justbizness45's Account Talk

That might be best considering the competative nature of the tracker.
I waive any and all Monthly Awards for that very reason. But I find the
Autotracker too useful at this point in my evaluation of the <1%IFT. I
just didn't know if the differences were the result of a misunderstanding
of the process. I can see now, that you've got things well in hand. With
that, I look forward to seeing how it works out for ya. Good Luck ! :)

Did a <1% IFT to maintain percentages and buy some more share 98G/2C

You TSP rebels, always stretching the rules and trying to get the rest of us in trouble :cheesy:

Perhaps this <1% thing has its merits. For me (because of the size of my account) I'm not sure it's worth the play. OTOH, if I had a larger account, then I would think it could have a much greater impact.

I look forward to getting your impressions, after you've had a chance to compare the data side by side. :)

The way I see it, beating 100% (G) must be the goal as thats our only
option after meeting the limits. It helps me focus on the month and not
just the dollars. The .0069% in the (G) Fund bites the bullet. But if the
account balance leads to putting 50% of your $$$ at risk, your oh so very
right. It would not be worth it. But something tells me its all relative and
the results will remain the same. You can beat the (G) Fund returns for
the week or biweekly if you get a rebound with more cheaper shares or a
rally. Today I added 26% more shares into the (C) and 26% more in the
(S). If tomorrow rebounds back to its original share price, I be better off
then Buying & Holding that position and tons better off then bailing to
the (G) Fund. I don't use this method with the goal to stay in the funds
all month. But to beat the (G) Fund returns for the remainder of the month
and bail when I had enough. Hopefully (like I did in Nov/Dec) I'll be playing
with the gains I made before reaching the IFT Limits.

This from KD's website this A.M.

Dec. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Japan should write-off its holdings of Treasuries because the U.S. government will struggle to finance increasing debt levels needed to dig the economy out of recession, said Akio Mikuni, president of credit ratings agency Mikuni & Co.

The dollar may lose as much as 40 percent of its value to 50 yen or 60 yen from the current spot rate of 90.40 today in Tokyo unless Japan takes “drastic measures” to help bail out the U.S. economy, Mikuni said. Treasury yields, which are near record lows, may fall further without debt relief, making it difficult for the U.S. to borrow elsewhere, Mikuni said.
“It’s difficult for the U.S. to borrow its way out of this problem,” Mikuni, 69, said in an interview with Bloomberg Television broadcast today. “Japan can help by extending debt cancellations.”
Jubilee for America by Japan, forced by a pending currency dislocation?
Uh, just one question - what's China going to think of that?
The door is looking awfully small and the curtains are on fire.
(I never thought a suggestion like this, and recognition of what's going to happen to the dollar, would come that fast from overseas. Its amazing how these foreign folk can do the math while our idiot savants at The Fed are incapable of the same task when both have the same information in front of them.)

Unfreakin'-believable, JB. I hadn't gotten around yet to KD this morning, it's usually on my first-thing to-do list. So Japan may give us "face" by extending at least partial debt-forgiveness rather than see us default and lose our national credit rating. Unfreakin'-believable. China would have to react to that if Japan actually does it. I'll be watching with bated breath.

So will several other countries , hope you had a great Christmas.

hope you had a great Christmas.

Thanks JB, my Christmas was interesting, got better as the day went by, actually. 8am. Discovered ice dams on edge of roof had created a drip inside exterior wall of my home office. Went outside to verify, not only did I have an icedam leak going, but when I went up to start trying to clear snow off and break icedams, smelled a gas leak at the meter, very close to leak location, so I didn't dare get out any kind of heater to thaw the ice dam. Called gas company at 8, repairman arrived at 9, tightened up a joint at the meter (same location troubling other meters around town, evidently, cold shrinks the gasket). took care of that.

Spent much of the rest of the day working on snow load to reduce icedam buildups on front of house, never got around to back of house before due for Christmas dinner elsewhere. The day ended well, but was back working on icedams again yesterday, fortunately leaks ceased after the work I did Xmas day. Rain today is thawing and melting, hope it dissolves icedams completely before its done so I don't have to go back on ladder anymore. Will see. Vehicles were still doing 180's and 360s in the streets even yesterday (not me; occasional 15-30degree fishtail every 3-4 days for me the past couple weeks :o). Hope no flooding out your way.

Hope no flooding out your way.

3 different vehicles came for dinner and all three got stuck. Spent Christmas evening digging them out. One of my friends thanked me for the adventure.:) No flooding yet. The packed snow slushed out on the bottom with the warmer weather and now no one is moving on my road without 4WD and 12" clearance. It's going to be a fun week.

Great DAY!!! What's a Ice DAM? 73 degrees here today!! Georgia, SWEET Georgia on my mind!!:D

:D PNW ain't for wimps, is it JB? For your edification nnuut, ice dams are where melting snow builds up into an ice layer at the edge of your roof, when snow melts higher up on the roof, it runs down to that built-up ice layer which where the water pools and backs up under your shingles from the downhill side. From there who knows where it will go til the leaks show up. My ice dams were about 5" high and a foot wide. Even with a couple foot roof overhang, the backed-up free water found its way a foot back to the house wall under the shingles. Wasn't bad, just a steady drip in one spot, could've been a whole lot worse!

The foot-deep slush on my street melted overnight and this morning with the continued warming and rain, will finally get OUT of 4x4 for 1st time in 2 weeks today, yay! Now for the flooding to come? I did pay my flood insurance couple weeks ago, due at end of the month. Hope the darn mail gets there in time-we had no local mail service for a few days either, even out of Portland or Seattle airports per UPS local person last week. Still waiting for auto part delivery from the dealership, should have been here last Monday. Will call tomorrow, see what's up.

Since this is my first year in the tracker, will I automatically be carried over into the 2009 tracker at the first of the year or do I need to request it somewhere? Anyone? Thanks, JB45

It's my understanding that you'll carry over automatically. Your allocations
will be carried over as well. The software will refresh all MTD,YTD and QTD
figures AND your name will now be included in the Weekly and Monthly
Tally's that EW_Ret publishes. http://www.tsptalk.com/tsp-tracker.html
If you fail to log-on for a certain number of days, thats when a member
may face "De-Listing".;)

Did you ever get my email ?

I live in NE WA near the BC border and have a metal roof with a very steep pitch to handle the snow load. Most of the time the snow just slides off when it builds up enough weight. This time even I got large ice dams and a small leak in the bathroom. The dams finally broke loose a few days ago and came crashing down on my deck. Varying weather conditions are something we've learned to live with out here in the boonies.

Hi Ron, meant to say hello the other day. I probably haven't visited your neck of the woods just yet, but close. Spent a week at Priest Lake year before last with a longtime friend from Coeur d'Alene. It's incredibly beautiful there, I could easily go back to visit.:)

Currently 99G/1C in the tracker. Reality is 96.67G and 3.33C due to <1% IFTs last month. Waiting on an entry point. Good luck to all this year!!

Alevin-Yes, you'll definitly have to check out the rugged beauty of the Kettle River Valley and the surrounding mountains. Lots of little lakes and streams for fishing and the area teams all kinds of wildlife i.e. deer, eagles, bear, cougar, water fowl etc. The part I like best is the area has not become commercialised "yet"!-Ron
