Am I missing something? Why is the market reacting so poorly to good retail numbers? Oil is down! What gives?:*:@

Gritz

Use a little imagination and look just to the right of the chart......can you see the trend going up or down......looks high to me at the moment.....going down for a short period soon.....speculating on what I see economically and what Wal Mart says.....oil is killing the economy....of course the oil and market baronsrecognize it and are now getting the oil price down....but we will suffer for some time before we recover.....

Looking for a currency to invest in.....dollars are cheap right now.....what is cheaper...and likely to go higher????

OK, got my belly filled and tried to help out the economy, but need more of ya'll to get out there and do the same, spend, spend, spend.....(but with cash)

Tech, thanks for the nudge, yeah, seeing how the chart is only through April and with the reports out with wal-mart andgas woes, can see the sentiment turning or predicted to turn bearish for May (and maybe longer). Even heard on the news radio at lunch that though the retail sales were up there is pessimistic concern that the number reflects too high an overextension on the part of buyers, too much credit being used.

Good point Gritz....credit cards mean they don't have the money today and it will be some time before they will......:x

Did I hear a pin drop in the market this morning...??? Betcha everyone on the floor is tuned in for the final....:'

Hey Pyriel...do you know how many suppliers are affected by GM and Fords troubles....its a massive enterprise.....

You know Continental has been doing well for the last several years.....if they are having a tough time, then imagine the airline industry suffering big time.....I heard that some of the airlines have bought fuel futures to slip through these up and down periods at an even level.......good management....

Well, high expenses for everyone does not make a good environment for the market....and they have a lasting effect......

:dude:
Ahhhh.... Alot? :P

I know the in and out of Continental so well since I usually log in quite alot of miles from them. They had a changed of CEO on December and they've been a very good airlines for many years now due good working relationship of management and its employees. They give great benefits and in return the employees tend to give concessions to giving up some benefits when they need to tighten their belt. I'm amaze on their high morale within this company. They even upgraded their fleet and got rid of their 747s, many DC10s that are gas guzzlers. They did well because they were able to get more mileage with their gas with their new 737 and 767s. You are right, they have very good management. However, I would not invest in any airline because as a whole they are so vulnerable to just about any market fluctuation.

Thanks for those who wished me with my bday today (tomorrow for you guys). Took leave and will take the wife out the whole day. Yippeee!...

I also would like to thank those who gave me clarification on how trade deficit affects c/s/i. It might be something I would like to track in the future as well.

Good luck all... And just like what Spaf always say, "Be careful"

I've been getting very large impluses on the downstrokes for the last three days....this morning is getting even larger....the upstroke impulses just don't match up....it doesn't look good so far....sorry guys.....:?

I have been looking at the future prospects....if we continue this trend, I'm getting a firm belief that we will be at 1000 or lower on the S&P by 2/2006.....that's a low cut, but its starting to show its appeal giving the current market conditions......:(

I'm guessing by my data, tomorrow the G fund will increment to the next level....
