How much longer are we going to have to put up with ridiculous posts like this?

Two words:

"Ignore Button"

That's what it's there for. Please utilize it.

OK, NOT two words... ;)

That Must Be It

Six posts in our main forum in 24 hours. We're all 'ignoring' one another, I guess. I wanna know what folks think of the coming week. Will there be another Bernanke Panic? Will a simple steady 1/4% rise in the Fed rate precipitate another spectacle? Some in my office have lost the entire year so far, right back to even. We'd like some informed opinion.

Dave,

See tsptalk comments: Updated 06/23/06 Forming a base...[more]
The economy has gone from robust to strong.
The rates have folks worried. Least, that's the spin.
It gets scary at the bottom...:worried:....It's dark down here!

Re: That Must Be It

Will there be another 1/4 point panic? I wouldn't place a large bet on it not happening... unless you have money to give up. The market graphs are starting to show some shape on the lower end; steadying if you will. It could go into a "V-Fib" and kind of level out for a while during the rest of this four year cycle low; until October. Dave, our US markets correct between 20 - 25% historically during this time frame. If members in your office have ridden it out this far, dollar cost averaging... they'd be ill advised to stop at this point. Birchtree can school anyone on all the good in DCA; PM him. Barring a major world incident or crash, the market will recover, completely. Our markets always have. I personally feel there's another 6 - 8% negative correction still due our way between now and October for US markets, with plenty of opportunity to time a couple profitable IFT's. I haven't any feel for the I Fund over the last few months; very volatile. If you choose to try it, entertain the thought of going for a long choppy ride up through the end of the year. Ultimately, all decisions remain with the individual investor. I'm still waiting for more correction before I re-invest my TSP account. I'm still camped out in the G-Fund. Good luck, and have a nice weekend.
PS: I choose to electronically ignore no one, Dave.
PSS: You're in the #5 slot at 7.83%; that ain't shabby at all.

Anytime he opens his mouth, the market falls. So, might as well go with that trend.

TRADERS WARY of frequent market mood swings contributed to the latest reversal Thursday, as upbeat profit updates gave way to worries about high oil prices, rising interest rates and the looming economic slowdown.
"The cumulative impact of higher gasoline prices, higher costs to run the air conditioner this spring, a slowing housing market, higher interest rates, a loss of confidence (both business and consumer), and even higher taxes in some localities, have all combined to slow the forward pace of economic activity, pushing growth to a sub-par level this summer -- possibly extending into the fall. Given the slower pace, the economy has less ability to absorb another round of strong hurricanes this summer," said Conference Board economist Ken Goldstein. On the plus side, there was "strength abroad" counteracting the domestic weakness.

Lot of people are either afraid of posting now or becoming more and more disinterested.

Nature of the beast when slanderous accusations aren't deleted I'm afraid.

Re: That Must Be It

¿Otra vez, Mike? If you honestly want to change things… take a long look at the man in the mirror. Stop using this MB and your position to stalk, antagonize & provoke others; simply apologize, change & stop. At least ponder the thought of handing the tracker duties to another person, for your own well being. Less stress in your life may do you some emotional good.

It takes too much energy to be a hater, Mike. Give it some thought.

He could not have been more clear. Say you'll do the tracker and he'll happily and immediately turn it over to you.

Re: That Must Be It

Dave, send me some information on it (the larger programming and such), some informative guidelines on using and managing it, and I'll look it over this weekend. If all looks plausible, and if Mike and the rest of the senior membership of this MB will have it, I'll try and carry the load.

Sorry, don't know the first thing about it.

That's why I'm appreciative of the guys here who belly up and take care of it for us.

Happens all the time Ebbnflow. Sometimes I actually miss a big drop too. Miss rallys, miss corrections, miss the "G" penny and lose 3 or 4K. Like spearing fish, hard to hit one but when you do you're really proud! Oh! it's not over until it's over.:D
Best of luck in you're investments.
