh well, had a nice day in the S fund yesterday. Futures are down this morning so I'll probably buy it back today. We shall see.........

Looks like Greggy is back..............guess who? :oo

Not sure at this point which way the funds will end up so I'm gonna have to split my bets. I'm going 50% G and 50% S this morning. If we end up today, I'll look to add to my S tomorrow.

Good luck,

I still think we'll end down today, but just hedging my bets.

We are quickly approaching our highs for the year in the C and S funds. Will we be able to bust through? Heck if I know...............:*

I also just started tracking the volatility index and it gave a "sell stocks" signal yesterday.

I believe caution is prudent at this juncture.
