Market Talk / May 14 - 20

HEY GUYS, STOP THE CRAP!
LETS TALK BUSINESS INSTEAD OF THIS STUFF! Got a lot of knowledge and talent here. Back in in the 80s I bought a house at an 8% interest rate by buying an existing VA loan. Cost me $4 K down and got a GREAT deal. Interest rates at that time were running about 12% to 13% for a 30 year loan (as high as 16%). I got a great deal. What is the difference now? Prices? WHAT< WHAT!!!!@@!!! Tell me oh he that knows all__________?

Hey nnuut, to quote you from another thread, "Just read Tech's comments and SHUT UP!!!" Does that only go for us "others"? Just curious.

BTW, you're large red print is getting on my nerves, but I'm not gonna blow a nut over it....................:p

Hope ya refinanced last year; I gotta 4.75% Fixed; Non-VA; 15 year note.
...and I just saved big money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO. :D

Good deal 4.75%!!!
I got a fixed rate home equity loan for 5 years at 4.25%. Have 1 more year and the Casa is paid for. It's GOOD when it's GOOD!!

I like terracotta don't you?

I think there is somwhat of a correlation between attitude and direction of the market. Any body else noticed this?

Backside check:
If the tail is wagging = attitude #1. If tail is rigid i.e., straight up = attitude #2. If tail is tucked = attitude #3.

If it's a skunk and #2, U in a hurt!

A comment from a Safe Haven Article:

As Dennis Gartman's friend was fond of saying: "when they're yellin we're sellin, and when they're cryin we're buyin." Sounds good to us - and so it is.

We are very fond of the following words of wisdom - for several self-evident reasons:

"Gold would have value if for no other reason than that
it enables a citizen to fashion his financial escape from the state."
[William F. Rickenbacker]

Spaf ...remember last year you gave a formula for rating risk & getting out of a fund -or funds - ? I don't find it real quick - it was like if 2.5% of one fund, and maybe 5% of total... Will you refresh my memory, please?
I look at numbers & think I am hurting; I recall I bailed at some point just after joining & realized later I should have been doing %'s instead of $ & cents.

Grandma,

I make a paper stop!
1% = Alert
2% = Trail (trailing stop)
i.e., I use the S&P. So if the S&P is at 1300. My alert is 1287 and my trailing stop is 1274. As the market advances the alert and trail follow along.

Also pick some indicators that show overbought / oversold conditions. i.e., the slow-stochastic, macd, etc.

Use a few indicators that that you like. Using too many can just get you confused.

Some references say exercise caution at 2% but never over 5%. The reason being: a 50% loss will require a 100% gain.

Being 21 and risking a few K is one thing. Being 65 and risking the entire basket is something else!

Nice to see things are beginning to pick up. Everything's GREEN besides EFA which is currently -.34

Hopefully it will catch up.

USAA has better rates. The GEICO lizard is just a spinner.
Once again... there's no foolin' ya Wizard. I do infact carry USAA home & auto insurance, bank there, wife works there, eat sleep and breathe it.
I do love the spoof GEICO commercials though. :D

Do you know what the Number 1 thing is USAA sells?

That sounds like a pretty decent deal. :) Musta been tough getting a 4.25% four years ago.

OK- this looks like the recovery in "I" is ready to go.

Japan is higher today, and the dollar is once again down. Shakeout could be over. I think it is.

I am going to be moving back into "I" today.

Euroland gapped and is now crapping out. Japan did the same thing but came back by the end of their second session.
