With today's close, the (C) got its head above the water a tinybit, leaving the (S) still undertow. It may look like alotta GREEN, but it's nothing impressive.

Yeterday's losses:

C= 1.14%

S= 1.32%

Today's gains:

C= 1.19%

S= 0.66%

As you can see, that (S) is lagging as usual.

God Bless:^

I finally went from 100% G to 50% C, 50% S effective Monday. I've been pretty much in G since December. I'm expecting at least a technical rally, but don't get too comfy.

Wow... what will next week bring to the table?!?

Hopefully not more of the same.:P

Does everyone still intend on being in equities?

Or are you going to see how the week begins?

Spaf reply: This market is too unstable for me to go 100% equities. My max. is 50%, and I'll stay the course, provided, the Horsemen are kept at bay, especially oil. Recently the C-fund has the best response to stocks so I'll be 50G/50C. If they let energy (oil) make a jail break, all bets are off.

Off TSP check out performance (opinion) of utility sector [iShares IDU] also some bonds[iShares TLT]. If stocks go up iS [IVV] will correspond to C-fund. Caution, all equitues can be risky and need to be closely monitored. It's almost a day to day thing.

On this roller coaster, take along pleanty of air sick bags, and hold on to the railing. Remember the G-fund is a good safety harness if U are able to sell high and need a breather.

Rgds! :) Spaf

Oil fell below $50 per barrel due to the US economy's lethargic performance in the first quarter and rising inventories... if it stays below $50 (big IF), we could see a rally starting up.

Thanks for the complement, but I should say that I've only been with the Gov a year, so it's easy to be patient when a few percent doesn't really amount to much. Also, I have dipped a toe in (20% of already a tiny account) one time since the first of the year. Last year I did get in for the Nov-Dec rally, butgot outway too early.

What I'm really trying to do is learn to trade my account based on a longer time frame while the account is small. I'm not used to having to make a decision half way through a trading day. On those key reversal days, it makes it hard to really play a short term wiggle. In my non-retirement account I sometimes trade the QQQQ, SPY, or DIA. The TSP is certainly a different animal.

It's great to have this site up. Great Job!
