JTH's Account Talk

Re: WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE - don't ya just luv roller-coasters?

Sorry I Haven't been around much lately nor plan to. Work duties have substantially increased and things won't simmer down till November. I've also doubled-up on college courses, with a goal to crank out a bachelors in 2 years. I also have 2 kids in school on the base so their activates keep me busy too, the third kid is homeschooled. Bottom line, it's been hectic and I just won't have the time to hyper focus on prices, I hope everyone trades safe, these are high-risk levels.

Forgot to tell everyone I bought back into SIRI at 1.64, here's the old chart from Monday. I didn't catch the low for the day, can't getem all.

I tell ya these markets are broke dick, why SPX 1120 hasn't broken is beyond me, my SIRI fell through the floor, I may pick some more up, but I wouldn't advise anyone else to buy just yet. New month, more IFTs, but who cares, it's not like there is anything worth buying...

We are at a flip of the coin spot right now I take tails.:(

SIRI

I looked at SIRI and see price support at 1.30. That is where the 200 simple moving average is located. Wait till the RSI weekly gets to or below 30. Just my. 02

BD strategy continued....

in this BD environment, would the strategy be to get out at any reasonable high, and wait in G/F for later? You got out at 1,180 is my last recollection.....is that the mark today? Surely, it's short of 1,200 (which wasn't reached during the last cycle)...or 580 in the S-fund? And when will that happen? Anyway.......I'm just posing questions here for which there may be no answer.....I've not been able to put together a successful week since February. There have been opportunities to make good IFT's, but many more scenarios of IFT's which don't work (I am in the latter category).

In sum, the buy-nothing strategy (no IFTs, stay in G/F) seems to be working for many of the top 30, and especially the top 10, tho a closer look at the member records show that knife-catchers at the top are fading as well as the rest of us.

The markets have been trading on emotion and now that earnings are on the way - fundamentals will start acting better. I bought some MOS today at $51.16 and remember back in early 2008 selling some at $194/share. I couldn't resist the temptation on a commodity. I also doubled down on my MCP at $33.20. There are plenty of things that are on the bargin shelf - it just takes courage.

Not sure how this trade will work out, I'll still have 1 IFT if needed.

I will too. I've been dragged through this horrible market situation for a long time now and have lost a lot of money in my TSP. I think this will be a good break to sit back for a moment and see how things turn. I do have a big question for yourself and others if they wish to chime in. When you all go all G/F in your TSP do you also sell off all of your other investments such as mutual funds or do you leave those be usually? I think I read somewhere that with USAA you can only move back into a specific mutual fund 30 days after you left it so I guess you would have to find a new home for your money when you buy back in unless you wait 30 days.

Thank you for any insight.

Siegel says he thinks the bond market is grossly overvalued. I must admire your courage running into a burning building. Not something I would do.
