What are your go to market indicators? I know that you have indicated that you follow price but am wondering if there are certain price indicators that you find more useful? I follow the moving averages, especially the 10 month SMA but am wondering if there are more short-term price MAs, or other inidicators that can help make entry and exit decisions with our 2 IFTs per month? The sentiment survey and the 10 month SMA would have had me in for most of the year to date but would prefer to be in the market a bit less than that. Any ideas?
 
Thanks Pep, it's a strugle at times to convience my family to live within their means, the hardest part is trying to create a "save your money" mentality. Instant gratification is a concept deeply embedded into the American lifestyle. A whole lot of folks don't know what it's like to go through a depression or poverty, ect.

I've used every indicator under the sun and then some. But all they really do is provide confirmation of price. Once you insert yourself into the matrix the code becomes easy to read and you disregard the limits that indicators place on you. Id work at stepping back to a slower/longer timeframe, trade less, watch retracements as an indicator of price stability. Stay out of the I-Fund, ect. Everything I do is simple & consistent.

I spent the day at the sleep disorder clinic and have another sleep study tonight. I did get a little time to glance at the charts, but I'm unable to commit an entry based on what I have, but I'm also not going to rule out making an entry tomorrow. If tomorrow is a strong up day I won't make an entry. Wednesday is my preference, we'll see if it plays out or not.

sorry to hear this. I went to one of these about ten years ago. Turns out I don't have sleep apnia, which is good. What they reported was that I come out of deep sleep about 100 times per night which makes it seem like I never fall asleep. I'm constantly tired unless I self medicate with a six pack or more. :D But then I wake up hungover.:(

Hopefully they'll have a treatment for you that will help. CPAP has helped give me back my sleep and energy.

Hope things go well for you. I did that a few years back. Most miserable night of my life. Hundreds of wires hooked up and chest strap so tight I had to fight to breathe. My brother on the other hand has the CPAP and says it has made all the difference. Wakes up rested with tons of energy! May have to give it another try.
 
Thank you everyone for the kind words of encouragement. This was my third sleep over, I currently have a Bi-Pap with an unbearable 18 over 14 pressure. I don't use it because it's like hooking up an air-chuck to your nose. Anyways, the good news is, through lifestyle changes I may no longer need the machine or may get to downgrade to a C-Pap with lower presure. I have to wait for the results then do a followup.
 
You do know there is now a plastic implant available to keep the airway patent. It's not a traumatic process.

Interesting, problem is I didn't have any obstructive apnea's last night, nor desatularions. So somehow I went from having severe complex sleep apnea to borderline apnea. This was a split night, be the tech didn't have enough events to warant putting me on the machine.

The self medication doesn't give me a hangover, I just get up a couple times a night to go to the bathroom. :rolleyes:

A little supplemental oxygen will help prevent any further desaturation below 90% which is a partial pressure of 60 (blood gas). A good oxygen concentrator can be bought for around $900. It's the oxygen desaturation over time that creates the build up of pulmonary resistance and right ventricle failure. The good news is that this desaturation can be prevented and reversed - but it requires oxygen at night for extended periods. A high hematocrit could be a signal of desaturation and is a compensatory mechanism.
 
JTH....I just got off a nap with an old CPAP I have. I too used to be on a BiPAP at 20/10 with an O2 generator supplying 3L of O2/min. I'm 155lbs. and a lean fella. Mine was mostly Central Apnea....like it sounds like yours is. After a few months on the BiPAP, I actually got totally off these machines. The Dr. put the little O2 reader on my finger for about 4 nights at different intervals, and it showed I was getting enough O2 on my own! I personally think the strong setting on the BiPAP "trained" my brain/diaphragm how to breathe?! I still have apnea....mostly stop breathing some when going to sleep, but my wife says I generally breath great once I am asleep (And I don't have that much life insurance on me right now....so, I believe her....heh heh :) ). Anyway, hoping the same is true with you and you can get off these machines for good. It's been 5 or 6 years for me, but, of late, I feel I'm not getting good sleep. So, I got the old CPAP back out and, just today, decided to take a nap with it. I just got up a few minutes ago, and I think it was a help. The Dr. said I was a rare case to get off the PAPs, but, it does happen....they're not exactly sure why. After using the CPAP for a year or so, I would stop breathing while on it....thus a rerun produced the BiPAP. There's hope for you!!

There was a time when I self-medicated every night, but the reality is drinking makes your sleep apnea much worse and smoking compounds the problem. After substancally reducing my drinking, no longer smoking cigerettes, and taking prylosec for excessive heart burn, I'm better than before. My sleep isn't the greatest but it's better than it was 3 years ago.

Thanks, haven't met anyone who even knows what a Bi-Pap is let alone have numbers higher than mine. My hope is to get downgraded to a C-Pap and reduced numbers. I'd love to be able to go beyond an hour with the machine, as of now I can't get past the ramp period.
 
Took me about a week to get used to my cpap, now I love it. Wake up refreshed and ready to go. As an added bonus I used to wake up with a stuffy nose every morning but now I'm clog free in when I get up.
